Niche line Régime des Fleurs has launched Blood Spider Orchids, a new limited edition fragrance.
When I first encountered the Blood Spider Orchid, I was captivated. Blood-stained petals on a long, slender stem—an extraordinary bloom that conceals a darker, more primal allure. Its deceptive scent mimics female wasp pheromones, luring males and tricking them into pollinating the flower. How wicked. Nature's drama never ceases to inspire me.
I wanted to distill this gothic flower into a fragrance equally as powerful and alluring. This is Dracula’s bloom—ravishing and dark, as enticing as heat rising from a bare neck. A perfume to die for. — Alia Perfumer & Founder
The notes include cinnamon, smoked cloves, nutmeg, frankincense, patchouli, jasmine, tonka, blood cedar and benzoin.
Régime des Fleurs Blood Spider Orchids is available in 8 ml Extrait de Parfum, $190.

Not to derail your post, but I’m actually very interested in trying another of their recent releases: Fleur Éclair, a floral gourmand (Per Fragrantica: Top notes are Cacao Butter, Cardamom, Sugar and Rose Water; middle notes are Cocoa, Jasmine Sambac and Orange Blossom; base notes are Patchouli, Amber and White Woods.) It hasn’t been mentioned much — is just now on their website, but only in the discovery set. I wouldn’t even know about it, but I happened to read this and it sounds intriguing:

Ooh this one sounds great! It doesn’t look like they’ve officially launched it yet, but I’m looking forward to trying it.
Oh, maybe that’s why I haven’t heard much about it. Hope we can both try it!
Interesting, although I am unsure how much I’d like to smell like a female wasp.
