It's finally the weekend — and perhaps, the last bit of calm before the holiday storm. We're relaxing with our standard open thread poll.
Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, the fragrance that helps you keep calm despite various holiday hassles, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…

Jergens Original Cherry Almond Scent Eau de Parfum is my scent of the morning
A classic 🙂
Nice garland! I’m wearing Ambre des Merveilles and listening to the dawn chorus, a peaceful start to the day
Nice…hope the day stayed peaceful.
sounds relaxing
I’m wearing Onda Voile this morning. I woke up with an earworm of “Famous Blue Raincoat” in my head and I’m trying to drown it out with some Queen. Also I saw that Alice of “Alice’s Restaurant” fame has died. It’s almost time for my annual play of the album.
We listened to it yesterday afternoon — still great.
Oh but Famous Blue Raincoat is not a bad ear worm!
I’m easing back into perfume today with my dirty hippie rollerball of patchouli and lavender essential oils. It’s been my bedtime scent but it’s perfect for today, as I come to you sans gallbladder.
My surgery was yesterday morning and I think it went quite well. I have no baseline as this was my first surgery ever in my 56 years. Thank you all so much for your kind words last week. skalolazka, if you’re reading thank you so much for the guided imagery suggestion. I didn’t purchase the one you linked to but found one on Spotify and listened to it in the days leading up to surgery. I also had a meditation playlist ready to go and asked my family not to text me yesterday morning so I could listen to it in pre-op without distractions. My pre op nurse was so wonderful.😊Nurses are just the best. Kanuka, I kept visualizing your description of anesthesia and by the time they wheeled my into the or I was pretty much zen like. Of course the dose of versed didn’t hurt.😉 The last thing I remember was scooching myself onto the or table then it was lights out. I woke up to another nurse asking me how my pain was. I had just a little bit right after surgery that wasn’t too bad (I’ve done labor😅) but they quickly got that under control and I’ve had minimal pain since. The only hiccup was a little emesis after the car ride home. Sorry, probably tmi.
Anyway, I have no plans this weekend other than to kick back in the recliner and let people wait on me.🤣 If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! Happy Saturday!
I’m so glad it went well! Wishing you a speedy recovery! How much time do you get off work?
Thanks lillyjo! I took this week off since I already had Thursday and Friday off. My surgeon said 1-2 weeks. Unfortunately any time off comes out of one pto bank and I’d rather use those hours for an actual vacation lol.
So glad it went well for you!
Thanks Kris! It went just like you said,I woke up and it was over!
Sounds like you planned that perfectly! Here’s to a quiet weekend of recovery with people waiting on you!
Thanks ockeghem! My husband and son are doing pretty good. Not quite like my girls, they’ll be home Tuesday. Can’t wait! Of course I hope I’m much improved by then so we can do some fun stuff.
So happy you kicked that gallbladder to the curb before it kicked you in the behind. Hoping your post-surgical symptoms disappear ASAP. 👍
Thanks Deva! Me too, both my parents ended up in the ER and my dad had a drain with a hospital stay. Yuck, something I definitely wanted to avoid. I thought of you when they put the scd’s on in pre-op but they were off by the time I woke up in recovery so I didn’t really get to enjoy them.😆
I’m so glad that all of your tips and tricks for pre-op worked so well. May your recovery speed along with the help of your loved ones waiting hand and foot on you💕
Thanks allo!
Glad the surgery went well and you’re on your way to recovery!
Thanks hajusuuri!
How terrific that it went well, and that you had nice nurses and are back home now. Hope the healing continues to go well!
Thanks Calypso! Yep, I was in and out in about 6 hours. A wonderful nurse can make such a difference.
I didn’t see your post about this before – so glad things went well! I find it almost more stressful *before* the surgery due to anxiety. The meditation playlist is a great idea.
I agree springpansy, but I really feel like the guided meditation helped. I had one brief moment of anxiety the night before but listening to the meditation music in pre op really made me feel calm. It’s the same type of music my massage therapist plays and I just closed my eyes and pictured myself on her table.
So glad to read this!!
Thanks apsara! So glad to have it behind me!
Here’s to a rapid recovery!
Thanks scaresbears!
