Dsquared2 He Wood, Lulu Castagnette Just 4 U :-X ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 30 June 2007 16 Comments

Dsquared2 He Wood cologne for menItalian fashion line Dsquared2 will launch their debut fragrance, He Wood, this coming September (in the US in 2008):

The concept evokes the forests of Canada, where the twins who founded the label, Dean and Dan Caten, were born. The woody vetiver composition was created by Daphné Bugey of Firmenich and the square bottle is encased in a frame made of natural red alder from replanted forests.

The notes include white spruce, amber, musk, violet leaves and blossoms, aquatic accord, vetiver and cedar.

Dsquared2 He Wood will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products. A feminine fragrance is expected to follow in Fall 2008. (quote via cosmeticnews, additional information via modaonline.it)

Update: see a review of DSquared2 He Wood.

Lulu Castagnette Just 4 U :-XLulu Castagnette has launched Just 4 U :-X, a new cherry-based, powdery fruity floral fragrance for young women:

Just 4 U :-X tells the story of a young and lovely girl falling in love. A true moment of attraction and emotion. It is an invitation still not daring to go out… but it's love at first sight, and she knows that she will give him her first kiss!

The notes include cherry, bergamot, wild strawberries, rose, jasmine, peach, sandalwood, musk, amber and vanilla. (via femina.fr, quote & additional information via lorience)

this dsqared frag is right down my alley with cedar and vetyver.

The bottle (and the ad 😉 ) don`t hurt either. hehehe.

It sounds great for me minus the aquatic accord — like everything else, and it is a great bottle! And yes, he is cute 🙂

Agreed – it sounded so promising until I read that nauseating word. Let's hope for the best though! Using the name 'wood' is quite a provocative step already.

It is really everywhere this year, even in CdG's new Play 🙁

Promises, promises . . . waiting for a wood scent to measure up.

    No pun intended.

Gosh, cedar seems to be getting overplayed in men's scents these days. How about some good ol' rich sandalwood again? Hope the spruce has a little more focus in this scent.

Powdery cherries? I can feel a headache coming on unsniffed! LOL

We need some new wood smells to be discovered in the wild, LOL — but happily, I like both sandalwood *and* cedar. White spruce doesn't sound too bad either, if only they had left out the aquatic part.

I'll definitely turn tail on an obviously aquatic scent, although at one point I did like smelling those aquatic accords and see if did smell like water or not. But it did get tiring smelling so many renditions of water and sniffing the color “blue”.

One scent I love that has an aquatic accord that doesn't “take over” is Mat: Very Male…Sambuca, Lotus, White Cedar, Bamboo, Vetiver (I think), Musk and that aquatic accord–you hardly notice it with all that wonderful wooded tones going on.

I gotta admit I used to love smelling like fresh lumber planks at one point in my life, I couldn't find enough wooded scents to quell my obsession for it. Good ol' favorites are Oscar, Celine PH, ST Dupont Signature, and Declaration–so many more but I'm trying to keep this post short, hehe! I so wanted to love Terre D'Hermes, but I couldn't help but feel like I smelled like a shoe tree by day's end…sorry TdH fans!

Hey, I used to love New West, so can't claim I hate all aquatic accords. It is just so overdone now that it makes *anything* smell generic. I am still loveing smelling like fresh lumber planks (or shoe trees) though!

Hi everyone. I live on the East Coast in the USA. Where can I buy HeWood by Dsquared in the USA? If it's only available in Europe or online does anyone know of the website where I can buy this fragrance?

    Thanks!

It is not supposed to launch here until 2008. You can order from Germany here:
