The store is bustling with people on a mission to design their own fragrances. I’m here on perhaps the weirdest, and definitely most pungent, assignment I’ve ever gotten at NPR: to make a signature scent for Morning Edition and Up First.

It does sound like fun, and the price point seems smart to me— high enough that people will consider it special, but not so high that those new to fragrance well be dissuaded from trying. I’d stop by if I had the chance
I’ve popped into Olfactory NYC twice, and based on my quick impressions from sniffing as many of the pre-fab blends as I could smell before someone offered to help me (longer than you’d think!)…they’re pretty stripped-down and basic (and don’t last long on skin). I don’t think longtime NST readers are their targeted demographic. 😉
