Paul Smith Rose Summer Edition, Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Magic Honeymoon ~ new perfumes

Posted by Robin on 12 February 2009 12 Comments

Paul Smith Rose Summer fragrancePaul Smith will introduce Paul Smith Rose Summer Edition next month. The new limited edition fragrance for women is a follow-up to 2007's Paul Smith Rose.

Like the original Rose, Rose Summer Edition was developed by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu. The opening is enriched with lemon, and the heart adds green apple and pink pepper to the original's fragrance notes.

Paul Smith Summer Rose Edition will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via cosmoty.de)

Also coming in March, Baby Doll Magic Honeymoon, a new flanker to Yves Saint Laurent's Baby Doll perfume, first introduced in 1999:

The scent is being positioned as a romantic summer offering, and is designed to evoke a typical tropical honeymoon destination. The fruity-floral juice opens on notes of passion fruit, redcurrant and rhubarb, leading to a heart of passion flower, jasmine and wild rose. The dry-down combines musk and cedar wood.

Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Magic Honeymoon will be available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette. (via moodiereport)

I totally read that box as “Paestum Rose” and thought “Oh Dear No! Not a PR flanker!!!” PHEW!

Must be! YSL really knows how to crank out the flankers…

Its a shame the original paul smith rose never made it to the states so this one probably wont either.

Baby Doll Magic Honeymoon???? My head hurts just hearing the name…I don't think I could bring myself ever, ever to buy it no matter how good it smells. Apparently I have some standards here (she notes to her surprise).

It is at the discounters, but you're probably right that it never made it into department stores — at least, I never saw it.

It seriously might just get my vote for “worst flanker name ever”.

No, I think Moon Sparkle for Men is the absolute worst name ever, but this is quite good in its badness.

LOL! It's a matter of taste. “Moon Sparkle for men” is delightfully ridiculous to me, it makes me *really* LOL. “Baby Doll Magic Honeymoon”, I don't know, it mostly makes me roll my eyes. “Hello Kitty Baby Doll Magic Honeymoon” — that would be perfect. And it “works”, you know?

Mmm lemon and rose – these two go surprisingly well together.

I like citrus-y roses very much…would like to try this one.
