It's (Teapot) Tuesday plus National Punctuation Day. PSA: the swapmeet is open for business! Birthdays: Jim Henson, F. Scott Fitzgerald. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in L’Artisan Parfumeur Jacinthe des Bois. Tea at the moment is Art of Tea Rose Black.
Reminder: 9/27 will be Young(ish) Guns Friday...wear a perfume by Jérôme di Marino, Quentin Bisch, Fanny Bal or Dora Baghriche, if you have one. If you don't, see if you can think of another mainstream perfumer aged 45 or under that you can represent.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2024, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Solitario teapot is €630 at Fornasetti.
Happy, punctuation? day!
No CP points for me – I am in Aramis Calligraphy Rose.
My UPS is back from the service center. Bad news: they tested it with their batteries and did not find any issue. So they blame my battery, and there is no warranty on it beyond 30 days. So I probably spent $150 on something that did not even make it to the winter.
Darn.
But you smell good!
😂🤣
Oh crap. Sorry Glannys.
That sucks about your UPS.
I’m wearing one of my favorite fall scents, Dzongkha. Unfortunately, temperatures will be in the 90s for the foreseeable future.
Yikes, that is hot! I hope you are able to stay cool.
Good morning, everyone!
I recently tested three new samples I received and want to give my initial thoughts. I know others have tried all of these and I am curious of your impressions of these scents. Please bear with me as I am terrible at describing notes.
Gallivant Bukhara-To me this was a very different take on iris. It starts out with a fruity note in it which I would guess is the pear and peach. Someone wrote in Fragrantica that it smelled like scotch, so I thought back to my drinking days, and it actually does. At first, I really enjoyed this, but as the hours went on, I wasn’t so sure. It is just so different than other iris perfumes. What do you think? I don’t think at this time I want to purchase it, but it is definitely interesting.
Fzotic Au Dela Narcisse-To me this was a very pretty white flower scent. I did not get a lot of citrus or green smelling notes in this one that some do. I know it is loved by many, but I felt like I had other BWFs that fit the bill so don’t feel a need for this one in my collection
Pierre Guillaume Indochine-This is a woody spicy fragrance, but I love the added honey. Zoologist Bee was nice, but I did get a little of the “pee smell” to it on my skin. For some reason, the honey in Indochine is much more muted, but definitely there. I absolutely fell in love with this scent and think I want to purchase it. I see many of you wore it last week.
So, NSTers the challenge is for you to change my mind on any of these. Today I am just waiting for my Shalimar Jasmine to arrive today.
I can only address your third perfume and I wouldn’t try to change your mind for anything in the world. Indochine is just one of those perfume that’s a hit with a lot of people. I may try to replace my bottle if I come across it while on vacay.
Thanks Deva.
I wore Bukhara for a bit and sold it. It was a like, not love.
I LOVE Indochine and will always have a back up.
Nice to know and thank you.
As to Au Delà Narcisse, it’s funny how perfumes can be so different on our various skins. I do get a lot of green among the narcissi, and I don’t really perceive it as a BWF (my perfume nemesis). On me, once the green top notes have faded, ADN becomes very rich, almost like sandalwood cream with light spices. Truly yummy. But isn’t it great that we all have different tastes in perfume? 😁
This is how I experience it as well. If it were a BWF on me, I definitely would not have a bottle. 😄
This is funny. It just smelled way to familiar on me.
Too I meant.
I have all three, so I don’t think I can persuade you otherwise 🤷🏻♀️🤣…
Which is your favorite?
Buy Indochine!!!
I am pretty sure I will. Thanks Gaynor.
Au Dela Narcisse is very green plus narcissus on me, just like Deva and SheriG. No BWFs there to my nose. Very reminiscent of 80’s style chypres.
I knew that you really liked it.
Yep! But as I am fond of saying with my perfume recs, YMMV.
I love Au Dela Narcisse but I wish it lasted longer. Do others of you who wear this have an issue with longevity?
Not me! But I also have scent glue skin, so it is unusual for something NOT to last on me.
Hello.
Sotd is J’adore L’Or.
My bottle of Shalimar Jasmin is arriving today, wohoo! But I won’t be there to receve it because I am out of town to be with my family for grandma’s funeral tomorrow.
