Thank you to Victoria for this link to an article about Guerlain in last weekend's Times Online.
There is a funny article in Salon today about the high cost of home fragrance products, such as the Alora Ambience diffuser.
Tag, by Gillette, is apparently poised to challenge Axe as the leading men's body spray. Find out why Gillette doesn't put their company name (sorry, link now expired) on the product.
You are welcome! I read the article in Salon and found myself not so much laughing as commiserating with the author. I had a similar experience, but with Mariage Freres candles. I had one (The Rouge)–came as a gift, but when I decided to repurchase, $70 price tag scared me off. It was a beautiful candle, but $70 can buy a bottle of perfume, good meal or be saved for a trip to Paris. Candle seems like the most decadent way to spend that money, and I just cannot do it.
Lovely article. Forget NYC, when are we going to Paris if even for just a long weekend?? One can dream right??
V, I have been very tempted by the MF candles too, but $20 is about my price limit these days for a candle. Agree that a bottle of perfume at $70 is no big deal, but for a candle it seems decadent.
I so wish! Maybe next year…
May I please join you? We would also ask N. for a tour! It would so wonderful…
But of course, and absolutely we must have a Perfume Paths tour. My french is simply beyond terrible, I would never venture into the Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido alone!
Ah, when I am holed up in D-town working on my exams, this shall be the dream I will cherish! 🙂
So….Gillette is self-concious about its own marketing of Tag? Pretty lame, imo. 😛
Actually, I don't even know who makes Axe. Probably someone equally uncool!
