    It's a child's comforter, isn't it? (We call it a 'dummy' here.)

I suppose the spray tube must curve down one side to the bottom. I wonder how well that works?

LOL — took me a minute, as a “comforter” to me is a quilt. But you mean what we call a “pacifier”.

All of the Bijan scents have that donut shaped bottle, although I don't think they all have that particular pacifier top.

I'm apprehensive about Bijan because I didn't care for the first men's frag. If a kindly SA gave me a sample I would gladly check it out though.

Kevin sent me a sample of the orig. Bijan men, but haven't cracked it open yet. Other than that, have never smelled a single Bijan…

    Pacifier! That's the word!

Anyway, i don't like that bottle.

And you don't say quilt, either, or do you? Duvet??

Quilt or duvet…we say both. My mother still says 'Continental quilt', because that's what they were known as here when they first came out.

The original women's Bijan scent did indeed have that doughnut-shaped top to match the bottom: it does sort of look like a pacifier in that instance, but I don't think it's meant to. The men's was the same toroidal bottle, but the cap was a knurled sphere. The sprayer tube does curl down the inside. You can't tell from that bottle, because it's opaque, but the toroid isn't exactly a hollow one–there's a divider inside (an artifact, I imagine, of the manufacturing process) which means that the inside has two “legs”–if the sprayer won't deliver anything but you can hear stuff sloshing around inside, you have to tip the bottle to pour the remainder from one leg into the other. Just use Google Images on “bijan perfume” and all will be clear.
I don't mean to be vulgar, and I'm quite sure that the bottle is a milky-white glass, but frankly in the phorograph it looks like a clear bottle filled with a certain male bodily fluid that resembles mother-of-pearl. If you get my drift. “Bijan nude”, indeed. At least when Bill Blass did a scent called Nude, he had the good taste to make the packaging the colour of a Crayola “flesh” crayon.

At first I thought that bottle looked quite elegant, but now all I can think of is “pacifier pacifier pacifier.” And add to that Pyramus's take on the color: elegance has all gone out the window.

Thanks, though, for the word of the day, P: “toroidal” (my lexicon heretofore had to make do with “doughnut-shaped”).

Aha, and I've never heard that expression “Continental quilt”.

LOL! But I'm not sure the bottle is milk glass. Have seen different pictures, and this one might be misleading in that sense. Pretty sure it is clear. Thanks for the mental image though 😉

You have to be very careful — once you read something like that, it is in your head forever. I can't look at Thierry Mugler's Alien without thinking of penguins because someone commented on the resemblance once.

You're right about the Alien bottle: I thought it looked like a jewel clutched in a golden (alien) claw, but as soon as I read the “family of penguins” comment, that's all I can see any more. Adorable amethyst penguins!

So I formally apologize for the comment about the appearance of Bijan Nude. But that's what it looks like!

And if it's not milk glass, then is the liquid inside actually cloudy white, like Ivory Liquid dish detergent? Strange!

You know, when you see 2 pictures and they're totally different, you can't know which is correct unless you go see it in person — but go look at the picture at perfumania. It doesn't look like the above at all.

And HA — no need to apologize! You gotta call it like it is…

How right you are! On the Perfumania site, the bottles do look clear, with a liquid that seems to be the same colour as Marc Jacobs Blush. You just can't trust photography any more, if you ever could.

Can't say I've ever been a fan of the Bijan bottles due to the donut/pacifier resemblance. The notes for the women's perfume actually sound very nice, unfortunately they've added chocolate. Why must everything be mucked up with chocolate?

Probably you never could. Given that I don't know which is right, I picked the one I thought looked best. Turns out it was *too* evocative, LOL…

I don't know the smell of this NUDE, but Premier Jour (Nina Ricci) comes to mind. It defenitely smells like just washed with some fine shower gel – but still naked woman's body. One of the most sexy daytime fragrance I ever tried.

I haven't tried Nude. Just washed skin actually makes me think of J Lo Glow, LOL….

J Lo glow is more about the soup (it is somehow dusty), and nina ricci is more about the body (smooth and sensual)

S'ok, I knew what you meant — it is very annoying that you can't edit comments!