I tested out Dior’s Ambre Nuit Esprit De Parfum yesterday and I’ve got something to say:
Cinnamon, cardamom and spices…yep you read that right, the notes of Ambre Nuit Esprit is also the notes of garam masala.
Paired that with savoury amber and the natural warmth and salinity of human skin, it smells just like hot curry and tandoori chicken.
Nothing like paying $500 to smell like your favourite Indian restaurant. And hey, at least you won’t get the runs! 😉
I think I would pass on paying $500 even if it didn’t give me the runs. I almost spit out my coffee as I was laughing at that comment😂
🤣🤣
So Indian food does not agree with you?
I love Indian food but my tummy can’t handle too much spice. So I usually go for milder choices like butter chicken or saag paneer.
Gotcha.
I can’t handle vindaloo anymore. I prefer Rogan Josh to it. However, Saag Paneer is a favorite side dish. 😋
Well now I’m craving Indian food 😂
This morning was gorgeously fresh, 10°C with a whisper of a breeze and lots of clouds, so instead of going to the gym I went out for a lovely walk. The leaves haven’t begun to turn in any quantity yet but there’s been a slight bronzy quality to them for a week or so, so you know fall is well on its way. I’m in SL Gris Clair… and enjoying that warm undertone beneath its crisp lavender.
You’re smelling wonderful today, almost reached for Gris Clair too.
That’s such a perfect fall scent.
SOTM is PG Cuir d’Iris in tiny quantities — if I spray too much of this one, the top is all pickles. Not sure what I’ll do for the CP, as the only thing I own from any of those four perfumers is Ganymede, and while I love it, I have to be in just the right mood to wear it. If I could only find out when Antoine Maisondieu was born (and if he qualifies as “young-ish”), I might have something else in the arsenal.
And side note: the face on that teapot reminds me of an old boyfriend. From the 70s!
That’s hilarious!
At least this particular boyfriend is a pleasant memory — there are several who are definitely NOT. 🤣
There’s something so 70s about the teapot illustration, it must be the hair!
Definitely the hair. Spot-on accurate. 😆
Unfortunately, I don’t have a one fragrance for the CP so will have to wear what I want this week.
Does all the hair on the guy on the teapot remind you of the old boyfriend too?
Absolutely! Hair and beard, big puffball. The guy was big too — I’m short, and he was 6’4. We made quite the pair.
Funny!
Remember those sun faces from the 1970’s? That’s what the teapot illustration reminded me of.
Yes!!!
Wearing – and loving – Chanel Egoiste today.
Smelling fantastic!
Another stunner of a morning! Coolish, just a few degrees away from crisp, and blinding sunshine. ☀️
I’ll be a total failure at this weeks CP because I don’t pay attention to perfumers much, or their age. Go ahead, revoke my perfumista card. Wearing the Anné Pliska today and decided I would google to see what popped up.
Imagine my surprise to find an article in the LA Times from 1989 about the perfume and perfumer. She ended up going with Roure-Bertrand-Dupont labs to create the scent we know today. Many of you dyed-in-the-wool perfumistas probably already know this story, but I think she was pretty lucky to have literally stumbled across a legit and respected lab. I have no idea of the age of any of the fine folks involved, but it was fun to google.
https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-09-08-li-2036-story.html
Happy Tuesday!
Also, if that is supposed to be an image of the sun on the teapot, I find it quite malevolent. I’d skip it even if it were .06 cents. Might give me nightmares tonight. 😅
Can you get paid enough to use it all day every day and for it to occupy your eyeballs front and center everytime you wake up?
Blinding sunshine and bluebird skies here today as well! Plus a dusting of snow on the very highest mountain peaks that I can see.
Well I am going to be a total failure at the cp too. It seemed like a good idea at the time, that’s all I can say. I suspect we aren’t going to have much participation this week 🙂
I’m in Chanel Comete from my sample that probably has one or two more wears in it. Nice but I don’t need more.
We had a drop of almost 20 degrees over the weekend and 4.5 inches of rain Saturday into Sunday! All I can say is thank gosh it wasn’t snow, that would have been 4 feet.
Reading the snow/rain conversion gave me anxiety. Lol.
That is a lot of rain though. I’m getting it now but not that much.
lol, yeah, I am not nearly ready for snow yet!
Wearing Julien Rasquinet’s BDK Tabac Rose. I’m not sure how old he is but he looks like he’s probably younger than 45.
