The trade show Perfume Expo America (PXA) will be held in New York City on June 9 through the 12th at the Jacob Javits Convention Center:
PXA is a selective event where classic and emerging perfume brands as well as skin care and cosmetic lines can present to independent American perfumeries, department stores buyers, duty free operators, selective pharmacies, apothecary stores, speciality stores and the press.
This year, PXA will be opening its doors to bloggers and blog readers on Thursday, June 11 (9-6) and Friday, June 12 (9-Noon):
...join the industry to celebrate the renaissance of true perfumery. Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to participate in Perfume workshops, vote for a perfume award, visit a perfume museum from Grasse, participate in beauty polls and surveys and of course sample many fragrances.
If you're interested in attending, I have 150 tickets to give away — just send an email to robin at nstperfume dot com with the subject line "PXA", and I'll email you a ticket that you can print. Do note that you'll also have to register online; instructions will be included in the email.
If you have a question, please post it below (don't send it in an email as I'll be using an automated system to send the invitations and so won't see your message), and please note that it may be several days before you receive your invitation.
Update: the tickets are all taken!
Another perfume blog had a link to the online registration a few days ago, and I filled it out, thinking that would be enough to get me in — I guess I need a ticket too, huh?! (I sent you an e-mail — thanks!)
And if any other NST-ers are planning to go, it might be fun to try to meet up…
I am told you must have the printed ticket plus have registered online, but I suppose people will find out when they get there…I have no way of knowing what will happen at the door!
Dang, it would be nice to be in NYC that week (wheels are turning…). Very curious about this. Wish they’d do one on the West Coast. Imagine how quickly you’d get olfactory fatigue though!
Joe, I don’t know if there are any beauty trade shows on the WC, but it seems like there must be? I don’t know, don’t pay a lot of attention to trade shows.
Huh. I, too, registered (I’ll be in NYC then) and got an email telling me I was all set, but with nary a word about tickets. I bet they’re going to have some troubles at the door…
Just emailed them for info–I’ll share the reply.
I also registered. Usually with trade shows, once you are registered in their system, you can just show up with proper ID and you will get your pass that day. I’m a buyer so I go to alot of trade shows…..children’s clothing and shoes.
A, I had already emailed them to verify that you had to have a printed ticket…but as I said, can’t say what will happen at the door if you don’t have one.
I’ve registered on the site. Does that mean I will be getting tickets? If not, I’d love a pair!
I don’t know, but if you want me to send you a ticket, follow the instructions in the article!
Ha, I should do that, shouldn’t I?
