for some reason this video won’t open on my computer but regardless….the new Natori EdP is glorious!! And it does have a very fancy lingerie aura to it….how appropriate, yes? The bottle is very cool looking and feeling. Ok, wouldn’t go around doing this all the time but I held it up in the sunlight pouring in the south facing window, and when hit just right —the bottle just glowed the most beautiful purple. Then I hustled it right into the dark perfume cabinet.
LOL…poor thing, hiding in the dark!
not hiding….being ‘safe’…..but at least she’s in the front row, snuggled in between Cartier So Pretty, Bal a Versailles parfum and some DSH Arabian Rose…..at first she was next to the Pulp but J thought that would be too intimidating….so we rearranged a bit.
You have BaV parfum?!?? I still have not opened my box… it’s still in its cellophane. (Too hot for Bal, IMO, here for another three weeks or month or so.)
heheheheh yes, yes I do….
oh, and I got your email, haven’t had time to respond….except I totally LOVE Tocade!!! All I can think is when you made the comment about the lingering scent of it in your closet …that it throws it’s arms around a body and slurs “I’m drunk and have lost my panties…take me home!” …..what does this say about me???? 😉
Wow. Love it! If designers had the sense to promote their perfumes like this instead of flashing pictures of naked men and women at us, they might be more successful. I think I need a bottle.
Agree. To my mind this was a bit long…4 minutes would have been plenty, but at least it’s not the usual bunch of high-concept hooey.
I’ve been dying to try this perfume, and now I’m dying to try the lingerie too. It looks very classy and high quality.
They make pretty things!
Natori is absolutely gorgeous! I can’t wait to own some. I’m only holding out until the holidays in the hopes that a gift set with the body cream comes out. Smoothing some of that on under the perfume’s got to be almost as lovely as sliding into expensive lingerie. Of course, why not combine all three? 😉 .
Exactly!
Nice video. Can anyone who has sniffed it tell me how potent the aldehydes are? I’m slightly aldehyde-phobic, but this sounds so appealing (not to mention the gorgeous bottle) that I’m feeling drawn against my will! Just wonder how soapy/powdery it is?
Hi VJ, you will have to sniff to be sure but to my nose the aldehydic note is pretty much up front and pretty evident….settles down after a while though. On me it is not soapy at all and powdery is often different from person to person….I do think it softens and takes on a “powdery ” note but not what I think is thought of as “that old lady powder smell” Does that make any sense at all? Even though I like it, I suspect if you don’t like aldehydes, and have an aversion to anything powdery or soapy—this won’t be for you. BUT–that’s my nose…to you it might be quite different…..just like I love the cinnamon in Une Rose Chypree and everyone else thinks I off my rocker. 🙂
Thanks Daisy, much appreciated! Will try to procure a sample and see how it sits with me. Must…resist…bottle…lust…
The whole “this represents the heritage of THE EAST” mystical ad copy stuff makes me want to die a little (are we still lumping together all of Asia these days?) but, this is a fun video. I totally agree that more designers should do these instead of the usual ads. Before this, I didn’t care about this fragrance at all, but now I’ve gotta try it…
Yeah, I know, but hey…still better than most ad copy fol de rol, no?
I still haven’t smelled it though!
It’s truly lovely. I don’t get anything more than a possibly soapy or more accurately “freshly washed with a luxury soap” feel, and the plum adds a sensual touch along with the aldehydes in the intro. But really, the florals are there from the beginning and ease into more prominence as the fragrance settles in. It’s absolutely enchanting and there’s no doubt some will be in my possession as soon as I’m able. 🙂
Sounds lovely!
I read Angelas review on this again, and I am definitely going to try this because I love all the listed notes especially night scented jasmine which I LOVE.
Her review was compelling! I’ll try it when it gets out of Saks.
But of couse u can only get it in The States…or?
I think that Saks has a 6 month exclusive on Natori and then I would presume it would spread out. I wonder if they ship internationally? Probably would cost an arm and a leg.
Natori.com also sells it, so that might be worth checking into. The shipping in the U.S. was beyond reasonable. (disclaimer: not affiliated, etc.)
I’m sorry, I don’t know the plans for overseas distribution. But I think Saks only has an exclusive for 3 months.
ah well, I can wait.
