The next feminine fragrance from Prada will be Infusion d'Iris:
Infusion d'Iris is a contemporary eau de parfum that reinforces Prada's connection with the artisan traditions of classic perfumery.
Full of high quality natural ingredients Infusion d'Iris is clean, fresh, and light and at the same time sophisticated and elegant. It is an intimate and personal scent that envelopes you.
Prada Infusion d'Iris includes notes of mandarin, orange blossom, iris, incense, benzoin and cedar, and was developed by perfumer Daniela Andrier, who also worked on Prada Man. It is available for pre-order now at Neiman Marcus in the US or Escentual in the UK.
Prada Infusion d'Iris will be available in 50, 100 or 200 ml Eau de Parfum spray; 400 or 750 ml splash with 30 ml flask and funnel; and in a variety of bath and home fragrance products including linen water and candle. (quote via neimanmarcus)
Update: additional notes for Prada Infusion d'Iris include galbanum, lentisc and vetiver. The vintage-inspired bottle features the "rope-bordered Prada crest, which was designed by Prada's grandfather, Mario, in 1913". (via Women's Wear Daily)
Update: Perfumer Daniela Andrier on Infusion d'Iris:
“This perfume does not mimic any current trends in perfumery,” Andrier noted. “It does not follow any olfactory or descriptive stereotypes of what a woman should smell like, but rather expresses itself through its contrast between a great freshness and apparent lightness and a type of tender veil, sensual and strong, that envelops the body and the clothing of the woman who wears [it].” (via moodiereport)
Update: see a review of Prada Infusion d'Iris.
I've had this on my Excitement List for months – anything with 'Iris' in the name has me drooling. Somehow or other I'd imagined it darker – that chintzy bottle/box is a surprise. I wonder how it will compare with the l'Artisan Iris Pallida?
Oh I quite like the sound of this, but the bottle does look a bit Yardley-ish. That ISN'T a criticism!!! I'm just saying if the label was blurred i'd never of guessed Prada. Aren't I picky! It looks like a nice perfume in print, I will look forward to smelling it.
I am worried about “fresh clean and light”, but still want to try it! I liked but didn't adore the iris scent that was exclusive to the Prada boutiques, and wondering if this is related to it at all.
Can't decide if I like the packaging or not!
My thoughts as well, R! That “fresh clean & light” label is esp. unappealing as I am getting tired of *summery* scents. The list of notes sounds good, though.
We had a chance to smell Infusion d'Iris on a test strip during our Paris Sniffapalooza. (I also understand that Saks NYC has a tester.) Keeping in mind that I didn't test it on my skin, I thought Infusion d'Iris was too “fresh” for my taste. It's absolutely nothing like the Prada Iris parfum.
Eaumy, thanks so much for the preview — sounds like I don't need it. I do love the summery Iris Nobile, but not sure I need another summer iris otherwise.
Rosarita, looks like this might not be what either of us are looking for.
Robin, Ina and I tried it at Saks (they have a tester and can put your name on a pre-order list). We liked it and I think you will too. Its beginning was especially interesting, sort of incensey-woody. I don't really get the fresh thing, but the drydown is a little lighter in feel than the beginning. I thought it was very well done, definitely very elegant.
Ooooh, anything with iris gets my attention immediately, too! My fave floral note, along with carnation. And I think I do like the packaging- it's in keeping with the feel of Prada, which has always tended towards simplicity. I liked the original Prada scent quite a bit, and I'll be eager to try this one.
M, thanks, that sounds like maybe I'll need it after all 🙂
I need to see it in person, I think. It might be very nice, it just looks a little dull in the picture. I love iris too!
Iris, incense and benzoin? Okay, bring it on!:) But still… I'm also little worried about that “fresh, clean and light”. We'll see.
The notes do sound perfect, don't they? Will have to see if I can find a tester this weekend.
Have you tried the carnation from the prada Les Artisan collection? It's divine!! Who would have known carnation could smell so good? Can't wait to try this one.
And I like the bottle. It's a reminder of this very old tradition – perfumery.
I tried the carnation very briefly, but wasn't able to get a sample. My first impression of the Infusion d'Iris was very positive, and will certainly try to review it soon.
