Blue Agava & Cacao by Jo Malone ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 6 October 2006 6 Comments

Jo Malone Blue Agava & Cacao fragranceJo Malone has launched Blue Agava & Cacao, a fragrance for women "inspired by the rhythm and vibrancy of Latin music":

The Blue Agava & Cacao juice — described as "effortlessly modern" — opens on notes of lime oil, grapefruit, birgaradia, cardamom and red berry. The heart is built around the agava flower, complemented by sea salt, orchid, geranium and white lily. The base is a blend of chypre, cocoa, vetiver, cinnamon, musk and vanilla beans.

Blue Agava & Cacao can be layered with Nutmeg & Ginger, Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Amber & Lavender or Verbenas of Provence. It is available in 30 and 100 ml bottles of Cologne. (via moodiereport & jomalone.co.uk)

I had a chance to take a whiff. This doesn't smell as potent as the rest of JM's fragrances. As a matter of fact, I'm returning a 30ml bottle of Vintage Gardenia today…(sniff… just didn't work for me..)

When I go back to return this, I'll take another whiff of Blue agava. I have to say everything sounds interesting about this except the sea salt…!

Sorry Vintage Gardenia didn't work for you! I rather like it although I wish it were a bit less sweet. Haven't managed to try the BAC yet, but hopefully soon…

It was weird… I've been using the Vintage Gardenia bath oil as a body and bath oil and I love it!!! But I just recently purchased the parfum for the first time. I think that it was overkill of gardenia on me.

So, yes I did returned it.

I've tried the Blue agava again. I like it. Its not too sweet. It is somewhat a gourmand scent but not “teenage girl” gourmand!! I'm curious to see what this fragrance can be mixed with! I'm thinking the Nutmeg and ginger parfum, of course….

Gardenia overkill is not good, LOL…

Will see if I can find the BA&C this weekend.

    hello R!

I've tried this as well and was surprised I liked it! I do not usually have much luck with Jo Malone except for Orange blossom, but this was very nice. I usually find her “warmer” scents a little too “strong” for me, so this was a pleasant surprise! =)

Thanks M…going to have to try to find a darn tester, didn't manage it over the weekend as I'd hoped.
