Mandy Aftel of Aftelier will be at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City for two events this coming January.
First, on Wednesday, January 20th at 6 pm, she'll be giving a talk on Aromatics Along the Silk Road:
Frankincense, myrrh, patchouli, jasmine—aromatics were valuable commodities traded along the ancient Silk Road, and they are still prized today. Renowned perfumer Mandy Aftel, the nose behind Aftelier perfumes, will awaken your senses to the amazing world of aromatics and discuss their fascinating history. A sensory experience awaits.
Tickets are $20. The following evening, Thursday January 21, she'll be participating in Caravanserai: A Perfumed Tasting Menu at 7 pm:
Imagine yourself in a Persian caravanserai, an ancient roadside inn, immersed in the wonders of the Silk Road. Delight your senses with an original tasting menu created by perfumer Mandy Aftel and special guests including Johnny Iuzzini, executive pastry chef of Michelin-starred restaurant Jean Georges; Sam Mason, chef and host the popular Independent Film Channel cooking series Dinner With the Band; and Audrey Saunders, widely recognized as one of the leaders of modern mixology and the owner of the award-winning Pegu Club in New York City.
Tickets are $150, and seating is limited to 30.
