Another article about teen boys and Axe body sprays, this one in today's Washington Post:
Moms report being dragged to drugstores to pick up cans of the spray -- in all of its "nine unique fragrances." Principals groan and roll their eyes when asked about the "Axe effect." And physical education teachers? Well, they joke that clouds of body spray have become so ubiquitous that they need gas masks just to make it through the boys' locker room.
Camille Goutal talks about how perfumes capture memories in the The Star Online. Scroll down to the picture of Ms. Goutal and check out the massive factice of Songes with the moon cap done in black.
I read the Wash Post one. Bleah! At least the girls aren't running around in Axe (sniff) — or the other one (Bod?) They smell wretched, and on teenage boys they're just overlaying the sweat.
Now that's a perfume bottle!
Hugs!
Thanks for the article on the Goutal fragrances. I am a big fan of several AG perfumes, so it was nice to hear the inspiration for the latest release from that line.
As for the Axe – just no. Wrong wrong wrong. Plus the TV ads are really obnoxious.
Really, there is one called “Bod”? That is too funny.
Love that black cap! Now I think they need to do that whole moon bottle in opaque black.
Did you read her statement about Harry Potter inspiring the Mandragore? I added a link to it on the Mandragore review page.
Yes! I do recall hearing that about Mandragore. Apparently there is a great deal of superstition surrounding the Mandrake plant. I have to say that based on the ingredients, I did not expect to like it, but I really love Mandragore – such an unusual, fresh fragrance.
I swear.
“Bod Man Really Ripped Abs”
“Bod Man Blue Musk”
“Bod Makes You Irresistable” all for $4.99
Gaaaaackkk!
LOL! That is quite a bargain at 4.99 — if I can get ripped abs for that price, it is going to have to be mine 🙂
I am dying to try the Mandragore EdP but have yet to find a tester. Very annoying!
