Fans of Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi can expect something a little unusual this June. On June 5, Fischersund, the Reykjavík-based art and fragrance collective founded by Jónsi and his siblings, will present what they describe as Iceland’s first “scent concert” at Austurbæjarbíó as part of the Reykjavík Arts Festival.

The event brings together Jónsi, Kjartan Holm and Sin Fang for a live performance combining original music compositions, live-diffused scent and immersive visual art. It sounds, admittedly, like the kind of concept Reykjavík was destined to invent.
