L'Artisan Extrait de Songe

Posted by Robin on 25 April 2005 6 Comments

Thanks to Liz for the information that Barneys in NYC now has a tester of the new L'Artisan summer limited edition Extrait de Songe. I should think that means that the L'Artisan boutique in Soho must have it as well. Do let us know if you've smelled it!

Ha! The French word for monkey is 'singe.' Guess what I first thought when I read the name of this scent?

LOL! Not too appealing for a personal fragrance.

Well, Singe is Monkey but Songe is dream. 🙂 So it's “dream extrait” which sounds rather nice to me. I heard this was supposed to smell like the Sautes d'Humeur Spirituel scent which is in the coffret set, if so, it is a very nice cool incensey scent.

Have only seen 2 reviews so far, one on basenotes & one on makeupalley. Neither were raving about it, but I will keep an open mind. “Clean and cottony” is what the SA in the L'Artisan boutique told me, and have to admit that isn't a big sell for me.

Ah so, the venerable NST prefers the dirty, the woolen scents.

    Good to know.

And the sweaty silks, the dusty velvets…my, I think we are walking right into the Hermessences…
