Cartier Roadster Sport ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 3 November 2009 38 Comments

Cartier Roadster Sport

Cartier has launched Roadster Sport, a "casual chic" follow-up to last year's Roadster fragrance for men.

The notes for the citrus woody amber include bergamot, mandarin, orange blossom, sage, rosemary, black pepper, patchouli and gaiac wood.

Cartier Roadster Sport is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette, and can be found at Douglas in Germany. (via douglas.de)

I think everyone already commented on it when the first one came out. I don’t mind it – it’s different.

I think the bottle totally rocks. Reminds me of 50’s Oldsmobiles, or Kennedy-era space race rockets.

It sorta reminds me of a battery operated “vibrating virility” device. haha I should have quit while ahead and left it at ‘no comment’.

And people who are not regular readers here will see ‘vibrating virility’ and wonder what the heck that means [and what kind of weirdo I am]. LOL

Glad someone is keeping the phrase “vibrating virility” alive. ;)

Well, I’m glad the Dove said it, I was thinking it….but I wouldn’t want you all to think that my mind is always in the gutter….just because I seem so darn familiar with the gutter doesn’t mean a thing!

“Vibrating virility” WAS really hilarious, wasn’t it?

I, um, have never seen one of those devices, so maybe I’m missing the point.

Don’t feel bad – I thought it either looked like a tail light or a tipped over salt shaker.

I wonder if there’s no mint this time, or if it just isn’t listed for some reason?

Nope… we have the original and I think we’ll be just fine without this one. And I hate the red lettering on the bottle – looks so discounty.

Depending on how they use the orange blossom, sage, and rosemary this could be a bit skanky. Must pour Homme has got some skank. I am intrigued, though cautious.

Could be, although seems really unlikely given that Roadster wasn’t skanky and this is the sport version.

Still haven’t tried the original. Sport? Hmm. At least no aquatic accord, and I like black pepper. Low chance of seeking this out though.

Apparently the mint wasn’t necessary for the flanker of a mint-based scent? =o

Did Mathilde Laurent author this? If so, this must be the price she pays for getting such freedom with the Les Heures du Parfum.

Well, maybe it’s brilliant. But they seem to be marketing it incorrectly.

I wonder…quite possible it has mint and it just isn’t listed. Don’t know if ML developed it, but would think so.

It never is. But one day, somebody will come out with a Sport that’s better than the original, and then I’ll have to eat my words.
