Sophia Grojsman, the nose behind YSL Paris and Lancome Tresor, has a new fragrance under the indie-label S-Perfume. The fragrance, 100% Love, is described as:
The pulpy erotic part of a secret red fruit, the soft and wet velvety skin of rose petals in water, and a mystical "concoction" of incense and black chocolate.
The S-Perfume line also has fragrances by Alberto Morillas (the nose behind Armani Sensi & Kenzo Flower) and Christophe Laudamiel (Clinique Happy Heart, Elton John Black candle). They can be purchased directly from their website or from Fred Segal in Los Angeles.
Jewelers CĂ©cile et Jeanne have released their first fragrance, Eliel. The notes include jasmine, coriander, sweet pea, osmanthus, leather, and patchouli. Read about it on Osmoz.
The description of 100% Love sounds amazing; definitely different! I'm curious to check out their website…samples, anyone??
They do have samples, pricey ($7) but large (4 ml). The whole line sounds very interesting to me, sort of reminiscent of Frederic Malle. I like a line that gives credit to their noses, so few bother.
Thanks 🙂
It's always so interesting to know the creator/history behind a fragrance…you're right about so few noses ever being mentioned for their work, it's a shame that they seem to get lost in the hype and marketing part of it.
I think I saw some of these at Fred Segal Santa Monica at the beginning of February. They must be pretty popular, because the testers were fairly empty. But 100% Love had not been released yet, and that's the one I want to try. I'm ordering a sample today!
Right- I agree. It's kind of like ghost-writing or script-doctoring. Those who really “work it” often are so behind the scenes no one outside of the industry ever hears about them. I really enjoy getting a chance to learn about perfumers and their work/passions. Wish all the info about them was more available.
*sobs* Odds are I'm going to fall in love with that one!
Wow, R, I had really never heard of any of these! I wish there was a Fred Segal on the East Coast, they have such a great selection. But why don't they sell perfume online?
It does sound good! And Sophia Grojsman knows how to do rose.