Glad all has gone well thus far and sending best wishes for continued healing 🤗; relax and let others wait on you, you deserve it!
Your positive experience reminds me of my only surgery. I’m so glad that your trouble with your gallbladder is safely behind you but remember to pace yourself for a few days yet.
Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovering!
I’m very glad to hear that went well.
Glad you came through so well…meditation and deep breathing have always been my medical event prep. Rest up and heal!!
That’s great that everything went smoothly. Enjoy your recovery and get some rest.
I must have been offline when you mentioned this. I’m so glad that your surgery went well! You got some very good tips. I hope you recover quickly and with minimal pain. It must be a relief to have people’s waiting on you – take advantage of it!
Hurrah, so glad it went well! You sound in good spirits. Thank you for the shoutout; it’s great that you found a meditation/relaxation program that worked for you! And it is clear from your message that the NST crew had — and has — your back.
Excellent. Hope you are doing well today too.
Happy to hear that your surgery went well! How are things today?
Another gorgeous sunny day here and we are shortly heading out for a bit of a walkabout. I’m wearing SmellBent Smoked Ambergris. It’s been a while since I wore this and it’s as lovely and comforting as ever.
Also wearing jeans for the first time in forever. I’ve mostly given them up and replaced them with super comfortable joggers, which were a huge blessing in France because I didn’t have to worry about my pant legs touching the (often times) dirty bathroom floors when using a public restroom.
And for those who have pets, did you know Costco sells pet meds? I had no clue and was furiously trying to locate Simparica Trio for doggo and couldn’t find it anywhere at any veterinarian office hereabouts. Someone suggested Costco and BAM! They had it, and at a great price!! I wish I’d known this years ago.
Robin, I love that photo! The contrast of colors is arresting and beautiful. 😍
Is the medicine a lot cheaper than getting it from the vet? I get it there and think it’s pretty high.
Well, my dog uses the 44-80lb dosage and a six month supply was around 130ish (forget the exact number as I already threw the receipt away) with tax. Simparica Trio is more expensive than others in this care but I love that it’s a heart worm preventative as well as killing fleas and TICKS! Once a month, no other meds needed for parasite prevention. It’s also off label for other types of worms like roundworms and hookworms. The prescription will transfer to any Costco nationwide which is super convenient for me. The price is dose related so if you have a small dog under 44lbs, it’ll be cheaper and if over 80lb it’ll be more expensive.
We also just switched to getting that same med from Costco. It was significantly less expensive.
Yes, last time I bought a 12 month supply at a vet in the PNW and I think it was well over $400…
I pick up Teflon kitty’s asthma inhalers at Costco. The vet I had in NJ suggested I do that, since it was cheaper than the vet’s office.
I copied Robin again yesterday in a spritz of Bois Des Iles. Today I’m wafting No. 22 and planning to get out for a bike ride before it rains.
My routine procedure went well yesterday and I got the “all good” for another 10 years. I might have just had a very good anesthesiologist and/or they’ve developed a better concoction since I had this done 10 years ago but I wasn’t totally wiped out afterward and didn’t sleep the rest of the day away. And most importantly, as planned, I enjoyed 2 shakes, crunchy peanut butter and a double malt chocolate malt😋Nothing like breaking a fast in style!
That’s great it went well and is over with now. I’m really curious about the crunchy peanut butter shake, that just sounds so delicious!
I just finished the last of it😋 It’s one of the most delicious things ever!
Did you buy it somewhere or make it yourself?
I wish I’d made it so I could give you the recipe but I bought them at a great burger place near us.
I don’t remember ever having as many chopped peanuts in a peanut butter shake and it was unbelievably good. I’m the person who is always disappointed that peanut butter labeled “crunchy” is rarely crunchy enough for me.
Glad it went well!
Thank you, lillyjo!
Glad to hear that yours went well also and love the milkshake idea!
I highly recommend it😋
How was your dinner last night and where did Mr. SP take you?🥂💐
Dinner was great – Atoma in Wallingford. They are calling it “fun fine dining.” It was very creative and delicious. Super hard to get a reservation so we went very early and grabbed seats at the bar.
I’m so glad your dinner was a hit. I’ve never heard of Atoma but will have to check it out.
