Oh, Violette Menthe sounds very interesting, although I admit that just by looking at the notes, one is struck by the presence of just about everything–sweet notes, melon, white flowers. Will be on the look out anyway.

Now, Chantal Thomass makes very unusual and sexy-girly lingerie, and her fragrances are syrupy sweet ot match all those bows and ribbons. Sounds fun nevertheless, even though it is not for me. Thanks for a great post!

wasn't Apparition (for women) from Ungaro? did Ferragamo appropriate the name for its version? So much citrus in the notes for these, did you notice? Except for the Brosseau, which even then uses Bergamot. I love your reportage! thank you!

    V,

All of these sound good to me today, even the Apparition for men. But didn't care for Apparition for women, and have never tried a single Chantal Thomass. So much to do, so little time…

M, thank you so much, can't believe I didn't notice that. Maybe Ferragamo owns Ungaro, or maybe the Moodie Report just made a mistake.

Yes, citrus everywhere, but then, I love citrus!!

Haven't liked any of the Chantal Thomass scents yet, but I keep trying.

Smelled the Violette Menthe last month and it was quite nice, albeit very light – don't expect a lot of oomph or staying power from it, but it is very nice and fresh for summer.

Thanks so much for the report, I haven't seen the Violette Menthe yet. Actually not sure where to get Brosseau scents near me, so will have to do some research.

Yes the Salvatore Ferragamo group hold the license to Emanuel Ungaro fragrances. Up until a few years ago they were both part of Chanel

Thanks G! Odd that they didn't bother to mention Ungaro though.

Yeah it did seem strange — despite the fact that “emanuel ungaro” was printed on the bottle in the image on the article!

Chances are the confusion arises from the fact that Ungaro and Ferragamo are both marketed and distributed in the U.S. by Gary Farn, Ltd.. Gary Farn is a capable and respected organization – although it looks like they may need to pay a little closer attention to whoever's writing their press releases…

Thanks bluesixer, but I should also pay better attention…it isn't like I have never heard of Apparition :-)
