Bella Bellissima ~ new fragrance line at Selfridges

Posted by Robin on 13 April 2007 10 Comments

Bella Bellissima perfumes

Bella Bellissima is a new fragrance line from UK journalist Bella Crane. The Bella Bellissima collection was introduced at Selfridges last month, and includes two scents for women, two for men:

Perfect Day for women is...

A stroll through the dappled sunlight of a tree-lined Parisian avenue.. [...] This intense, fresh, yet uncomplicated green and floral citrus blend is a modern statement in femininity.

Aromatic, spicy nutmeg and coriander intermingle with notes of green tea, bergamot and Sicilian lemons – while a deeper, delicate whisper of sweet geranium and Moroccan jasmine emanate from beneath a soft bed of precious woods. A light and unusual fragrance.

Perfect Night for women is...

Dancing in the moonlight under an endless sea of stars... [...] An opulent composition, unconventional and hypnotic, blending heady incense, ginger, oriental vetivert and precious amber with a surprising twist of grapefruit, subtly laced with delicate midnight flowers.

Perfect Day and Perfect Night are available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum and matching body products. They can be worn alone or layered.

Perfect Man is...

A rich, earthy effusion of soft woody notes provides the warming backdrop for exotic Venezuelan tonka, white thyme and aromatic basil, elevated by an unexpected twist of fresh green mandarin.

Perfect Man Alternative is...

...a bold statement of individuality. Distinctive marine top notes including sea kelp are tamed by Mediterranean citrus fruits, Tunisian rosemary and carrot seed, enhanced by rare violet leaf absolute and a collection of precious woods.

Perfect Man and Perfect Man Alternative are available in 50 ml Cologne and matching grooming products. (via bellabellissima)

A journalist with her own perfume line ?

Whats stopping Larry King and Gerlado Rivera from releasing their own “private blend” perfume lines ?

I saw these in Selfridges on Oxford Street last weekend, but I saw four new Prada perfumes that took up all of my attention. They were in lovely bottles and came in leather boxes. The lady on the counter said they are parfum strength and are exclusive to Selfridges in London and Harrods but I don't know anything else about them. They were gorgeous anyway and cost over £100!!!

I guess it's only a matter of time before Katie Couric releases her own perfume.

50 bucks says it will be a sweet, fruity floral with a cupcake accord!

There has been a small Prada perfume line exclusive to the Prada boutiques for some time. There were originally four: an iris, an orange blossom, etc. I heard they had added a couple new ones, but haven't been to investigate. Glad to hear they are going into wider distribution at any rate!

LOL — nothing stops anyone from releasing a perfume, as near as I can tell. But she doesn't seem to be making a big deal of her “celebrity factor” on the website, if in fact she is a celebrity in the UK (I've never heard of her).

You know, I think that would sell, honestly!

Yes it must of been them as there was an iris, an orange blossom, an amber and one other I can't remember! They were lovely, especially the iris, but the price! I think it must be to warrant the packaging!

The fourth might be a carnation? Anyway, I also thought the iris was the best, but I didn't think any of them were worth the price — although when I tried them 2 years ago at Prada, they were not in any kind of fancy packaging.

The bottles weren't fancy, they were sort of like medicine bottles (but I doubt I could get one on the NHS)! It was the boxes, just plain leather but with a fancy label on the front. I think just putting the label on alone would add £££'s to the price. Is that Bella Crane who presents this program I like about buying homes abroad?! I'll have to find out!
