Tova Signature Summer ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 8 June 2008 11 Comments

Tova Signature Summer perfumeTova has launched Tova Signature Summer, a "lovely summery twist on Tova Signature eau de parfum that includes additional notes embodying the warmth and spirit of relaxing, carefree summer days"; Tova Borgnine describes it as "clean and sensual with a tickle of sunshine".

The additional notes include amethyst calla lily, California grapefruit, and pink cyclamen. The original Tova Signature fragrance has notes of "rare bergamot citrus", jasmine, lavender, sandalwood and musk.

Tova Signature Summer is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, or in 30 ml sold in a duo with the original Tova Signature. (via qvc except second quote via gcimagazine)

I've only recently realised that Tova's signature scent is available via the UK's QVC shopping channel. I'm kind of tempted, apart from the rumour I've heard that it's been reformulated and is not as good as 'the real deal'. If anyone tries this one, I'd be grateful to know if it's similary less good…

I haven't tried either, but there are lots of comments on the QVC site (and I've seen them on MUA as well) complaining about the reformulation — might be best to withstand the temptation.

First I heard of this was on The Soup last night. A totally hysterical clip of Tova herself on QVC being completely incomprehensible about herself and her perfume.

I was very fortunate to meet Tova & her charming hubby recently, at a pre-Fifi party. What a lovely and gracious woman! She actually asked to meet *me*, because she is a fan of Sniffapalooza, and I thought I was going to faint right there…!
We talked fragrance for almost an hour, and Tova is a true lover of scent. This stuff comes from her soul, and I appreciate that. I am totally smitten with her and her fragrances, and I am a fan for life. Thanks for the review, I'll definitely be buying this one!

I can’t even find Tova on a Sniffapalooza search. It’s as if the site doesn’t recognize the name. I love the site. But it’s odd that she would be a fan.

I would guess many people who don’t appear on the Sniffa site are fans of Sniffa?

I wonder how the staying power is?

Worth checking the customer reviews at QVC, they seem to be pretty honest!

Tova Signature was the only scent I wore for years. People loved it ridiculously. Men literally followed me around stores and even the Reptile House in the Bronx Zoo, while other people stopped me in the middle of Manhattan subways (where your olfactory senses are assaulted by all kinds of interesting smells) to ask me what I was wearing….all and only because of Tova. I was devastated when the formula changed and have subsequently tried a few different re-inventions of the scent. Nothing comes close, sadly.
