Guerlain Heritage Case ~ new limited edition coffret

Posted by Robin on 10 February 2009 11 Comments

Available now at Selfridges in the UK: the Guerlain Heritage Case, a collector's edition (205 sets will be sold worldwide) comprising 18 Guerlain fragrances in a a leather case. Selfridges only lists two of the 18 fragrances (Eau de Cologne Impériale & Cruel Gardénia), but others I can make out in the picture include Vetiver, L'Instant, Bois d'Armenie, Iris Ganache. The price, not surprisingly, is not listed online.

If anyone calls to find out how much it is or what else is in there, do let us know, and many thanks to Christine for the link!

Update: a reader (thanks Susan!) says it retails for £734.

Another update: another reader (thanks Jacob!) says it goes for £2200, and it includes Angélique Noire, Bois d’Arménie, Cologne du 68, Cologne Impériale, Cuir Beluga, Habit Rouge, Insolence, Iris Ganache, Jicky, L'Heure Bleue, L’Instant, L’Instant pour Homme, Mitsouko, Nahema, Rose Barbare, Samsara, Shalimar and Vetiver. He also notes that you can see a similar case at the monsieurguerlain blog (scroll down); that version was introduced last year.

Geez! That looks wonderful…. thank goodness I can't be tempted, the price is too much for my wallet!

This would be like the Holy Grail if you are a Guerlain lover, isn't it? I have to admit there are quite a few I love on this list and oh oh! sorry if my drool is showing on the comment box…;)

It's a nice set, but not my holy grail…has too many scents I don't care about & not enough of the ones I do care about. Still, I'd take one if somebody gave it to me, LOL…

I saw last year's version at Bergdorf Goodman back in December. Stunning…but essentially silly, especially given the price (and I am a Guerlain lover).

I wonder if anybody is still buying this sort of luxury item? The “word” is that the rich are spending less on this kind of status item.

Who knows? It is not a hardship so I don't worry about it. Relatively few fragrance brands are helpful, so not meaning to single them out.
