Macys will hold a series of Food & Fragrance events with James Beard-award winning pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini of Restaurant Jean Georges:
Through in-store chef demonstrations, Chef Iuzzini will explore the relationship between perfumery, science and the senses by pairing prestige fragrance brands with original dessert recipes inspired by the fragrances' sweet notes...The one-hour demonstrations will begin with an introduction to the select notes that make up the "recipe" of the fragrance and the corresponding dessert. Exposure to the same notes will happen again during the demonstration when the actual fragrance is revealed to the audience. Final exposure to the notes will take place during the dessert tasting.
The first four events will be as follows: Chicago's State Street Macys on November 14, featuring Miss Dior Cherie; New York's Herald Square store on December 12, featuring Vera Wang Princess; San Francisco's Union Square store on February 6, 2007, featuring Angel by Thierry Mugler; and Miami's Aventura store on March 4, 2007, featuring Juicy Couture.
The cost is $25 per person, which can be applied to a fragrance purchase. More information will be at www.macys.com/foodandfragrance after November 13 (the page does not appear to be live as of yet), or, register at the fragrance counter of the host store.
