New fragrances & solid perfumes from Pacifica

Posted by Robin on 5 March 2008 37 Comments

Pacifica Solid PerfumesPacifica has launched six new fragrances and a line of solid perfumes. The new fragrances are:

Thai Lemongrass ~ "A grassy, lemon scent, with slightly spicy and earthy undertones make this an exotic, warm, and fresh fragrance."

French Lilac ~ "The essence of fresh lilacs is blended with magnolia leaves, heliotrope, and the subtle notes of the nectarine. Perfumed in a traditional French style, this is the absolute best lilac you will ever find."

Malibu Lemon Blossom ~ "Fragrant notes of litsea cubeba, flowering angel's trumpet, fresh herbs and sea breezes. This scent captures the free spirit of the Pacific Coast."

Bali Lime Papaya ~ "The scent of sumptuous and slightly musky papaya is brought together with bright green Indonesian kaffir lime and the sweet notes of lime blossoms in this fragrant and lush tropical blend."

Hawaiian Ruby Guava ~ "This tropical blend is predominately made up of sweet berry-like notes of the guava, with a citrusy top note of pomelo in a very subtle warm base of coconut."

Brazilian Mango Grapefruit ~ "A cross between peach and apricot, with pineapple undertones, here the sultry, fleshy mango mingles with the bright tartness of grapefruit."

All of the fragrances listed above are available in 36 ml for $19.95 each. Pacifica has also launched a new collection of solid perfumes (shown above) for $8.95 each. (via pacificacandles)

I gave a friend June Jacobs Spa last year (the powder note didn't agree with me) – she loved it! The citrus versions of these fragrances sound right up her alley, especially in solid form. Will let you know how they go over….I'm assuming, from your posting, that you have not yet tried these?

I've only tried one Pacifa scent so far, the fig, although I've a sample of the Sandalwood waiting patiently. Haven't tried any of the solids. Do let me know how they are!

i tend to really like pacifica's candles. they are just so…. yummy. im eager to try these solid perfumes. at this time of year, with a few weeks of amazing weather, it seems perfect. nothing too serious. and of course with that price, you can stock up and make a veritable smoothie on your skin. haha

The lemon blossom is very nice. The kind of thing you'd like to tuck into your travel bag.

I love Pacifica, and I will definitely look into the solid perfumes, but I'm concerned by how similar the tins of perfume are to my tins of lip balm. That has the potential for disaster.

I have the Fig, Mountain Temple, and Vanilla. The Vanilla is okay as a layering agent (but not with the mountain temple on me–ugh!). I like it with both the Fig and I tried it once with the Pacifica Neroli in store and the combo was a winner.

I wear the Fig once a week or so, but I love the Mountain Temple–it is all ginger (fresh and dried) with a bit of woods and incense to anchor it. It isn't terrbily long-lasting but I do get two-three hours out of three sprays. It is one of my favorite at home comfort scents.

My average on the Pacifica scents is better than Demeter, plus you can try some of them at Whole Foods while you pick up your quinoa and coffee.

Hey, did you try all of those in solid or liquid?

Mountain Temple sounds like something I need!

I like Pacifica candles , and now I'm curious about their fragrances as I'm always looking for a good cheap thrill. Tuscan Blood Orange sounded good until I read that it has “juicy” raspberry and strawberry notes. How was the Fig, Robin? Any lasting power? I'm assuming these are all fairly weak in strength.

Uh oh, I just discovered that Voluspa has Room/Body sprays. I may need to pick up some Baltic Amber soon since that's indescribably yummy. Thankfully, another very cheap thrill.

Oh happy happy joy joy! They are releasing a lilac fragrance yay!!

I hope the spray perfume smells as wonderful as their soap and body butter which to me smell like heaven. I will probably snap up both the fragrance and solid as soon as I can find them. Can't wait to try the lemon blossom too!

Joe, Kevin likes the Voluspa sprays — he did a couple reviews of them.

I like the fig, and you can find that review too under “Perfume Reviews” up top — too lazy this a.m. to go get you the link 😉

Robin How does fig smell? Figs taste very soft and sweet when you eat them fresh so can't really imagine a scent made out of it. Fig leaf as in Jardin En Mediterranee that I've tried and like the leaf so so.

Fig in perfume smells like fig in perfume — in other words, hard to describe, it's a recognizeable smell once you've smelled a fig perfume, but is only vaguely related to the real thing. If you've smelled JeM I think you get the general idea, and I don't think there is really any difference between “fig leaf” and “fig”, it is just a way of describing whatever synthetic aroma material they using.

Once I looked it up, I realized I had read it while going through your whole “fig” series of reviews. I'm also a sucker for fig and so glad you turned me on to Philosykos.

Thanks also for pointing me to Kevin's Voluspa reviews. These all sound like some really good cheap thrills.

OK I'll keep the fig leaf in mind and try to ease it into something a little softer, less outspoken, a tiny bit sweeter and a little less green.

I love figs, fresh, warm out of the oven with some goat cheese and dried as well, sweet earthy crunchy.

