Posted by Robin on 22 October 2009 28 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb Holiday 2009

From Viktor & Rolf, the 2009 holiday limited edition of Flowerbomb: "To celebrate Christmas, Viktor & Rolf have dressed up Flowerbomb with a precious sparkling pink dress filled with silver glitters. Flowerbomb Glitter, in limited edition, is a glamorous touch of elegance that will transform the magic of Christmas into a true fairy tale." 50 ml for 110€ at Colette in France.

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist BCA

Sisley Soir de Lune Prestige Edition for Christmas 2009Sisley Eau de Soir collectible bottle for Christmas 2009

And two from Sisley... first, the Soir de Lune Prestige Edition for Christmas 2009 (shown above left): "A festive bottle for Sisley’s most romantic fragrance. Soir de Lune gloriously celebrates Christmas with a finery of CRYSTALLIZED™- Swarovski Elements, in an exclusive and strictly limited edition of 1 500 copies world-wide. The bottle’s four facets are adorned with diamond-cut micro-crystals, their iridescent silver shimmers like a star-studded sky… The Soir de Lune Prestige Edition is, more than ever, a quintessentially poetic evocation of the moon’s radiant glow. This exceptionally precious edition, comes in an amethyst-coloured crocodile-skin style presentation box, which turns into a jewellery box, with two compartments that can hold 6 to 8 rings." Price unknown.

Next, the Sisley Eau de Soir collectible bottle for Christmas 2009 (above right): "...it brings together the colours of two fabulous materials, coral and turquoise, to grace the frosty season with the soft and luminous warmth of its sensual, feminine and oriental harmony. Audacious and unexpected, the new Eau du Soir for 2009 celebrates its own legendary success with sparkle and delight, in a colourful tribute to the eternal femininity of its floral-chypre trail." In 100 ml Eau de Parfum, 176€. (both via sisley-cosmetics, additional information via cosmetiquemag.fr)

jc-solid

From Juicy Couture, Viva La Juicy solid perfume "All boldly-goldly boxed, with a pink beribboned case." $100 at Neiman Marcus.

mugler-extrait

me too – I love those colours together. It’s almost worth buying – anyone know if they butchered this one (reformulation)? R, I know you said they did to Campagne.

The glitter on the LE Flower Bomb bottles comes off on your hands.

Last year’s LE Angel bottles came with chipped and dirty crystals. There were a lot of frustrated shoppers returning them. Hope they’re better this year. The Angel sprayer tried to make up for it by giving out dollar store compacts, but shoppers were pissed.

So the FB bottle is just glittered, not the juice?

You mean this one, or the black one they did last year? (re: the Flowerbomb)

Last year’s was clearly glitter on the outside of the bottle. This one, I can’t tell.

It looked like the actual perfume was glittery. I don’t know why I care, I’m not even remotely interested in it.

I can’t quite tell, either, but it looks like the Flowerbomb LE has glitter in the juice; at least, it looks a lot like my daughter ‘s bottle Love’s Baby Soft Skin Glow Mist (except the Love’s has lavender and pink glitter, not just pink). Very princessy.
And don’t drop that Angel on your foot!

If it does have glitz in the fume itself, then AVOID.
I used to have a limited edition “spray scintillante” of Clinique Happy (yah, youthful folly either way) and the glitter clogged the spray within two days of owning it. Of course I’d bought it on an airport, so I couldn’t even return it. Ugh.

I have a feeling it’s more expensive than the Eau de Soir, which is already too spendy for me.

I really like the glitter pink Flowerbomb. I sure hope its just the bottle & not the juice that has glitter. Macys has a Viva solid for $55. Im wondering if there is a difference from the 2 cuz NM is $100! Maybe its bigger or something?

Thanks…they sure look the same, and $55 is much more reasonable — it isn’t a terribly fancy compact.

It would make a nice pendant for a necklace too.

LOVE the eau de soir bottle!!For the first time i would actually like to buy this for the bottle ( i have a little beit left of a very old eau de soir) However..i really appreciate things that are sold with a donation being made and i am a big supporter of breast cancer funds so I would also like to buy the CM (wihich I also happen to like the smell of) However..I would also like a whole lot of vintage stuff and some new stuff…..and btw i’de also like to send robin a vintage diorissimo…Nice to have dreams!!! I may print a picture of the eaude soir bottle and stick it up somewhere to enjoy!!! while i go about REAL life…

I wish the companies would do more solid forms of the existing perfumes. They’re usually priced well so it’s justified in spending the money, and the sillage is lighter so it makes some scents more wearable.

The Angel bottler looks great. Fortunately I get a headache from the scent. I’d never spend 180€€€ for something because of the bottle. Honestly, I get a nice (small) piece of gold jewellery for that.
