Another "behind the scenes", this one for the upcoming Chloé Eau de Parfum, which according to Chandler Burr is "a perfume masquerading as a fabric softener".

Oh Shoot, Darn, Grrr I have been so looking forward to this one, saw the bottle online and believe it is very strong classic and great and I totally believe in the ability of the house of Chloe to come back with a wonderful fragrance…I had their very first frgc in the eighties… and now this character, this Chandler Blurr…comes with such demeaning destroying critique… how dare he ! ! !
All I can say is that his own nose is failing him .
And I haven't even smelled it yet…
His nose has failed him! I have smelled this fragrance it is beautiful. It is a pure rose fragrance that dries down to a soft feminine note. It is very sexy.
Did he mean to say that it was a fabric softener masquerading as a perfume? I suppose there is a difference…
Oh boy, I don't even know where to start. The choice of music, the assertion that the Chloe ads use different kinds of women (really? not just 3 or 4 interchangeable young skinny blonds?), the avalanche of trite adjectives…
Anyway, I wonder whether Chloe (!) Sevigny will really give up her supposed favorite, CdG Red Rose!
M, we shall see! It launches pretty soon, I think.
Glad you like it! It isn't likely that a powdery ambery floral with lychee is going to work for me, but we'll see.
LOL — yes, I got a chuckle out of the different kinds of women, young, old, etc — then the actual models.
It amazes me that anybody on earth would want to be a model. But obviously, many people do, and for me, it was never a choice anyway, LOL…
Perfume that is sexy AND gets rid of static?!?! sign me up! LOL!
I take Mr. Burr with a great big grain of salt. Fragrance is too subjective to get worked up over what he doesn't like.
That bothered me too! Surprised that got past the editors.
Don't know how much editing they do on the blogs as opposed to the print edition — but obviously somebody missed this one.
It is too subjective to get worked up over what *anyone* else likes, but all the same, I do like hearing what others think — obviously!
I guess I do too, I'm here aren't I? 🙂
* got to watch the video now that I'm home, that kind of stuff is so staged and funny – always makes me think of Zoolander.
Hope the juice is more interesting than the vid.
i was struck by the fact that they only featured blondes in the spot. i guess we brunettes need not pay attention to this one. or our redheaded friends…
i would think burr meant a fabric softener masquerading as a perfume… that's a dis.
Exactly! (on both points)
Yes, you'd think if they were getting 3 models, they'd get some who looked a little different from each other.
Got a brief sniff of it, and I thought it was the usual insipid crap with no distinctive qualities, which means it will probablly be a huge hit.
Yay, can't wait to try it, LOL…
Seriously, that is about what I figured from the description.
The best video for me would be models of very different ages and of course! not all blondines.
So it's a rose fragrance…hmm…roses become so easily bland and grannylike.
The bottle looks too strong for a plane and boring scent though.
Will have to wait and see.
I've had this fragrance for a while and alas, it is not very interesting to my nose, more along the fruity floral light young trend. The bottle and colour of juice remind me very much of Miss Dior Cherie, although it's not as sugary sweet in smell. I didn't get the laundry detergent vibe personally as it didn't go soapy on me at all nor smell overly “clean”.
I found it inoffensive and not a scrubber on me.
Thanks. Surprised they didn't do something using more recent trends — “fruity floral light young” isn't exactly the latest thing.
