Excuses, excuses…

Tropical Island HammockSo last night I sat down to finally finish that review of Maître Parfumeur et Gantier Route du Vetiver, and couldn't find my sample anywhere. I wasted 45 minutes looking for it. That was seriously all the energy I could summon for perfume.

Anyway, Kevin will have a review of Guerlain Vol de Nuit tomorrow, and if I can finally shake the summer lazies, I'll have a review of Prince 3121 on Friday. Coming next week: Gwen Stefani L, Hermes Kelly Caleche, and maybe a few more jasmine fragrances?

Note: image shows the Tropical Island Hammock. I've been trying to figure out if I could fit this in my living room:

The Tropical Island Hammock is an utterly ludicrous and totally sublime complete paradise solution.

Two artificial palm trees (over 2 meters high and UV protected) complete with very realistic Tahitian palm fronds and coconuts support a triple woven polyester double hammock.

Only $8280 at bimbambanana, found via gizmodo.

My DH would kill for a hammock like that…don't have the space for it though, or the $8000 :-)

    Oh, my dear !

A hammock is an unfulfilled lust of mine- much like the daughter lust from which I suffer..

When I need a mental vacation, I am immediately spirited away to a soft, supima cotton rainbow-hued hammock between two date palms [ nota bene- coconuts HURT !]…

There are gentle tradewinds, a chenille blankie, a tempurpedic pillow, lots of kittens and puppies asleep in my lap, and someone feeding me one hell of a margarita.

    [I don't stint, in my dream-life !]

Try it on for size, baby.

    Mwah !

I could easily do without the hammock if I had the azure expanse lying

Good luck getting over the summer lazies. QWe had summer in April here – it's now been raining on and off for a month…. Floods. I think I need to dig out my driest scent so as I don't feel like I'm growing fungi.

Are you in the UK? The bad weather started on 1st May, the day the central heating was turned off in my building. :-(

Hope you will get your hammock, then, and someone to keep the margaritas coming! We have one outside, in a nice shady spot between 2 trees. Most unfortunately it is so hot & sticky here that just lying in it would work up a sweat…and there isn't anybody to bring on the margaritas, LOL!

LOL — I know that feeling too! But we could use a nice cooling rain at the moment.

The cell phone battery went dead in the midst of my posting. I was going to say that for the ridiculous price of the hammock I could summer anywhere in the world, and in the shade of *real* palm trees at that! :-) Wonder if the lovely Chaya would let me buy her a margarita or two…

Looking forward to the upcoming reviews…

8000 smacks!! For that you could buy SOMA! Hammocks are hard to get into and out of, really. I just want an indoor swing. Significant other said, get over yourself, I'm not building a scaffold (we have one of those heat-sucking 2-story great room) to hang your swing on the ceiling.

It is so entirely true — you could do a resort vacation for half that! At least they admit that it is ludicrous ;-)

Are you trying to fit the hammock or The Tropics? I wouldn't mind being amongst those who call the tropics their “living room”…