I’m happy to hear you got the all clear, and had a delicious recovery!
Thank you, tulipani! The first is of course the best but the second was pretty darn tasty 😋
Glad it went well. The prep is always the worse part. I was wondering if you enjoyed your shakes. Sounds like you did!
Thank you, Kris! The shakes were amazing. It’s rare for me to have a milkshake so I was truly a kid in a candy shop🍭
Glad everything is good for another ten years. I’m with you on the crunchy peanut butter, I like mine very crunchy too. Those shakes sound delish.
Thank you, ringthing! It’s strange to hear them tell me to come back in 10 years. It seems like a long time but I’m happy if they’re happy. In the meantime, I’ll find some other “justification” for one of those crunchy peanut butter shakes.
Congratulations on your successful procedure and well-deserved reward!
Thank you, AnnE! I felt very entitled afterwards😋
Glad to hear you won’t have to deal with “that procedure” for another 10 years!
It seems like a ridiculously long time but I’m not going to argue.
I went with Encre Noire this morning, and it’s very soothing. For the first time (possibly) ever, I’ve finished my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving, and a mini of vintage Bel Ami is supposed to arrive today, so I’m not sure why I needed soothing. But hey, soothing is always nice.
Hooray for Bel Ami! Almost twins – I’m wearing Bel Ami Vetiver.
Ooh, have you compared the two, and if so, do you have a favorite between them? I’ve never tried the vetiver one and am curious about it.
My fading memory of Bel Ami is a rugged, classic leather chypre. The Vetiver is a much more modernized version, more dandy-ish, but still beautiful. People say they get a “christmas spice” vibe, and I agree with that. The drydown is less sweet, and the leather is more apparent, but still softened.
Happy to send you some if you like! sarahbneuner in g male
Thank you — all great information! I might take you up on your offer, but since it looks like my local Nordie’s stocks it, I’ll go see if they have a tester hidden away somewhere first. It’ll be good for me to brave the mall anyway — I think I’ve only been in there once since the Before Times. 😬
Gosh, seems like ages since I wore EN, must queue it up for this week.
Absolutely! It’s so great.
A cool, cloudy morning here. There’s more than a touch of melancholy in the air – maybe it’s the season. (Or, more likely, it’s just my mood.😊)
Anyway, rather than fight it, I’m embracing it by lying low and listening to early Gordon Lightfoot records. Wearing some vintage Devin, the first fragrance I ever wore.
Hope everyone enjoys the calm before the holiday storms.
Sometimes a little wallow in our melancholy is the best way to get through it. A good scent and some good music sounds like just the ticket; hope it works for you.
I’d never heard of Devin so I went and looked up the notes — it sounds gorgeous.
Shari, it’s wonderful. (The perfumer is Bernard Chant, who composed many famous fragrances.)
I’m not certain it’s still in production; if it is I’m sure the formula has changed over the years. Fortunately, I have an ample supply of the vintage stuff. If you’re ever curious to try it, drop me a line – I’m happy to share.😊 (Click on my name, and you’ll be directed to my web site, where you’ll find my email address.)
Oh gosh, it’s very kind of you, offering to part with even a drop of that particular precious! I’m also a big fan of Bernard Chant’s work — the OG Aliage was my first self-chosen scent back in the mid-70s (when I knew nothing whatsoever about the people who compose perfumes), and I fell in love with vintage Cabochard after falling down the perfume rabbit hole. But I’m already yearning for more of a few elusive vintage scents and am reluctant to add to the list, so I will content myself with living vicariously through you on this one. Thank you so much for your kindness though!
Anytime!😊
would love to smell this again, nobody wears it anymore…
My dad, gone 17 years now, was a Devin and Aramis guy,
I loved it on him.
Same here!
I am also feeling that touch of melancholy in the air. Part of it is the very early sunsets, I think.
Been MIA for a few days. My mother is getting over COVID and spread her COVID plague to my dad and I. Got it from her Thursday but I am starting to feel better. This is why I get my jabs. I see my surgeon for my post op appointment on Monday. I will let her know that I cannot take one more day of having a drain since it’s sore. I know that it’s probably too much info but I want a proper shower. Wearing Eau premiere today since I want something a little more soothing.