The next step is smelling fig in a fragrance.

Joe, I liked the body/room sprays from Voluspa better than their regular perfume collections, and they're cheaper too.

    Marianne,

I just came from a day of perfume sniffing and hunting – JeM was one of my re-finds…when I first tried it I was underwhelmed, preferring Sur la Nil but tried it again and LOVE it! Not sure if it's the fig leaves but it is just a bit softer than SlaN.

Hope you're having an enjoyable weekend.

ps. tried the Pacifica fragrances, too – liked the fig fragrance they have (can't remember the name), though it's not very complex. Stays on for awhile!

Mamabear, may be I ought to try JeM another time. I didn't mind the fig leaf but thought the cedarwood was too 'smoky' a tiny bit like cigarsmoke.

By the way, haven't found Piguet anywhere yet. Will keep looking though.

Do you like Prada Infusion d'Iris? I do! Found it in Amsterdam, decided to buy it back in Prague then but Prada is nowhere available here. Will have to wait till april then.

You have a nice weekend too 😉

Sorry you don't like the smoky part of JeM – I think I just fell in love with 'smoky' this past month! T42 started it all and I am loving Delrae's Bois de Paradis, though it's freaking out my friends 🙂

I had a HUGE Perfume Day on Thursday (everything from Serge Lutens and Frederic Malle to Mariah Carey's new scent (no, thanks!:-)…can't wait to try them all.

The Prada Id'I ris smelled like water in its EdT form but I have the EdP as a sample – will let you know. I suspect it will be a very subtle scent, which can work well for summer, I think. I am loving Serge's Gris Clair but I think that will be for summer as well.

On the Piguet fragrances, go to the website and request – perhaps they will send you some. If not, check out the Sephoras as you are traveling on holiday! The Perfumed Court may also do samples, which might even be easier (theperfumedcourt.com).

I have a Sunday full of chores. Dang.

Did I mention the Pacifica fig perfume is nice? You might like that and I'll bet they can ship to Prague by post pretty cheaply., if you're not in a hurry for it

Mamabear, did ask Piguet for samples, maybe they will still arrive..just hope so.

Must try Jardin en Mediterannee again. Tried both JslN and JeM at the same time and that is no comparison.

Also awaiting some samples by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Amazing how skin chemistry works, for with me JslN is most of the time grapefruit and mango and only at the very end the wonderful incense comes out. That is why I like Infusion d'Iris so much: the incense appears pretty quickly.

Had a long stroll through Prague with DHb, the weather was very nice, Easter markets everywhere, late lunch/early dinner in a restaurant and now just being lazy with a newspaper and some easygoing televisionprogrammes.

    Don't work too hard 😉

Just purchased the French Lilac edt at Whole Foods today. Finally! a nice smelling lilac scent! Not powdery or mixed with other ingredients – just a nice soft soliflore, almost identical to the soap and body butter.

This is what I was hoping my bottle of Highland Lilac from Rochester would smell like. Sadly, although it is harvested from the real thing, there is something unbearably acrid about the Highland Lilac fragrance. Pacifica is the only one that's come up with anything close to the real flower (composed of other scents)! Doesn't last long – about the same as a Demeter, but at $20 who cares? Didn't see any solid perfumes or the new Citrus blossom scent, so I will have to keep a look out.

Just saw a few of them at the local candle shop. The Lemon, Blood Orange, and Mango Grapefruit were available in solids, and a few more in the sprays. The mango is very mango-y. Very inexpensive too.

I am actually a lucky one here. We have Pacifica candles and perfumes available in one of our boutiques downtown. I ran into those little cuties about a year ago or so and ever since I've been addicted to them! My favorite is definitely Malibu Lemon, and their solids are great too! I adore all of Pacifica's products and am proud whenever someone asks me what smells so good on me? It's Malibu Lemon!

I mean I love lemon scents a lot. Occasionally I can do oranges and other citrus if they are nice, but to me it's always about a good lemon fragrance, especially in the summer. Pacifica made their Malibu Lemon so fine, I think most of the people would find it pleasent and deliscious. Even though I wouldn't mind it, it doesn't smell like a raw, sour lemon. It's a very delicate, deliscious and slightly sweet scent. It reminds of me of delicate yellow flowers, the sun on a perfectly blue sky, and lazy summer days. It's very remarkable, even my friends, non-lemon guys, said it was a very beautiful little fragrance. At such price it's such a great deal! If one would find it too subtle and not very heavy, you can use it to scent Your linens or just about anything, gorgeous!

I also just wanted to say that to me the fig SERIOUSLY smelled like a high-end, well-done scent. It lasted and lasted for hours, this was the first Pacifica Fragrance I actually tried on my skin and bought. I loved their soaps and candles way before I tried their perfumes, I was really impressed with their scents. Fig combines woodsy notes, very figgy accords and some spices, perfectly balanced and just great for just anyone looking for a long lasting scent.

Thanks for both recommendations! I really like the fig, and did review it, but only got to try the lemon very briefly.
