Nina Ricci Love by Nina ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 February 2009 31 Comments

Love by Nina from Nina Ricci perfumesComing next month from Nina Ricci: Love by Nina, a new limited edition flanker to 2006's Nina fragrance for women (see also: last year's Nina Pretty fragrance).

The original Nina fragrance has been reworked by perfumer Olivier Cresp, who transformed the apple notes with the additions of frangipani and almond-flavored cherry blossoms.

I'll add sizes & concentration when I can find them. (via vogue.fr)

Other recent launches from Nina Ricci: L'Air du Printemps.

They ripped off the Twilight bottle! Someone should sue them!
I can't believe I'm saying this, but that bottle is actually very, very pretty. Very pretty indeed.

It is pretty, isn't it? I think I could convince myself I like the notes too.

it sure is a nice bottle. and no need to worry, nina ricci did already do the sueing. i just wish the juice was anything i could like, but it's not. and this new one doesn't really give any hope…

I'm not much for buying juice just for the pretty bottle, but I might have to break that rule for this one. I don't know why – they all sit in the dark and often still in their boxes. Sigh… maybe when it hits the discounters.

    LOL!

I have to say, I had been getting just a little sick of elegant, minimalist bottles that you could sell olive oil in. Pretty and fun is a good thing.

Pyramus, Twilight is probably already in the process of filing a suit.

I like this one better than the original red too.

Everybody puts almond in the cherry these days, seems like. But I'd like it better if they left out the apple, myself…

as much as I love to EAT apples, I have zero desire to smell like one….sour? tangy? don't think so……however it is a very cute bottle…..not that I'm influenced by the bottle mind you….. today I'm busy sniffing my wrist which is covered in Bond no9 Chinatown….now there's some interesting juice (don't need a bottle though).

On an aside: last week's triple lazy wednesday poll has been a real smash! so very many posts—another poll would be such fun (hint hint hint)

[Stretches, shrugs] I dunno. Apple isn't something I want to smell like, and cherry marzipan doesn't push my buttons either. All three of those notes have never reached a really good imitation in the synthetics, that marzipan note can smell like Play-Doh or plastic doll head. Think I'll pass, even if it's in an adorable bottle.

They're basic apple scents, & kind of doubt Love by Nina will be much more than that. Pretty bottles though! I must have been brain dead for my last comment — didn't understand “Nina Plain” but you meant just “regular” Nina, I'm sure.

this is a little weird. i sent nina ricci a message about “nina plain”, asking them for any info about it, and i just got a message back from them saying that it was never a nina ricci scent. its weird because it came in a box just like nina and nina pretty. the bottle is exactly like them as well. nothing about it looks fake to me. i dont know what to think.

I think that’s what everyone has already agreed, but the 1987 Nina bottle was different.