Oh yes, he is on my list. In this 2016 article he says he is 35, so he must be 43-44 now.
https://cafleurebon.com/cafleurebon-young-perfumers-julien-rasquinet-of-iff-naomi-goodsir-parfums-draw/
LOL, I am chuckling at wondering what you mean by saying he’s on your wishlist. Naturally I had to look at the article (picture) right away. Cute hair!
🤣😂
Maybe I should have been more clear – on the list of young(ish) perfumers for this week’s CP.
this article just landed in my inbox and may be of interest:
https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/perfume-of-ancient-egyptian-death
also, SotD is vintage Rabanne Metal
Thanks spiderplant!
Will be leaving in a couple minutes to go to my first day back at work after vacation. Wearing no 19 edt to get me through.
Hope it’s an uneventful shift!
You know, I could have sworn …
Me too. Wasn’t it yesterday she was going back to work or was that someone else. Is that what you were thinking?
She’s going back to work today. I was jk but I couldn’t stop myself.
SOTD is the new jasmine flanker by Shalimar. Do I like it? It’s ok as a light jasmine. I don’t smell a lot of the Shalimar original notes. Needless to say, I will not be getting a back up bottle of this one. So interesting how we have different tastes. Many did not like Shalimar MI, but I loved that one.
Oops that was not supposed to go there.
First day back at work after vacation is always a challenge.
I’m in Masque Milano Lost Alice because I love it and it works for my version of the CP, which includes any young gun, mainstream or more niche. The nose behind Lost Alice is Mackenzie Reilly. She has done an Avon perfume and a couple for Caswell Massey – so maybe she does count as “mainstream”? BTW I’m not being sarcastic with my comments here and below–I am really not sure how to define niche and mainstream anymore…and sure, this is overthinking it, but I’m interested.
Others include:
Cecile Hua – has done a 4711 and a Jessica Simpson
Meabh McCurtin – has also done Ellis Brooklyn – if you are sold at Sephora are you mainstream?
Shyamala Maisondieu – besides niche has done some for Estee Lauder, Lanvin, Tom Ford
Amelie Bourgeois
IIRC, Cecile Hua also did AS Saturday.
I think she did all the Arielle Shoshana perfumes.
Right. I was trying to list mainstream houses she had done work for because the CP as I understand it is mainstream perfumers under 45.
So sorry, by mainstream I just meant perfumers at the big fragrance and flavor companies as opposed to indies…so yes, she counts!
Oh, I see. Thanks.
Love the teapot Robin. But then, I love Fornasetti.
Tested OJ Kashmir last week. There was for me, nothing to love.
So soft and not any spice that could conjure up some of the beauties in the Silk Road collection. I think I would need to layer it with Damask.
Glad I only invested in a travel size.
I tested Dyptique Bois Course yesterday and spoke too soon saying it was a pass.
When I went to bed after binging more of Slow Horses, it dried down to a beautiful, creamy sandalwood. I kept my nose to my arm all evening. Just delightful.
I have a friend heading to Japan and I asked her to buy me a ll Guiac in Tokyo – but that may need to change after wearing the rest of this sample today. If it came in a 50ml it would have been ordered this morning.
I tried watching Slow Horses last night after reading so many good comments on here, and don’t think I’ll make it past the first two episodes. Maybe I’m spoiled by my steady diet of k-dramas, but this story of British spies just seems like something that’s been done a thousand times before. Honestly, though, I’m open to persuasion, so can someone say more if you’ve watched more of what I seem to be missing? (and I definitely AM a Gary Oldman fan)
Try to get to the third episode when things start to come together for the team.
I am almost done with season two and had no interest in it till I started it.
Okay, I’ll watch one more episode, and thanks for the encouragement. I know sometimes a big series can take awhile to lift off the ground.
SOTD = Marc Antoine Barrois Ganymede
It’s the OG I have and it is delightful!

No sign of a refund check yet but I’ll give it more time. A redditor mentioned just having received his (at least I think it’s a he) refund for one single ticket just yesterday and he sent his in on August 3rd. Mine is quite a bit more MORE so I will give them time to address. Hope springs eternal!
I’ll talk about the civil mediation course after tomorrow. There were 16 of us and I think I was the only non-lawyer. There were 2 I’m not sure about but they both work in the tax practice of a law firm so at the very least, they are affiliated.