Well, yuk all around.
Hopefully all will be better soon and you can get that drain out.
Hope life gets smoother for you soon. Eau premiere is such an elegant comforter and you smell lovely!
Yikes! Glad you are feeling better. Such a shame the jab doesn’t prevent one from getting covid as was originally intended . I hope your parents recover quickly. You smell great.
Best wishes for a full recovery for everyone and good health to follow!🤗
I hope you feel better and get a proper shower soon!
Oh, Dawn, how awful. Here’s to a speedy recovery for you and yours.
What bad luck getting covid on top of dealing with a drain. Getwell soon.
Aw, I hope you’re on the mend and feeling much better soon. Good luck on Monday!
Well, at least the surgery is over. I hope you get to felling better soon!
Oh no! Surgery and Covid – I’m glad to hear you’re improving.
Sorry you’ve had such a rough patch. I hope that longed for shower is in your very immediate future and that everyone is healed from Covid and back on their way soon.
Sorry you had the plague on top of surgery stuff. Hopefully things will settle down soon.
How awful for you, Dawn! I hope you recover soon from the double-whammy and that your medical request is granted on Monday.
Gosh, so sorry Dawn, you sure have a plate full.
The rain is here.
What a lazy morning emailing my sister back and forth as we plan for Zambia in 2025.
She is two weeks and two days post surgery and worked on Thursday so we are glad that is behind us.
I went to an estate sale the other day. I bought a vintage chemise for two dollars.
This beautiful house overlooking the Pacific had everything from Avon and small hats with veils a la Mamie Eishenhower to walkers and a portable commode. Every phase of life.
It made me so glad for all my downsizing and selling these past months.
Post shower I have put on the same hoodie from three days and I smell smoky, vanilla-y, benzoin-y and vetiver-y. To which I will add some Eight & Bob Egypt. Why not.
Off to fill the washing machine.
Estate sales are amazing. An entire lifetime summed up in stuff. Like you, I’m so happy to have downsized. I can’t wait for your trip to Zambia. What month are you going? Is there ever a “cool” season there or is it just hot with a monsoon season thrown in? Is this the trip you’re going to get close to gorillas? Such an exciting trip! ✈️
We are planning to go next December and spend the end of year holidays on a beach facing the Indian Ocean.
It’s a medical mission for my sister, I will join her when she is wrapping up and we will journey onto Vic Falls and Botswana.
No gorillas there, I am afraid. They are up in Uganda & Rwanda.
There are the dry and the wet seasons, also known as brown and green.
My sister hates rain. She is a person who is very much affected by weather and so we are looking at other times, too.
The good news is we can do and go when and where and what we want!!
Sounds fantastic! I hope you both have a great time. 🙂
My 90 year old Aunt is downsizing. She just gave me some fruit bowels that were my great grandmother’s.
My mother had all her mother in laws cut glass from Germany and so much more.
I am forever grateful almost everything was done and gone after my dad died and then mom. She made it easy for us and we intend to make it easy also for my nephew.
I’ve been revelling in Theorema the last two days. It has been a great antidote to the gray, chilly, damp weather and the sense of pressure and hurry the holidays can sometimes bring.
Theorema is a comforting scent 🙂 .
Theorema is wonderful.
SOTD = Imaginary Authors Dipped in Chocolate
😋. Excellent!

I’ve decided to stay home and relax (🧘 not yoga but you know what I mean). I’m bingeing on shows. Currently, it’s A.P. Biology – quite funny and mindless and great for a lazy day!
Enjoy your day!
I took my turkey out to thaw this afternoon. I bought a smaller one this year, hoping that it doesn’t thaw too quickly.
Thanks to a generous Nster, I am wearing Roja Scandal Pour Femme today. It’s the first Roja I have tried. It is reminding me a bit of YSL Champagne and a bit of the original Carolina Herrera. I just love it!
In the NYT they advise to use a bundt cake tin for smallish turkeys. On photos the turkey is sitting upright, I don’t know if this is a good tip.
It’s probably a good tip.
You know my issues with turkey, I better not stray from what mostly works now. Lol!
