Milan-based designer John Richmond has launched his debut fragrance, John Richmond Eau de Parfum. The new fruity floral for women aims to "fascinate the senses like rock 'n roll".

The fragrance notes include pink grapefruit, pear, blackberry, magnolia, lily, daffodil, amber, patchouli and sandalwood.

John Richmond Eau de Parfum is available now in Italy, in 30, 50 and 100 ml. (via labazza, sfilate.it)

The notes don’t sound all that bad (except maybe for that blackberry!), but this reminds me of a gazillion other fruity florals. I guess they sell…

… and so does the lure of sex in the ads. If that model isn’t actually topless, she’s barely hangin’ on to her strapless opera gown, complete with handless elbow gloves. (Her senses have been fascinated by perfume like rock and roll, and she forgot how to dress herself?)

Sorry. I did try to hang on to my snark, but it got away from me. I wonder, though: did perfume-loving women in the 50’s go about complaining about “all those aldehydic, lactonic florals”?

Perfume loving women in the 1950s didn’t have anyplace to snark! At least, not online.

You can’t tell me they didn’t sit around at bridge parties and complain about something or other! (“You just can’t find a good maid these days,” or “These new novels are so trashy,” or “Don’t all these cocktails taste the same to you?”)

LOL I was thinking perhaps they sent their snarky comments on lightly scented stationary—comments like ” you wouldn’t believe what the girls are wearing at the highschool these days! Knees were showing, I tell you! knees!”

Or was it more the signature scent mentality? You picked “your” fragrance, you bought it, you never went sniffing again so you didn’t care that Fleurs de Rocaille smelled like Infini smelled like Crepe de Chine?

The bottle looks amazing. Wish more men perfumes have bottles like these.

I’m not loving that lock. Looks like a cheap version of the one on the Kelly Caleche bottle.

I agree with Giustino, bottle looks great!.
I could do without the “lock”, but still.

The model looks like an Angelina clone to me! :-)
    Or is it her?

Gosh, doubt that’s her. Don’t think this line is that big (actually I’d never heard of it).

Hmm…sounds pretty, but I don’t normally associate pink grapefruit and magnolia with Houses of the Holy or Aerosmith Rocks….

Giggle. Yeah, I always wear blackberry and daffodil when I want my senses enraptured by Springsteen.

Another giggle – I have this vision of Tenacious D taking a light cologne break of AA Pamplelune between sets!

LOL! I don’t know anything about JR, or if he has a rock ‘n roll type aesthetic, but the ad doesn’t capture it if he does.

The whole thing just sounds confused. And so are we, since it sounds like no of us have ever even heard of this guy.

“Fascinate the senses…” lol! I don’t want my senses fascinated. I want them to be pretty clear about what’s going on.

Right? Zep has always conjured scent images of strong patch, tobacco, obviously cannabis, a bit o’ cumin, and lots of leather and incense. Think that covers rock and roll…not really seeing fruit or florals of any sort getting involved in this party.

Sounds very UN-Rock and/Or Roll… Does Sounds Deliciou, loving the whole Pear, Magnolia, Patch, Amber, Sandalwood thing going on… if the Blackberry is done right it might just be down right Awesome! the bottle though strikss me as very similar to the Pure Tiffany Bottle… Anyone????

I suppose it is like Pure Tiffany, but it’s such a commonly used shape that it’s hard to see it as being a copy of any one thing.

When I forst glanced at he photo, I read her right hand as belonging to someone else and reaching in to pick off a tick or something. Both of those arms look like tey belong to someone else. All that fabric with no sleeve (yes I know they are gloves) just looks weird.

Another one I will probably never see or remember to look for.
