Now [Zara] Patel's team has tested a new treatment for long-term, COVID-19-related smell loss using injections of platelet-rich plasma derived from a patient's own blood. In a trial of 26 participants, those who received the treatment were 12.5 times more likely to improve than patients who received placebo injections. The study was published Dec. 12 in the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology.

I cannot imagine not being able to smell. Cooking alone would be terrible.Glad there is some kind of research although it is pricey I am sure.
When I lost my smell — literally, for less than 24 hours — the 2nd time I had covid, I was terrified.
Would you want to be experimented on? I have never been tempted but if I’ve had COVID-19 and want a “cure”, I might go for it. There’s never an assurance, but you never know!