This is so funny as I just bought my turkey tonight and was worrying about the same thing. I looked it up and it says about 24 hours for every 4 pounds, but it can stay in the refrigerator up to four days after thawed. Some articles said up to 2 days. Anyway, I decided to make mine on Wednesday the cut it up and reheat Thursday. You should be okay.
I usually get 12-14 lbs. This year I bought a 10lb one. Maybe I should wait another day. I have had many a Thanksgiving with a still frozen bird though. Lol.
I’ve heard that smaller turkeys are usually tastier, since it’s easier to get everything cooked at the same time.
I slept in until 12:30 today! and had such strange dreams. One involved me being on a train with a handsome fellow and for some reason I was a spy and was translating French and Russian…. Not likely!
My SOTD is Anima Dulcis which exactly fits the season and my mood. The cats have been enjoying some time out on the porch where it is very pleasant today. I’m so happy it’s no longer HOT. What a blessing.
I’m involved in planning some papers for two upcoming conferences that are making me feel very stimulated and energized. I really hope that my knee surgery will improve my mobility so that travel will be less trying. One is in Philadelphia and the other will be in Edmonton, Alberta, with a side trip to Banff and Calgary. Both are next spring.
Hoping that my friend will take me to visit Mom tomorrow. It’s been too long since I’ve been out there.
A friend who is a fabulous cook shared this recipe for me and said these are the best cookies he’s ever made or eaten. Everyone loves them. Pumpkin and maple, what’s not to love? I need to order a new grocery delivery soon and will get the needed ingredients, and make them for Thanksgiving.
https://bromabakery.com/soft-pumpkin-cookies-with-salted-maple-icing/?fbclid=IwY2xjawGuP_pleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHSKo480IEOAlbDThqfU7FguluWfM8ZO7Z5rKOKt8J2-jVhj_o4O53rNagA_aem_7oMBpSTNv3PhKb5DqndNKQ
Yay for stimulating plans.
Those cookies sound wonderful!
Yay for interesting dreams!
I was finishing a bottle of Dolce Vita today, I have a proper vintage bottle waiting and tonight it’s Burberry Brit EDP inspired by ChocolateMarzipan, my bottle is definitely oldish with its small white Burberry checks but BB doesn’t quite qualify for vintagestatus yet.
Congratulations on finishing a bottle!
Thank you Gail, it was a partial but it feels good to move on to my vintage one.
Burberry Brit is pretty popular around here. I’ve never been able to wear it or it’s flankers.
Oh I think it’s the first time we’ve deferred, perhaps it’s the pear note?
I had to look up the notes. I always thought it had lavender, and that was the reason I would get headaches from BB. I see peony in there though, which also can trigger a headache for me.
Peony is rose + citrus IIRC, so very common ingredients and not sure it’s the culprit but I bet not all the notes are listed and there might be aroma chemicals in there to which you are especially sensitive. No perfume is worth a headache for sure.
Congratulations on your thunk! The only time I thunk bottles these days are the ones I turn into room sprays.
I love Dolce Vita and though the currentish version is still good, I’m sure the vintage is superb.
Thank you allo, I’ve happily used my current bottle for all this time,so I agree, my vintage is a splash and I found it longer lasting when I tested it.
Thankfully I never smelled peony in Burberry Brit! Just lime, sugared almonds, and amber. Maybe a teeny bit of pear with that lime note.
Oh yes I remember you like it too.
I’m in Heure Exquise today. It’s a bit of a go-to if I’m not sure what to wear; still hoping to thunk it by the end of the year.
Made some chicken thighs in the crockpot. They get finished on the BBQ to get a bit more crispy. The best part is the stock that results after cooking all day with onions, carrots and celery. There will be a delicious soup made for next week since it’s going to get colder out.
Do you freeze the stock until you are ready to make soup?
I’m the only one in my family that likes soup so I rarely make it.
Yes, I freeze it until I want to make the soup. I remove all the vegetables (from when it cooked in the crockpot), then remove most of the fat once it’s solidified on top (you can refrigerate it to expedite this). Then freeze it.
It’s a lovely Sunday here and I’ve just been out for an afternoon walk. My broken toe is much better after six weeks, it’s still a bit sensitive in closed shoes, but I’m fine in sandals. Thank goodness it’s not the middle of winter!
