It's Thursday, plus National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day. Birthdays: Ruby Hurley, Albert Camus, Al Hirt, Joni Mitchell. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm out of town and in my haste to leave yesterday I totally forgot perfume. I'm in my favorite DIY lotion with ylang and sweet orange, and will be claiming zero comunity project points this week, unless anyone would like to join me in a community project on ice cream consumption. (Last night I had a scoop of Roasted Banana and a scoop of Choco Choco from Mimi's Handmade in Arlington.)
Reminder: on 11/8, for the 10th anniversary of our Friday projects, we're repeating the first one we did, way back in 2014... think of your favorite fragrance note (or one of them, if you can't narrow down), wear your favorite fragrance that features that note, and tell us about it. (Hat tip to happy888cat who noticed the anniversary! We are quite a few months late, but that's how things go around here.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2024, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Hello.
Robin, your ice cream sounds delicious!
Sotd is Dusita Melodie de L’Amour. Beautiful wedding bouquet floral with a touch of honey.
It was excellent ice cream…the owner roasts the bananas for 4 hours, one day I will try that at home.
I haven’t tried this one by Dusita, but it sounds very nice.
I discovered pepper notes this year and have several decants with that note. Today is Toy Boy from a mini. This is love and I need a full bottle. Yum!
Plus, way cute bottle!
Bois des Isles EDP is my scent of the day
You smell most excellent today!
You smell wonderful!
Continuing with amber today, in Memoirs of a Trespasser. It’s a gorgeous sunny day here, so this afternoon will be spent putting all the garden items away that can’t stay outside all winter. Before that, though, I plan to try a new apple-cinnamon muffin recipe. Fingers crossed!
You are smelling good Sheri!
My favorite, you smell wonderful for outdoors. Hope the muffins turn out well!
Copying AnnieA from yesterday in VCA Bois d’Iris. I have one friend that loves it when I wear this. I will be seeing her today so thought it would be a good time to spray away.
Ones of my favorite notes is clove so I am wearing Coco Noir today. I feel like this one is under appreciated a bit.
That roasted banana ice cream sounds amazing.
I love Coco Noir. I may wear that tomorrow. I have the body cream too and usually apply that on my legs. It is so nice.
Fairly chilly here with a brisk breeze which requires some warming perfumes and clothes. T-Rex is all zipped up and cozy in her fleece with a full belly of kibble and cottage cheese to keep her engine running. I went for Taklamakan by SHL, from a dear and very much missed commenter here on NST. Still so thankful for her generosity!
As for the CP, I can’t pick a favorite note. Years ago I would have said vanilla but I’ve branched out since then. No fun being a one trick pony! While I can confidently say I still adore vanilla, I also love Vetiver, tobacco, incense… really anything other than shrill florals and aldehydes. If it’s clean and bright, ok by me. If it’s a truckload of skank and barnyard, that’s great too! But whatever the perfume is, it should have personality. Some perfumes remind me of the Stepford Wives- boring, generic, narrow, and afraid to ruffle anyone’s feathers. Always agreeable, always pleasant, living in fear of being found lacking or disliked by all the other Wives. Yep, I like perfumes that have a lot to say! I’m sure no one is surprised. 🙃
I’m going to spend the coming year dreaming and planning my next trip, giving the Baby T-Rex the best belly rubs possible, enjoying the birds and the trees, and just taking one day at a time because I don’t want to look too closely at reality for a little bit.
I like your plan for the year. Sounds great.
SOTM is Pinrose Campfire Rebel. Can’t decide whether I like it or not. I was not familiar with the label and feared this was a clone of MMM Replica By the Fireplace, which was way too sweet for my nose. But this is an unsweet smoky campfire with a bit of rose or is it raspberry, whiskey, and agarwood/oud (can it be real?) Came out in 2014 before clones took over the marketplace, right? At least it’s not screechy screamwood). Good longevity on me but reviews of some of the others in the line raise issues with lasting power.
An old friend, who is sailing around the country, arrived in port last night so I will go and visit him and his yacht later today. When we lived together we did some cool sailing trips, sometimes accompanied by dolphins surfing off the bow. All my trips were in sheltered sounds and around islands rather than days on the open sea, and I always liked being able to drop anchor in a sheltered bay at night rather than being tossed around on the waves. I noticed yesterday that all the peonies are now in full bloom in the gardens I walked past. Beautiful big blooms. Wearing Gris Clair …it’s grey and heavy rain coming later.
Aromatics Elixir today, because i love oakmoss and needed some perfumy backbone. my most worn scent too…
