Avon has launched Urban Flowers, a new trio of perfumes for women, and Derek Jeter Driven Sport for men:
Urban Flowers London (above left)~ "A cosmopolitan blend of lush fruit and passionate wild rose."
Urban Flowers New York (above center) ~ "A sophisticated floral chypre defined by the elegance of orchid."
Urban Flowers Paris (above right) ~ "A romantic floral with a pure heart of soft, sensual camellia."
The Avon Urban Flowers Trio fragrances are available in 30 ml Eau de Toilette, $12 each.
Derek Jeter Driven Sport (not shown) is a flanker to 2006's Derek Jeter Driven, and is described as a "confident play of invigorating freshness, bold woods and sheer, sexy musk." It is available in 75 ml Eau de Toilette, $22.50. (via avon)
If only the NY scent was truly a sophisticated floral chyrpe – what a bargain it would be!
It sounds like it would at least be worth a sniff at the kiosk – all of the Avons seem to have the same disagreeable drydown on me though.
I wish Avon had a kiosk in my mall! Or maybe they do & I’ve missed it…I don’t pay lots of attention to the kiosks.
I’ve heard SO many people complain about the dry down on Avon perfumes. It’s as if they use the same base for every fragrance – like Guerlinade, only Avon-ade. And yet Avon sells a lot of perfume. There must be some happy customers out there … are there?
It seems as if they use the same base and there is something in it that smells very musty to me – almost like old dusting powder that has gone bad. I wonder how many people wear their perfume for themselves at how much of it is given for gifts? They definitely try to hook you young with their scents aimed at young girls – I loved Sweet Honesty when I was a little girl. I have no idea what it smells like now though.
I have never noticed any sort of scent from a camellia– and I have flourishing bushes of three different varieties at my front door.
Most camellias are unscented, but there are scented varieties.
Tea is a camellia, but I don’t think they mean the fermented leaves.
The concept seems kind of close to “Asphalt Flowers” by MAC, even if the scents themselves are very different.
I was thinking it was a copy of that recent Guerlain trio, maybe…
I thought of the MAC too, just based on the name (and didn’t compare favorably, lol)… must be something floating around out there in the fashion world. But this seems more like a “city garden” idea…which has also been done somewhere recently. Blah.
can somebody fill me on on this avon brand? is it like yves rocher?
It’s direct sales, so unlike Yves Rocher they don’t have stores. And not sure they do as good a job on fragrance as Yves Rocher…at least, not on the few I’ve smelled.
These were discontinued months and months ago in Australia. Wonder why they are only just releasing them in US?… They were $39.00 each here though đ Paris was the best. Nice and woody.
Possibly! Or possibly they were here earlier and I missed them.