I’ve tried a good spray of Arquiste’s new Almond Suede, and it doesn’t appeal to me. However, if you like a suede note, I’d recommend trying this.
While I was in the shop, I also tried The Architect’s Club, which I had tried ages ago. I don’t recall exactly what I thought about it then, but it now reminds me of Guerlain’s Angélique Noire. Given how expensive that Guerlain range is now, that’s a great discovery!
That is a great discovery
PSA: I got an email saying that Serge Lutens is phasing out the Gratte Ciel bottles and some of the fragrances are 25% off.
Are those the tall black bottles?
I wonder what they will change them to.
Yes. I’m not sure if there’s another type of bottle coming or if they’ll lean into the bell jars. I know that the Gratte Ciel bottles were “controversial” from the beginning, as was the change from the palais royal bottles to the black labeled bottles.
i am in a mix of Musks Khoublai Khan and Agent Provocateur to amp up the roses. this is a really good layering for the cold weather.
That does sound wonderful!
Still commando this morning, but I think I will continue my sandalwood weekend. I want to wear Bois des Îles since allo mentioned it earlier. Unfortunately, it’s at home and I’m not. Will search for another soon.
The last two days, I tried again my samples of Xeroff Richwood and PMC Santal Pacifique. The jury is still out on both. They are opposites in the wearing. Richwood gets better in the drydown, and SdP starts out great, but lacks at the end. Still looking for the best available sandalwood-centric scent. Suggestions are welcome!
My favorite sandalwood scent is the one by L’Artisan, Santal. I’ve tried many and they’re surprisingly different. This one seems to me the most straight-out sandalwood.
I’m so glad to hear you mention L’Artisan Santal. It was my first fragrance and my signature fragrance for several years.
I didn’t even know at the time that it was a sandalwood fragrance per se. I knew nothing, other than that I loved the scent. I was shocked when they discontinued it, discontinuation being an entirely new concept to me at the time.
The bottle I have has gone off because among all of the other things I didn’t know, I had no idea about the enemies of perfume: light and heat. It still evokes such good memories though and I feel grateful that it started me down such a fragrant path.
It’s fun to think back on those days. Amazing how much knowledge we have gained now. I didn’t remember that this one was your signature scent.
Thanks for the suggestion, Calypso. This one passed me by, and it’s been discontinued for ages now, right? Well, onward, fragrance soldier. 😁
I thought Miller et Bertaux Indian Study was a remarkably good sandalwood, and available at discounters. No one seems to know about it.
I have a sample of this but haven’t thunked it yet. I had been testing this and A Quiet Morning, but hese seemed difficult to get a reading from a dab. Perhaps a decant is in order. 😉
Thanks for the tip!
My favorite sandalwood is Tam Dao EDT. Note that the EDP version is entirely different (and not pleasant on me at all).
I have a small bottle of the current EdT, and I do like it, although it’s not the HG. Way back when I was a budding perfumista, I bought a bottle and it was not what I expected it to be at all. It seemed harsh to me, probably because I expected it to be similar to one I had had before and couldn’t find again. But I’ve come around. 😉
Not sure if you would consider Samsara sandalwood-centric or not.
There was some note in Samsara that didn’t work on my skin very well. Something went sharp and didn’t play well with the other notes.
Nice suggestion, Deva, thanks!
Started the day in 28 La Pausa — six sprays from my travel atomizer and you’d never know it (it has been seven hours, but it barely lasted one). Why do I have to love something that is so fleeting?
Crazy weather here in Ireland — we got snow (actual, sticking snow) here in Galway on Thursday. That is a rarity. We also experienced our first ever Status Red weather warning on Friday night into Saturday (the levels are yellow/orange/red, with red the worst). Very glad to have been indoors. Today is just a measly Status Yellow, and it is plenty windy — I struggled as we crossed the bridge near our flat earlier this afternoon.
Wow, that is crazy weather! Glad it did not get worse.