And finally, it’s never too soon to be prepared in case of an emergency!
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/20/dining/how-to-prepare-emergency-food.html?unlocked_article_code=1.M04.8FY2.0ST-Mm2Vxq7I&smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
Every time you write about civil mediation, I read it as “civil meditation.” Maybe I’m just diagnosed myself as dyslexic. 🙃
LOL, you and I are both on the same page but my brain tends to remove letters.
Me too. I immediately went to meditation.
I have a small canned goods emergency section in my basement. I try to keep it rotated.
Great! A cool dry place is the way to go. You may need a go bag to store some of the items in case you have to evacuate.
I have a water filtration setup (gravity fed) in my kitchen. There have been some issues in the past with water quality in the area where I live, so I invested in this. It was one of the first things I set up.
I have a gravity fed sump pump in the basement. The kitchen filtration system seems like something I should look into.
The brand I am using is ProOne, and I got it off Amazon. There are different sizes and materials. I have a stainless steel setup.
I think I have enough food and water for an emergency. We buy five gallon jugs of water plus I have a pantry full of canned goods. Luckily, we mostly just have snowstorms and can usually get out pretty quickly once plowing is done. No earthquakes or hurricanes up here.
As much as I despise snow, I think I would hate hurricanes and earthquakes more. I might feel differently in January though. Lol.
I’ve dealt with both earthquakes and hurricanes when I lived in New Jersey. Got off relatively easy in both instances.
Superstorm Sandy was the worst one; didn’t have power for 17 hours. There were folks who didn’t have power for weeks after that.
Hahaha – just watching Persolaise’s top 10 autumn perfumes for 2024 on youtube (episode 494 if you are interested). He loves Arquiste Almond Suede and talks about how HUGE the almond note is and mentions marzipan. So funny after I gave my mini-review here on Friday and said I never got any almond, and it mostly smelled like band-aids/leather for the first hour+. So anyway, anyone interested should probably try it for themselves!
Always so interesting what different people smell! Did he like it?
He does!
I won’t be able to participate in this week’s project, I’m away on vacation and don’t have any samples from these youngsters, that I’m aware of.
I’m wearing Sylvain Delacourte’s Valkyrie from a vanilla sample set that I must have bought a while ago. It’s rather nice and smells a bit like Sacrebleu.
Have a great vacation!
I suspect that will not spoil your vacation 😉
We had gale force winds from the south yesterday and it just roared through the trees all day knocking the poor birds sideways whenever they tried to fly. I was down by the coast in the evening and the ocean was jagged with white caps and spindrift, and an enormous swell. I would have been whimpering with fear if I’d been on a ship; the power of the sea is frightening to me. Now the wind has swung to the north and the sky has that washed and bleached look, but it’s still cold, around 5C. Wearing Rahat Loukhoum and planning to go for a walk in the forest soon.
I agree – the power of the ocean is incredible. We have islands near us that have whole huge trees thrown up quite high in the rocks by the ocean when it is stormy.
It sounds as if you’ve got last week’s weather back. It was cold but fine when we met on the Tuesday morning, but dreadful in the afternoon!
I am yet to take a moment to look at whether I have any perfumes by younger perfumery, but I guess they were all young once 🙂 .
I’m wearing Taklamakan from SHL 777.
Love your logic and your SOTD. ☺️
Enjoying the intoxicating Jaïpur Homme EdP from Boucheron. I feel like I’ve just stepped out of an elegant barbershop. Leans traditionally “masculine,” but I’d love to smell this on a woman.
How was your latest trip?
It was lovely, thanks! Flights are always a drag – at 6’3”, I cannot get comfortable. But it was worth it to see old friends.😊
SotD was Ormaie Papier Carbonne
Waves to lucasai!
SOTD is the new jasmine flanker by Shalimar. Do I like it? It’s ok if you as a light jasmine. I don’t smell a lot of the original Shalimar notes. Needless to say, I will not be buying a back up bottle of this one? Interesting how we have such different tastes. Many did not like Shalimar MI, but I loved that one.
Glad I didn’t jump into that one blind! Thanks for your review.
Boy, I am getting my words all mixed up today. It should say it is ok if you like a light jasmine. It’s nice, but just not quite what I expected. Please don’t only go by my opinion. Many liked it quite a lot.
