Bill Blass Couture ~ new perfumes

Posted by Robin on 5 September 2008 15 Comments

Bill Blass Couture fragrance

Bill Blass has introduced Bill Blass Couture, "timeless couture translated into a luxury modern fragrance collection". The first four scents in the series are:

Couture 1 ~ Includes white tuberose, mandarin zest, peach blossom, clove and orange blossom. Developed by perfumer Pierre-Constantin Guéros.

Couture 3 (shown) ~ Featuring sandalwood, bergamot flower, apple blossom, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, rose, black pepper, pimento and vanilla. Developed by perfumer Valérie Garnuch.

Couture 6 ~ With notes of rose, apple blossom, blackberries and patchouli. By perfumer Pierre-Constantin Guéros.

Couture 7 ~ Notes include bitter orange, cedrat, pink pomelo, tarragon and orange blossom. By perfumer Delphine Jelk.

The Bill Blass Couture fragrances will be in 75 ml Eau de Parfum; the bottles feature designs inspired by fabrics used in the Blass fashion line. The collection will be exclusive to Saks for the next 6 months. Later this year, a coffret of travel-sized sprays will be added to the range, then look for new fragrances to be introduced every year. Wish they'd have put more detailed descriptions on their website — hard to tell from just the notes. They're at Saks for ages so I won't get to try them anyway, so makes no different to me :-)

    1, 3, 6 and 7? Were 2, 4 and 5 too horrid to release?

I like the sound of #1. Luckily, there's a Saks not terribly far from me. Have they arrived at the stores yet?

WWD said next week — but I'd call, they might be there already.

These all sound nice to me and all seem fairly unisex….except for No. 6. But you never know! I do indeed love Mure et Musc. Does anyone know a price point for these yet? BB's webiste is offering a free sample and I ordered No. 1–being the white floral freak that I am.

For those unfamiliar with the clothes, the number of the fragrance refers to the patterns of the fashion….they are not random, and they are not missing any :)
