As previously reported, golfer Annika Sorenstam will launch her debut fragrance, Annika by Annika Sorenstam, this spring. The new perfume promises to "evoke the essence of Annika, a distinctive, casually elegant and naturally beautiful woman".
The fragrance notes include mandarin, grapefruit, neroli, passionflower, marine accord, gardenia, black pepper, frankincense, freesia, cyclamen, rose, jasmine, orchid, heliotrope, carnation, orange blossom, narcissus, sandalwood, amber, musk, oakmoss, tonka bean, leather and benzoin.
Annika by Annika Sorenstam will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be pre-ordered now at annikafragrance.
Annika Sorenstam will sign autographs and preview the fragrance at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami on Saturday, March 14 from 11 am through 12:45 pm. The event will be held on the upper level of the Pro Shop (a clubhouse or VIP ticket is required to enter the Pro Shop).

WIth the exception of the marine accord, the rest sounds good! Isn't she retired from golf now?
Wikipedia says she has “stepped away from” pro golf, yes.
I'm with you, Lizbeth — it sounds really nice other than that dreaded marine accord. And I admire Annika, but I don't see a big groundswell of fans rising up to buy a fragrance with her name on it. This whole celebuscent thing is out of control…
… but it MUST work, or the marketing people wouldn't keep doing it.
I'm guessing this will sell in pro shops, and do well there…but freely admit I'd never heard of her before announcing this perfume late last year. Then again, I've only heard of maybe 2 or 3 golfers since I don't really pay attention to any sports.
there are so many notes listed here that I have no idea what this would smell like! My life is so much easier when only a few notes are listed.
I'm not sure what a 'marine accord' would smell like—I just had a vision of a starfish in a bucket (shades of Patrick & sponge bob?) but that can't be right.
I'm kinda feeling the grapefruit thing these days, maybe it's because I'm so winter-weary
Marine accord is the same as “aquatic accord” — means it has calone or some other aromachemical meant to smell like water or sea breeze or however you want to describe it.
ok, at first I read 'cahones' which of course would be cajones badly spelled and well, just wrong…
aquatic accord…ok, my only experience with the sea would actually be the Gulf of Mexico…and where I was it didn't smell exactly fresh or breezy. But I get the idea , thank you.
today I'm sampling Juliette has a Gun Citizen Queen. So I'm a long ways away from aquatic accords in general. mmmm, I love the roses! (montale roses musk on the other wrist. more mmmm)
“cahones accord!” Juvenile giggling. (Sorry to all you real adults.)
I've got OJ Frangipani on from my sample vial today, so am spending the afternoon in gorgeous virtual Hawaii. Which is a good thing, because I'm starting to work on the farm taxes.
imagine cows in grass skirts, maybe with a lovely hibiscus blossom tucked behind one furry ear~~ to imagine this properly I'd have to know what kind of cows you have–holsteins, jersey, gurnsey, herfords? we always had a couple tricky angus and some sweet, friendly charolet and semintol..,an eclectic pasture.
This news made me laugh mainly because Annika is such a professional and the perfume looks so…cheap, like a crappy cologne you wore in high school…That aside, I'm thinking she should've made a fragrance with a gras smell, surely that element would've been perfect to explore. The scent will probably not sell a lot but the notes sound nice.
there you go! It should have been a green, grassy , fresh air fragrance! maybe a little bit of sand…
Juvenile giggling is always allowed 🙂
OJ Frangipani is one of my all time favorites. Taxes, not so much.
It does not look like a luxury release, it's true. Again, I don't know anything about her though, or whether or not she could have supported a luxury release.
That's quite a list. =o
Had a friend named Annika. Bad associations there…. Too bad; it's a cool list of notes.
Money saved then 🙂
I smelled this in Miami – a friend of mine was invited. It is by and large a rich orangeflower musk, with more limey and gardenia notes on top. It was not terrible but probably more old fashioned than I had imagined. I too thought she would go for a light springy green floral.
Interesting, I would have thought they’d do something light also…wonder if it will sell.
