La Prairie Midnight Rain, Crabtree & Evelyn Lost and Found, YSL Young Sexy Lovely: new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 8 September 2006 8 Comments

La Prairie Midnight Rain perfume

La Prairie has launched Midnight Rain (see bottle at right), a fragrance with notes of guava, mandarin, pomegranate, freesia, white lily, vanilla orchid, plum flower, amber flower, patchouli, vetyver, cashmere woods and musk. (via laprairie) Midnight Rain is available now at Neiman Marcus.

Crabtree & Evelyn will launch two new fragrances, Lost and Found, next month. Both scents target "younger women":

Lost is aimed at "the intuitive and confident girl who is waiting to discover the world" and features notes of ginger flower, pear, papaya with a heart of sea spray, cognac and orange blossom grounded in white amber.

Its sister perfume, Found, embraces a "fun and spontaneous sense of style" with a warm heart of cassis, bay rose and cardamom lightened with pink grapefruit, caramel and spun sugar. (via cosmeticsint)

Yves Saint Laurent Young Sexy Lovely perfumeYves Saint Laurent has introduced YSL: Young Sexy Lovely, an Asia-exclusive fragrance:

The light and joyful Young Sexy Lovely is the result of a perfect blend of well-selected fruits. The aromatic recipe includes luminous Nashi pears, sparkling Italian mandarin and fresh blackcurrant. This fruity bouquet is then wrapped in a mist of cherry blossoms, transparent and light, a few Chinese magnolia petals here and there and the velvety scent of vineyard peach. The comfort of crystalline musks, the roundness of amber and the generosity of cedarwood also help reveal the tenderness and sensuality of this new eau de toilette. (via bangkokpost)

Hi R! I tried Midnight Rain at my Saks last week. The bottle is darling, and the fragrance is very pretty! =)

Thanks M, I haven't seen it yet. I did not love Silver Rain, but will give this one a try.

I tried Silver Rain also. Way too sweet for my taste.

Sweet AND heavy, although I love the bottle!

The bottle is indeed lovely. But quite expensive.. Like the rest of La Prairie products 😮

Now is Midnight Rain supposed to be a heavier version of Silver Rain? I am assuming this because I recently found Lolita Lempicka's Midnight and that one is a little “darker” that the original.

I tried this at Bloomies last night. It is heavy & sweet, as folks say but like an excellent confection, you keep coming back for more. My 9 year old LOVED this on me & kept following me around. Too bad it's so expensive, it won't be a purchase for me…too similar to Hanae Mori, which I already own.

I honestly don't know. When they originally released SR, there were also 2 limited editions (Silver Spice & Silver Sensuality) and I thought those were going to be coming out as part of the regular line. This Midnight Rain was thus a suprise to me, and I haven't read much about it.

Yes, it is expensive. The Silver Rain is available at a few discounters (so I would assume Midnight Rain will be eventually too), but even then, it isn't a bargain.

Heavy & sweet rarely suits me but I'll give it a try!
