Taiwan-based Asus has launched the F6 series of limited edition scented laptops:
Enjoy a breath of fresh air in the world of personal laptops and celebrate individuality with the ASUS F6 scented notebooks. The compact and stylish F6 engages the eyes with attractive motifs and for the first time, our sense of smell with infused scents*. Available in four captivating designs, these special edition notebooks not only look good, but are also expressions of the user’s taste and character!
There are four designs with corresponding scents; Morning Dew (shown, green with ozonic scent), Floral Blossom (pink, floral scent), Musky Black (self-explanatory) and Aqua Ocean (blue, aquatic scent). The company notes that the "lifespan of fragrance depends on actual usage". (via asus, found via cosmeticsinternational.net)
Novel, but unnecessary. Am I so desperate for scented items in my life that I need a smelly laptop? Don't think so.
Would probably annoy me, but still amuses me to know somebody is doing it 🙂
Where does the asterisk link to?
Sorry about that — to the statement that the scent won't last forever (see above about lifespan).
You confused me a bit! I've got a (non-smelly) Asus EeePC, and when I saw this in my RSS feed I thought I'd got my Geeky RSS's muddled up with my Scenty RSS's!
Have to keep those feeds strictly segregated 😉
I guess this was a natural follow-up to the scented cell phones.
Yep. Wonder what other “appliances” we'll see scented…
Maybe someday the much-vaunted “smellavision”?
Why don't they make scented refrigerators? I had something go bad in mine the other day and that would have come in handy. Scented blowdryers would be cool too. I don't think I see the point of a scented laptop. Then again, I only have a desktop. 🙂
I've very nearly got a scented keyboard just as an occupational hazard, LOL…
Coming soon, I'm sure!
LOL. So if you had to spill a bottle on your keyboard, which would you choose???
This scented laptop thing is pretty dorky, I think.
Something short-lived, I hope! Agree, it's kind of dorky, but I guess it doesn't hurt.
