A year’s supply is 12 bottles?! If they’re talking full-size bottles here, that sounds more like a 24-year supply!
At least! Or, 11 good gifts.
Right! Not that I would mind having 12 bottles … except that there are few Bond no. 9’s that I can wear well enough to want 12 bottles.
Ooh, this sounds so great…too bad I don’t live in the USA.
I am seething with rage at the moment. I bought a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle today, 50 ml, to give to my mom for mother’s day, only to find a different shop on the way home that had a better sale going on and the same bottle/amount was 17 euros cheaper.
Can anyone advise me how to go about finding good deals that will ship overseas, or to Spain?
I’m so depressed at the moment! And my temptation in order to fix the situation is to keep the perfume,. I know that doesn’t make any sense, but, trust me, it would work.
They don’t take returns? That’s really too bad. I know there are discounters in the US that will ship overseas, but suspect the extra shipping charges might wipe out the savings.
yeah, they would I think…but the sales girls were extremely nice to me, and despite my very extensive protests and admonishments, one of them took my unruly two year old in hand (and played with her, put make up on her, and perfume too, and also allowed her to spill makeup all over the counter and acted like it was the most adorable thing she’d ever seen)while I was making the purchase….they gave me a ton of samples and told me to come back and get more samples whenever I wanted…I feel terrible to go back and return it when they were so nice to me….
Oh, that is hard — not sure I’d be able to return either then.
Expatriot, Fragrancex (dot com) will ship free anywhere in the world. I have used them a few times and found the service quick, unless customs gets curious. Their customer service is also good.
Thanks very much for the suggestion….I will definitely check it out!
I really liked the Fragrancex site…I ordered two fragrances in the end, 212 by Carolina Herrera for my mom, since it will be cheaper, free, that is, to ship it to her(*and* I shall keep Coco Mademoiselle after all, heh heh), and a Lolita Lempicka for myself…there was a great deal on a 100ml bottle. Thank you so much again for your suggestion, I do hope that the shipping goes well!
Sorry, I didn’t introduce myself, bc I used to post on this site under the name bluesette…but my password didn’t work so I had to re-register. I’m the one with the broken perfumes. Oh, and my husband broke my last bottle of perfume, which was the last straw for me, and I’ve sentenced myself to 6 months without perfume. 3 broken bottles in one year is not normal. Hmm, I should have registered as Brokenbottle or something like that.
Hi Blusette, & welcome back! 3 bottles is an awful lot, but I certainly wouldn’t punish myself by not buying more. Maybe find a better way to keep them safe?
you’re right, the answer would be, keep them in the closet at all times, never carry them around in my purse…but I’ve told myself that one before. After the second broken bottle. That is why I punished myself. Until I learn the value of perfume, no more for me, missy!
I’ve been frequenting perfume boutiques a lot more as a consequence. And I definitely need to find a cheaper way to buy them than at retail price. I’m a little hesitant to order online…I’ve no perfume ordering experience.
Oh, but you can do so much better price-wise online! Highly encourage comparison shopping, and maybe you’d be less upset if you didn’t pay full price?
yes…I know you’re right. I need to find an online discount place that ships to spain with no elevated shipping costs….
I should admit that I like the store experience though. I like the salespeople showing me different perfumes, the bags they give me and the samples….that sounds like a silly reason to buy at retail price, but….
I just need to investigate a bit and try to find deals and somewhere online that is close to where I live, so it will ship with no big difficulties.
Hi Expa nee Bluesette! How are these bottles getting broken? Here’s an easy solution that is good for your juice too…..buy yourself about a dozen reusable 10ml atomizers at one of the decant supply sites. When you buy a new FB, immediately decant 10ml, label the atomizer (so you’ll keep them straight and also to make sure that you only refill with the same perfume) and place the rest of the FB in a cool dark place (cabinet, refrigerator, basement etc.) —in your case it might even be a good idea to buy plastic or aluminum cased decant atomizers or at least the heavy glass kind. But don’t punish yourself with no new juice! That’s inhumane!
Hi Daisy!
thanks a lot for the advice….your suggestion sounds good….However, I’ve never decanted, and although I’ve read the article on how to decant properly….I think I’d be scared I’d muddle it up somehow. I’m such a disaster when it comes to perfume.
Ah, and my bottles got broken the following way:
1) Unpacking from a trip, the bottle was next to my camera and other objects on the sofa, I didn’t even leave the room, just turned my back, but enough for my daughter to waddle up, grab it and throw it on the floor.
2) My husband was moving my handbag and dropped it…perfume was inside and boxed, but broke anyway.
3) my ownself…I picked up my purse the wrong way and the bottle fell out and broke. I got my facts mixed up before, the last one that got broken was my own fault.
After each one of these (psychologically painful) incidents, I tried to mend my ways, but there always would come a day when I’d be in a hurry to get out of the house, and since perfuming myself is something I don’t like to do in a hurry, I’d bring the perfume in my bag in order to spray myself somewhere eventually….
Maybe get some decant-sized bottles for your purse? Then you won’t have to carry the whole thing.
I don’t want 12 bottles of anything, unless it’s to sell on eBay. 12 bottles is an excellent way to get irrevocably sick of a fragrance.
LOL — yes, it is.
LOL no kidding—-I’d head for scentsplits .
what a world, where 12 bottles is a year’s supply. can i ask for 12 different fragrances?
Sorry, I don’t know.
Jeez….you think a guy could get away with registering for this giveaway? Could Saks really decline to register a male? I think I’ll give it a try. I would have no problem picking 12 from this line (I already own five). And if I fail, perhaps they will do the same for Father’s Day…..but I seriously doubt it.
Well, I should think you’d be allowed to register in the name of your mom, or somebody’s mom!
