Escada has launched Ocean Lounge, their limited edition "summer fashion" fragrance for women for 2008:
Ocean Lounge, the evocative new limited-edition fragrance from Escada. The scent is a blend of fruity overtones and floral undertones creating a fresh, modern fragrance that evokes the spirit of summer.
The notes for Ocean Lounge include lychee, plum, pear nectar accord, strawberry meringue accord, violet petal sorbet, mimosa blossom, jasmine, ambery notes, sheer vanilla and teakwood.
Escada Ocean Lounge is available in 50 or 100 ml Toilette, and can be found now at Nordstrom. I do not know if there is a matching scent for men this year, but if one appears, I'll post an update.
Recent summer fragrances from Escada include Pacific Paradise (2005), Sunset Heat (2006) and Moon Sparkle (2007).
Comptoir Sud Pacifique has launched Hémisphère Sud, a new fragrance for women inspired by the South Seas and a voyage from Brazil to Asia.
The spicy aquatic floral fragrance features notes of orange, black pepper, pink pepper, jasmine, peony, lotus, patchouli, vanilla, amber and musk.
Comptoir Sud Pacifique Hémisphère Sud is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via comptoir-sud-pacifique)
Other recent launches from Comptoir Sud Pacifique: Eau des Lagons.
I just have to ask…WHY is Escada launching a summer perfume now, in mid september, when almost everyone is reaching for their fall perfumes and sweaters. I suppose it doesn't really matter, though, because that just sounds like a pink cloud of fruity-floral attrocity. I had hoped we might be getting over that a bit. 🙂 But the demographic they'll more than likely attract with those notes probably won't care if it's more of a summer fragrance.
Maybe it's for people on the Southern Hemisphere…??
They are early this year, usually they don't appear until Nov-Dec — but maybe Nordstrom just has an early exclusive? And they're ALWAYS fruity floral, and as near as I can tell, that's what the Escada audience wants. They do seem to sell.
They're supposedly tied to the summer fashion collection, which of course appears long before summer.
“The scent is a blend of fruity overtones and floral undertones”…and just how precisely does this differ from about 99% of the rest of their line?
One more (perfume) drop in the fruity floral 'ocean' – oh joy.
Hémisphère Sud contains black pepper AND pink pepper — think i'll be sneezing this one off.
Hémisphère Sud looks good on the picture:)) You know, I used to love Escada when I was about 15 years old and every girl my age had to have it? It is funny the way time goes by so quickly – we don't even realise it. Now, just 6 years later I am reading about Escada's new launch and I think to myself: another Pink-girl launch, sigh… and just 6 years back I'd be running to the perfume store in a big rush trying to sample it!
The Escada customers love the different variations launched every year. They have a loyal fan base and I think they capitalize on it. I think it's interesting that their clothing is so different; Laura Bush wears Escada, but I don't see her putting on Moon Sparkle any time soon.
Ocean Lounge sounds similar to Moon Sparkle; MS also has the strawberry accord.
A summer fragrance released in the Fall?? Must be timing for when summer collections show on the runway?
Hémisphère Sud, might give a try if I see it, I always like giving their scents a sniff.
They all sound similar to each other, it's true!
All they need is a new bottle every year, it doesn't matter 🙂
LOL — perhaps!
Time does race by, doesn't it? But wonder if the Escada fan-base has aged up, or if it's still big w/ 15 year olds.
Exactly how they time it, although it's still a bit early this year. Probably a soft launch and the official launch isn't til later.
Is CSP using glass bottles now instead of their signature metal canisters? This one doesn't sound tempting in any case.
I'm actually surprised that Escada is launching their 2009 summer edition now. I had really hoped Moon Sparkle would take them away from the beachy thing, but I guess not.
For the record though, before like 2001, their annual summer fragrances weren't all tropical-punch like. In fact, in 2000 they had Lily Chic, which was a crazy bright floral fragrance, and no fruit that I could detect. Another great past one from them was Que Viva (like 1996 I think).
What, no Ocean Lounge For Men? The disappointment is simply crushing.
I hope not — I like the metal canisters.
It probably is just a soft launch.
Wonder if Moon Sparkle didn't sell as well as the others?
Has anyone got to try the Hémisphère Sud yet? If so how peppery is the pepper-ness? To much? Or enough to make it interesting?
HA, I'll bet one is on the way.
Not me, sorry. Don't think it will get to the US for awhile.
I remember Lily Chic it was a lovely floral, and I don't DO florals.
Someone made me a present of Sexy Grafitti back in 2001 or 2002, from the same collection, there was a blueberry note like all fragrances back then, but on occasion it wasn't bad at all. Somehow it could cut through the cigarette smoke in the disco and be noticed.
In fact I think smokers should wear fruity florals they mix with cigarette smoke quite well. Try Lacoste Touch of Pink, for example.
Does Escada have anything memorable at all from its line? I have never had even one Escada perfume.
Lots of people at MakeupAlley love Escada Collection. I've never owned one either though.
I saw the new Escada at nordstrom. Its called Marina Groove. I liked it alot more then Ocean Lounge. My moms name is Marina so I just might have to get it for her. Its a fun fruity floral.
Thanks, I didn’t even know it was out yet!
