Niche line Arquiste has launched Venice Rococo, a new powdery floral fragrance.
A coquettish floral capturing the decadence of 18th century Venice, its rococo interiors and clandestine affairs: a powdery blend of black violet, blush rose, and chamomile nestled on an impossibly soft base of dusty iris and subtle, animalic amber.
***
September 1757, Casino Venier, Venice.
In a hidden alley in the heart of Venice lies a small ridotto, a secret apartment for intimate affairs. A rosewood door opens to a pastel-colored room of powder pink, pale green and pearl white. Suspended in a perfumed cloud of violet, rose and iris, stucco carvings of frothy clouds, delicate garlands and mischievous cherubs appear to dance in the gentle flicker of candlelight. Amidst this sensory haven, the strains of a mandolin emanate mysteriously from behind a wall, the musician concealed from prying eyes. The subtle background melody intertwines with the hushed conversations and shared laughter of two lovers, enveloping them in the enchantment of their clandestine encounter.
Venice Rococo was developed by perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux. Additional notes include hawthorne, aldehydes, Poudre à la Maréchale powdery accord, orange blossom, cumin, civet accord and jasmine.
Arquiste Venice Rococo is $205 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Pink bottle, powdery violet and Iris, definitely want to sniff this! I don’t think I have encountered any perfumes by this house-any keepers from them?
I am sure someone will mention this house. I know there are others that have fragrances from Arquiste. It does sound good. I can’t remember who it was, but there was a person on this weekend that had tried this and said it was very powdery. If you look back on that post, you will be able to see exactly what was said.
It was Gaynor that said it was very powdery and for those that like that type of scent should try it.
Ah, thanks for the info! My sister is always seeking powerdery fragrances! I will send her a sample!
I think quite a few on here have Arquiste Indigo Smoke.
I am so excited to be able to say that I’ve already tried this! My local perfumery got this in last week, they seem to have a good relationship with Arquiste.
The description is spot-on to my nose. It’s a little bit too powdery for me, but if you like powdery scents, I recommend you try this.
I’ve three from Arquiste, Anima Dulcis, L’Or de Louis and Indigo Smoke.
I sometimes like sweet and powdery and sometimes I find it claustrophobic, just depends.
I tried it and thought it was too similar to Oud Satin Mood from MFK. I love Indigo Smoke, L’Or de Louis, and Anima Dulcis from Arquiste. They’re definitely worth trying.
Thanks Calypso! Looks like you are Arquiste twins with Glannys.
I love Indigo Smoke, Anima Dulcis and Architect’s Club. Looking forward to smelling this one.
I have a bottle of the Boutonniere. This BWF won me over.
