What exactly are “waterfruits”? Is that even a word?

The bottles don't look very Victoria's Secret sexy. =/

Guessing waterfruits is a nice euphemism for calone, or some similar aromachemical :-)

Wow, Dream Angels sure has a lot of flankers, doesn't it?

There is Heavenly, Divine and Halo. Years and years passed before Desire came out, and it's been over a year at least, and now this. I don't think there is another flanker is there?

This one sounds more interesting then the last one. I did love the white flower, Divine. This one seems like a lot of white flowers, but more tempered than Divine. I hope they didn't over do the vanilla. I might buy this one if so.

    joy,

    becca

Why is this a fruity fragrance? The only fruit I see is grapefruit in the opening? Excepting bergomot, the only other fruity things I see are fruit flowers. Do they smell like the fruit? Or is “fruity oriental” something V.S. thought of to appeal to a younger market?

    A lot of ?'s,

    Becca

Oh no, don't tell me grapefruit is not an opening note…

Wrong! I also forgot the nebulous water fruits. I am having fun posting to myself. Well this is one place you can't take it back.

…I still don't think it sounds very fruity. ; D

Heavenly Kiss! Crap I just saw that. I haven't been reading my V.S. catalogues lately! Seriously, I've never saw them push so fast!

I'm a Victoria's Secret Angel member, I should know these things.

All the Dream Angel bottles look like this.

This really raises my eyebrows; grapefruit is my favorite opening, cashmere woods is my favorite basenote and orange flower is one of my favorite flowers!

    hope, hope, hope,

    Joy,

    Becca

Becca, it's important to remember that lists of notes are not the same as “ingredient” lists. It is possible that “fruity oriental” is something they said to appeal to a younger market, but it's also possible that there are all kinds of fruits in there.

I wish Victoria's Secret hadn't gone to their own head. I remember when they were new over here. The quality of the clothes were better, they only had two or three fragrances, Victoria was the first fragrance and I still have the bottle. It is lovely and stately. It is long gone. None of them were remotely “fruity or sweet”. They still make Rapture- a lush Bulgarian rose in the faceted heart shaped. elegant and romantic bottle.

Now they are going Fredericks of Hollywood.

“sexified and cheapified”, catering more to youth.

They still make great swimsuits and have lots of designer goods in their catalog.

It's sad for me, cause I used to really love them.

They have lost their romance. Now even if they do come up with a good fragrance, who would know? I just seems the perfume blogs are pained by them. Well at least they know what sells.

I hope I like Wish cause I really like most of the notes they listed.

    Kinda sad :-(

    Fallen angel Becca

I’m a year late to the conversation, but I so agree with you.

Here's how old I am – I first went to V.S. when it was one store on Union Street in San Francisco! Then they moved downtown, but were still a lingerie specialist, then they expanded, then got sold, now they are what they are. Sigh.

Oh, what am I complaining about? I can't fit my T or my A into anything they sell anyway.

Becca, I don't know that I'm pained by them — I don't care for the few I've tried in store, but admit freely I don't give them much of a chance. The reason is simple: I can't get samples.

I went to the store yesterday and had a sniff. i really like this one! It's subtle and warm, cozy and pretty. It doesn't scream – it whispers. Sweetly. I'll be getting a bottle soon….

Very few companies send samples, I meant more that I can't even get them in the store.

eww! just smelled the scent strip in Allure mag of Dream Angels Wish… this is awful! Hilariously so! I could never wear something so sweet. The mandarin-vanilla blend makes me think of cKin2U Her, but it's even more sweet….. and I always get a strange curdling horror when I have to smell citrus with vanilla cream…

Now the dry down (yes, of the Allure mag scent strip rubbed onto my arm lol) is so fatty and oily. ugh
