Reminiscence Eau de Patchouli ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 16 May 2009 25 Comments

Reminiscence Eau de Patchouli perfumeReminiscence has launched Eau de Patchouli, a new variation on their popular Patchouli fragrance for women, originally launched in 1970 (and also see: Elixir Patchouli).

Eau de Patchouli is an oriental caress, woody and ethereal. The intensity of patchouli is first mixed with Sandalwood and Cedar from India. Then, it melts into the mildness of Tonka Bean, wrapped in luscious Vanilla, and the Amber warmth of Labdanum. Finally, the sensual and delicate notes of Musk adorn the skin with a light breath of the Orient.

Reminiscence Eau de Patchouli is available now at Beautyhabit in 100 ml Eau de Toilette for $90. (via beautyhabit)

I can’t believe I haven’t tried this line. I love patchouli, (sandalwood, tonka bean and cedar too!)
I think I’ll try a sample order from BH and try the original elixir too!

I did not like the original Patchouli but loved the Elixir — but bear in mind that I’m not usually a fan of patch at all. The Elixir reminded me of Patchouli Leaves by Montale — really woody/barky.

Isn’t that a great scent? Did you buy it already??

Ha ha ha! No I didnt. I have Patchouli covered for now…Bois 1920 Real Patchouly. The patch in Elixir was so rich and smoothe and yes woody/barky. You will always hear me complaing about how scents dont last long on me…WELL…sprayed Elixir on my hand at about 4:00 in the afternoon and still smelled it the next morning! My skin and Patch (esp better ones) go very well together.

Yes, the lasting power is tremendous. My skin & patch rarely get along…but really like this one.

Patch and I get along very well, it turns vanilla-like on me.
ps-I love Montale’s Patch leaves too. What’s about the Patch Noir, Dolce, and Rosso, who makes those?

Hello, I think there are two Patch Noirs — I’ve been wearing the one from Il Profumo, but I believe there’s another. I think it has a wonderfully rich, woodsy aspect to it, and that soft, vegetal chocolate thing going on. The Dolce and Rosso are from I Profumi di Firenze. The sudden chill in the spring air had me really longing for patchouli!

Robin, I think we were separated at birth. I hate patchouli, remain ambivalent about Guerlain, and adore iris, too!

same here. Jalaines patchouli is the only ‘patchouli’ named fragrance I adore. I will say that 90-95% of my fragrances have patch in the base. I guess it like drinking coffee, i can’t drink mine black 🙂

Elixir Patchouli is easily one of my favourite patches. Excited to try this one out.

I have a feeling this one is going in the other direction (sheer) but worth giving it a shot!

This sounds beautiful. Putting it on my “must try” list. Very impressed that you like it too Robin, as a self-professed patch non-fan. I’m always trying to convince people who tell me they hate patch that they would enjoy one that is well-blended into the fragrance.

Well wait…I don’t like the one I’m announcing above — I haven’t even tried it yet! I like the Elixir Patchouli.

Until relatively recently, my sole association with patch was East Village head shop. Imagine my surprise when I learned it was in many of my favorite perfumes. Currently loving Patchouli Noir, Patchouly Dolce and Patchouly Rosso. Is the Elixir similar to any of them?

I am not a patch freak by any means & have not even heard of the second 2 you mention. It is not as spicy as the Histoires de Parfums Patchouli Noir, and doesn’t have that leather note.

You know, I wouldn’t have called myself a serious patch hag, but I suppose my perfume cabinet tells the true story. The Patch Noir I’m wearing is from Il Profumo. Now you have me going after yet another! I also really love the Patchouly Dolce (Profumi di Firenze), it might be too sweet for some people, I think it’s softened with tonka.

It sounds like the Elixir might be the patch that would work on me.
sigh….back to TPC….well, I guess I wouldn’t want my cart there to get cold and lonely with nothing in it.

I hate Patchouli fragrances, but for some reason since i love the Reminiscence line, decided to order this one. I LOVE it, its a sweet earthy patchouli scent, not dark and dirty as a lot of the are.