Sounds like I won’t get FOMO by passing this one by.
See what I wrote under Deva’s comment.
Heh, I already have a light jasmine perfume among all the Full Bottles. So I figure I’m good. 😉
Thanks for your review, Kris. It seems that your impressions match to a review that I read on Fragrantica. Did you see Persolaise’s YT video on it?
Yes, I did watch that video. He did not like Shalimar MI very much. As far as this flanker, he thought the jasmine started out smelling cheap, but then smelled better as it developed.
I’ve got nothin’ for the CP, I think, unless Andy Tauer or Hiram Green are under 45 (which, I’m thinking, no).
Many, many thanks to Austenfan for sending me a veritable library of Hiram Green samples. I very much liked Dilettante yesterday, but then put on Lustre today and was sad. I love rose, but all I got off of it for the first 30 minutes was citrus-scented floor cleaner. I then got a bit of rose, but it faded soon after. BUT! I have many more to work through! 🙂
The teapot reminds me that my tea today was foiled by old milk. I bought Ostfrieschen Tee, one of my favourites, at the grocery today. I then came home and made some quickly, before a meeting, and was dismayed to see that when I poured the milk in it didn’t go milky, just kinda gritty. Sigh. Still trying to remind my family about the various varieties of German milk (Mr. Ockeghem bought a weird “fresh but longer lasting” variety that didn’t last very long…can we just go with fresh?).
Germany has different varieties of milk? I assume you mean cow’s milk, and not plant-based “milks”.
Well, the basic difference is that there’s UHT milk and fresh milk. I bought UHT a lot when I was a student over here, but I don’t like the taste very much. I’m not sure what Mr. Ockeghem bought, it just says that it’s fresh but longer lasting somehow.
I am serial testing a bunch of samples including a lot of rose ones. Yesterday was Essential Parfum Rose Magnetic. It was nice but nothing special, totally gone by mid day. Today, I am in Perris Monte Carlo Rose de Taif which is very heavy and straight up rose to my nose, reminds me of some antique roses that grew in my yard as a child, as they had a strong and classic rose scent to me – but not sure I call pull it off as a perfume. I think I am Goldilocks for rose scents, everything is too light or too heavy and I think I need rose with something else, maybe why I gravitate back to Delina, since the mix of other floral and fruit notes balance it all out.
But the predictable part of all this sampling is that I threw in a few non rose perfumes and love 2 from that category. I tried Perris Monte Carlo Nosy Be Ylang Ylang since ylang ylang is not a note I have explored much and I absolutely love this perfume. It is like a yummy banana with vanilla and some spicy notes with a whiff of floral. I think this has beat out everything else as top contender for 2025 purchases.
I also tested out Jul et Mad Stairway to Heaven. I definitely don’t need anymore clean musks but there is some sort of fruit or berry note in there I really like so I might cave for it.
I have that one, the Ylang Ylang, and like you, I absolutely love it! That is one of my favorite notes and this is probably my favorite perfume featuring it. The line as a whole is really worth exploring; I also adore their Patchouly Nosy Be. Some of their citrus scents are excellent, too, though I haven’t yet decided whether/which to buy.
These sound very nice. It’s ok to cave occasionally😉😉😉
I have that PMC Ylang Ylang, too, and I love it as well. It’s pretty much my only “tropical “ scent, but it’s enough for me.
I was shocked to see that I have at least samples (if not more) from each of the young perfumers mentioned for the CP. Well, they have quite a lot of scents under their belts. Another perfumer that came to mind is Suzy Le Helley who did Acne Studios. She hasn’t done much else, but landing a Frederic Malle as one of your first is the definition of young gun for me!
Today I’m wearing Quentin Bisch’s Nomade EDP.
I didn’t know QB did Nomade. I like that one.
If I can find my sample of Nomade, that might be an option for Friday.
SoTD is French Affair by Quentin Bisch. This one did not start out auspiciously. In the opening, what must have been the oakmoss and angelica smelled to me like dill pickle and cumin. Augh. After about half an hour, I begin to smell the rose, Vetiver, and patchouli making themselves known. At this point, I have come to like it very much. We’ll see how long that lasts! Now I know why it’s taken me a year or two to finish the sample. A 2ml sample, but still.
I had an extra cup of coffee this morning, so tea this afternoon was decaf English Breakfast from Arbor teas. Can’t recommend it.
