Weleda Skin Food is perhaps a bit of an acquired taste, but for fans (including me), the new-ish Body Wash is tempting: "A luxuriously scented creamy body wash infused with Skin Food botanicals and plant-based surfactants to cleanse, soften, and nourish skin". $10 for 200 ml at Weleda. Also new-ish: Skin Food Body Lotion in a pump jar, Skin Food Super Serum, Skin Food Lip Balm and Skin Food Hydrating Face Mist.
For fans of Weleda Skin Food (and, presumably, the smell of Weleda Skin Food, although they do not say if it is the same fragrance), the new Skin Food Ultra-Light Dry Oil: "Our unique bi-phase formula combines vitamin-rich oils with extracts of pansy, chamomile, and calendula for glowing skin and intensive moisture. The ultra-lightweight mist dries instantly for a dry to the touch finish." $20 for 100 ml at Weleda.
The product smells citrusy and, vaguely, of vanilla and bell pepper. “I imagine that people who love Campari, Ricola cough drops and the fragrance Bistro Waters, by the perfumer D.S. & Durga, tend to gravitate toward its scent,” said Porochista Khakpour, a writer in Los Angeles. Ms. Khakpour, 44, first discovered Skin Food more than a decade ago, in Berlin. “It’s deservedly iconic,” she added. “If someone is carrying it, I think they’re in the know.”
