Actually, it's already old news for anyone who reads the fragrance forums, but in case you missed it, Luca Turin's latest article in NZZ Folio basically says: save your pennies, you're going to need all six of the new Les Exclusifs de Chanel perfumes...
In my opinion, these six permanently change the landscape of perfumery by proving that there is, after all, a modern Grand Manner.
and if that isn't enough,
Every one of these is as good as it gets...
Thanks to Erin for the link!
Why they change the landscape? How they change the landscape? Whats so great about the composition? How is the perfume construction and flow? How rich are the notes? Sorry, but I look for all these in a review, not some blatant flat out statement like “These are the best ever!”. They may well be good fragrances, but more justification is needed (as it stands, your reviews are better than Turins).
That is extraordinarily flattering, so thanks, but the pieces in NZZ Folio aren't really fragrance reviews, more like topical articles on the field of perfumery. I'm guessing the scents will get much more detailed reviews in his upcoming book, although that will be rather a long wait, unfortunately.
I'm looking forward to these new chanels.
…and I wasn't aware Luca had a forthcoming book title coming? But then again, i do live under a rock. 😉