Can anyone suggest a good decaf black tea? I’ve tried so many different samples, but haven’t found one yet that has any flavor. TIA!
Maybe check out the selection on The Republic of Tea’s website? Disclosure: I get stuff from them all the time.
Good idea, thanks!
Today was hard workout day at the gym and I am trying to resist the urge to take a nap. I needed something to perk me up, so I am wearing Mandarine Basilic. It’s 90F here today so it’s also keeping me cool.
90?!? Sheesh! Is this the first time that your high temps have continued into September?
You smell lovely, though, and I hope it worked.
Not the first time–Maybe 3? 4? years ago there was a week of 90+ weather in October. It was horrible, so many plants died the following spring. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 65F.
Well thank heavens you will get a little breathing room. I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with for a 65- degree day. 😉
I felt like doing a decant thunk today so I’m in the last of my Hiram Green Dilettante decant. Now I can start using my travel spray. 😀
Excellent work!
Yay for a decant thunk!
No CP points for me today. Grabbed Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street today. Just grabbed it out of the sample stash. I actually like it a lot- not enough to buy a bottle but I do enjoy my sample.
Nacho has been naughty lately. He usually stays right in the yard when I let him out to do his business but when his daddy is out of town, 3 times now he has snuck over to the neighbor’s house for a playdate with their dogs. It was cute the first time but he’s going to have to stop because I love my neighbors but don’t always feel like socializing after work. Also especially frustrating he never does it when J is home. He obviously has no respect for my authority haha.
Commando today. I was picking up 2 sets of Tauer Perfume samples at my Post Office this afternoon. But I still haven’t opened my package yet; got distracted by other tasks.
Yay for perfume mail! Report back!
So the sets I picked up were the Delight Set, which contains the new one, Heraud, and the Marvels II Set. I still can’t find my older Tauer samples.
How could any other task be more important?
Teflon kitty would beg to differ; her litterbox needed cleaning!
😅
Looking forward to your thoughts on the Tauers!
So am I. Most of the samples are ones I already have, but some will be new such as Golestan and Heraud.
Ok, that first sentences doesn’t quite compute… Reboot! “I will be happy to share my thoughts once I start testing.” There. Much better.
*sigh*
That first SENTENCE…
Open that package!
Package has been opened, but no perfumes tested just yet.
I will need one of my “best business dress” perfumes for tomorrow, so the Tauers will have to wait. Every one I have tried in the past has substantial “presence” on me. Don’t want to gas anyone out!
Will you be able to compare Haraud and Sundowner? I liked but did not love Sundowner; Haraud sounds very promising to me.
PS I meant to tell you that I re-tried Black Opium edp intense, and it was not what I remembered, vetiver and pear, but very much what you said, gourmand all the way.
I *think* that Sundowner is in one of my sample sets, but not sure right now. I’ll post an update on what’s what tomorrow or Thursday.
Thanks for the giving Black Opium Intense a resniff!
Sundowner is in the Delight set.
Thanks ockeghem!
I got my electric bill today. I used more electricity in September than I did in the other summer months. It truly was the humidity, I swear!
It stayed in the 60’s today so I brought out TF Black Orchid. It is strange how it gets more pronounced the longer its on my skin.
I like Black Orchid, but it seems like some days it wears me rather than me wearing it.
Been a long time since I have worn my TF Black Orchid. I should give it a sniff sometime…
I like Black Orchid in cold weather. Isn’t it strange about some scents getting more pronounced as they wear on? Orris Tattoo does that on me.
Shalimar MJ arrived yesterday and my first impression – another Shalimar to love. After a bracing, almost astringent opening, I got a lot of powdery jasmine, very much to my delight. My SMJ test was interrupted by two things: yesterday it was my own lack of discipline. I also got a sample of Patchouli Paris, and could not resist what I thought would be a tiny puff on the back of my hand. But the sample vial had a blaster of a sprayer, and PP is a powerhouse. First impression of it: very masculine. Today’s testing was curtailed by having to fast for a routine medical test, and I don’t do well with skipping meals so perfume is a no. Looking forward to this week’s CP because I was surprised to find I have fragrances by three of Robin’s four suggestions.
Sounds like you liked it more than I did. However, as the day went on, it seemed to grow on me.
Glad to hear a bit about Patchouli Paris!
