If Nordstrom puts these on mark down, I might pick up a Greenhouse Scented Air Freshener Tag from Earl of East: "A fresh blend of sweet vine tomato, parsley seed and basil, Greenhouse is inspired by the rural villages of the Greek mainland." $18, and also available in Smoke & Musk and Jardin De La Lune.

Ritual's model in the car fragrance category, the car perfume, is cheaper than some (Acqua di Parma, Jo Malone, Diptyque) and more expensive than others (Joya, DS&Durga, Little Trees). It's basically a wood diffuser that clips into your air vent. My pick of the fragrance options: Orris Mimosa ("Life is a journey, so enjoy the ride with this car perfume based on the beautiful fragrance composition of orris root and mimosa flowers, lifted by distinct leathery accents and gentle woody aspects. The car perfume lasts up to 6-8 weeks and is activated by the air flow from your car's fan"). It's $22 at Macy's.

Too spendy for me personally, but one of the better looking car diffuser devices I've seen: "Acqua di Parma meets Poltrona Frau, a symbol of leather know-how, research and design. Together, they now present the Car Diffuser, an object of design conceived in every detail by the award-winning design duo GamFratesi, to offer an enveloping multi-sensory experience and transform every trip into an unparalleled experience." Available in several colors and more than several fragrances, shown is the yellow ($175 for the case only at Neiman Marcus), which I'll take with the Aperitivo in Terrazza scent ($65; "The solar Italian elegance captured in a fragrance made of sparkling citruses where lime, blood orange and grapefruit together with a heart of gentian absolute followed by the warmth of cinnamon from Ceylon evoke the well known bitter accord.")

From Joya in collaboration with indie film studio A24: "We made car fresheners with A24! Experience our Movie Genre Candle collaboration in automotive form. Now, road trips can smell less like ambiguous pine and more like the rich mandarin of Horror, the smoked tar of Fantasy, or the wild honey of Noir. Available in all nine existing fragrances: Western, Horror, Musical, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Thriller, Adventure, Rom-Com, Noir." $12 each at Joya Studio.

Haven't got a high end car diffuser yet? (Yeah, neither do I.) Here's Jo Malone's model: "Sleek and sophisticated, the refillable Jo Malone London Car Diffuser easily and securely attaches to the air vent to enhance every journey with fragrance. Add a Refill to scent the journey with zesty Lime Basil & Mandarin, voluptuous Peony & Blush Suede or fresh Wood Sage & Sea Salt." The empty case is $67 and the scented refills (said to last about 3 months) are $36, at Macy's.