Getting into the shower soon. Not looking forward to tomorrow’s phone call to my union to inquire about my disability pay due to my surgery. The doctor’s office didn’t read the directions to the forms. One form didn’t go to the right place. So that was a fun phone call on Thursday to correct. The lady told me to call her Monday or Tuesday to see where it is. She gave me the heads up that they would be off Wednesday onwards due to Thanksgiving. It must be nice to be a corporate suit since they get more time off than their retail workers. But I am hoping to get my drain removed tomorrow. It might be a wise idea to insist on it. My sister who is an ER nurse said that there is no real need to keep it in for more than 10 to 14 days due to the infection risk.
Wearing Infusion d’Iris today and hoping for some good luck for tomorrow.
Good luck Dawn!
I agree with you about the suits.
I hope for lots of good luck for you this week, Dawn.
All I have with me right now is my sample stash so I’m in POTL Luctor et Emergo. Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday Deva.!
Chanel Bois des Iles today – following the lead of others this week including Robin and allo. BdI and No. 5 l’Eau are my two favorite Chanels. Hmmm, but then as soon as I say that, I think of Coco and Sycomore, Cuir de Russie, Bel Respiro. Even Chance Eau Fraiche on the right day. Still, I think BdI wins. For today.
Getting housework done today in prep for the holiday. Have a good one, all.
Have you tried Rue Cambon 31? I think that is my favorite of all.
I have. I can see its beauty but it is somehow a bit too strong for my preference. It seems to wear me rather than the other way around.
Interesting. I have not heard that from anyone before.
I’m sure it’s my wonky nose. Just overly sensitive to certain things.
The Box of Eels EdT was gorgeous. 🥲
I’m wearing the scent that is my favorite one for the US Thanksgiving holiday, Ambre Narguilé, as I start my cooking ahead of time with a make-ahead gravy that we love. We also bought our annual Fraser fir today. I will continue to buy a fresh cut tree as long as the aging process permits me to as any purchase I can make that contributes to land remaining under cultivation rather than becoming, say, a strip mall is well worth it.
Perfect scent for making gravy! And I salute you…you’ve already got a tree! I did go out and cut some holly and winterberry for the house yesterday but that is literally all I’ve done to prepare for the holidays so far.
SOTD is Shalimar Millesime Jasmine. I thought it would be best in the summer, but the projection is quite good today along with the longevity. I have had it on for 10 hours and it is still going strong.
That is impressive!
I’m in Vol de Nuit. It’s fairly quiet on me, so it was perfect for a cloudy day.
Hope it was a good Sunday Gail.
Wearing PdE Equistrius which I found digging through the sample stash. An unexpected find. 🙃
The best kind of find!
Commando right now and will be commando until after my appointment which is at 1. Let’s hope the drain is removed today. My skin on my abdomen is starting to not handle the medical tape so well. After my appointment, I think that Chanel no 5 edp will do.
I hope so too! Enjoy your Chanel afterwards.
Hopefully that pesky drain will be removed. Enjoy your No 5.
I too hope that the drain is removed today and that the healing can continue. No. 5 is the perfect choice.
Hopefully your appointment this afternoon went well!
SOTD is Shalimar MI. Very cold this morning in the 20’s. I believe winter has arrived.
Those 20s are headed here by the end of the week. I guess it’s time.
Overnight temps have been in the 20s here as well.
Another Monday. The perma-cloud is setting up here downwind from Lake Michigan so it’s dreary and gray again. Still.
So I want a cozy scent and chose DSH Inner Sanctum today. Dark rose is just what I need.

I love your term “perma-cloud.” I have not-very-fond memories of it…which is part of the reason I don’t live there anymore, lol!
Wearing LouLou this morning, which is the kind of thing that could be a signature scent for me if I didn’t love so many other perfumes.
🙂
Popping by with an early start for the next CP, I’m wearing my recent purchase of Emmanuel Ungaro Diva.
How do you like Diva?
Yesterday I ended up in Diptique 34 EdT. It surprised me with how long it lasted.
Today, my eye lighted upon a decant which arrived courtesy of a generous perfume fairy here. Patchouli Patch from Montale – my first,
and patchouli.
Oops
and probably my last, patchouli. I’ve not tried another that I’ve liked as well.
Sounds like Patchouli Patch is something I should sample. I have a cart at Surrender to Chance…
Yes!
34 is such a beauty! Thank you for the reminder😋
