(A few quick PSAs...Donatella will drop by on Wednesday, and then the swap meet will start on Saturday April 20.)
Happy Easter, everyone! It's time to fill your (fantasy) Easter basket:
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
3. Your favorite candy?
4. And any random present you'd like the Easter bunny to bring you.
Note: if you live in or near Paris, you can still have the Œuf Kintsugi Chocolat Noir ("Combined with the imagination and dexterity of the pastry chef, the egg regains its original appearance, enriched with gold. One by one, the pieces of pure Bélize dark chocolate filled with praline are assembled, the shell gradually takes on its original shape, and the egg is reborn as an embellishment") sent over by courier from Pierre Hermé, €250.
I retried Sicilian Leather last night and quite liked it. If Memo would release that one in their travel size I’d jump on it. Meanwhile, my SOTD is TF Violet Blonde, a top ten favorite for spring. It’s sunny here today and I get to go have my hair(s) cut in a bit — always look forward to that.
My fantasy Easter basket:
The one perfume would be Dior Cuir Cannage, in that gigantic bottle that seems to be the only size left out there. (Just trying to make it easy on you, Mr. Bunny.)
The other scented product would be Murchie’s apricot tea. Yum.
Not sure I have a favorite candy anymore. It used to be caramels, but ever since I dislocated a disc in my jaw (NOT by eating caramels — the culprit was some truly divine and very chewy focaccia) I have a mental block and can’t enjoy them like I used to. Maybe really good milk chocolate?
And the random present would be a scarf from Hermes — I’ve always wanted to experience one. Somehow it seems a person wouldn’t merely “wear” one.
Love Hermes scarves. I pulled out the one I bought in 2001 in Paris the other day – I still love it. Pale lime green and yellows. So pretty.
Me three. The last one I bought in 2019 still has the tags on it.
Don’t know why I save them.
The same here, love the Hermes scarves. I have a couple i got at Estate sales for a very good price but don’t wear them much.
I have small collection of Hermes scarves–all from estate sales, auctions, and ebay–very vintage and I love them. You feel very special wearing one and I try to use them as much as possible….
Day 8 of incense in L’Artisan Timbuktu.
It is a beautiful sunny day here, but very windy. We will be in the upper 50s.
My nephew’s and father’s birthdays were on Wednesday. Dad would have been 82 years old. I deeply miss him. We are meeting at my sister’s place for dinner and cake early tonight. I have not seen my family in more than a month, so I am looking forward to a nice and relaxing time.
1. Comme des Garcons Jaisalmer. My bottle has a few mls left.
2. Lush Sticky Dates shower gel.
3. Peeps!
4. I am planning to go to Buffalo with a friend to watch the solar eclipse. I am asking the Easter bunny to give us sunny, clear skies. No rain, please! 🤞🏻
Have a wonderful dinner with your family. Wishing clear skies for you in every way. 🌻🌞🩷
Thank you, Lillyjo! That’s very sweet of you! 🌷🌞
pl67,
My dad was 82 when he left us on a beautiful April day 17 years ago.
He is woven into my daily life. I know you are still tender at the bone and I hope the tincture of time eases your sorrow.
Plus, you smell TERRIFIC as my dad would say.
Thank you, Apsara.
Dad also left on a beautiful, warm, sunny day in April 7 years ago. This morning, I sent my nephew a couple of videos and photos of both celebrating their birthday together with family. So many happy memories! We will watch them tonight with my sisters. Bittersweet feelings, but I am glad we can celebrate his life in ours with so much love and joy! I want to believe our dads are having a great time today in heaven.
Indeed, and if my dad had his way, pizza would be involved!
😊
I’m hoping that all the eclipse watchers get a good show on the 8th!
🤞🏻
1. Vintage Mitsouko extrait, please. An ounce. Fifties would be nice.
2. Back when Guerlain launched the Samsara bath line, I had a tub of the body cream. That would be nice.
3. Easter candy, or any candy? If the former, then a bunch of those marshmallow Peeps in all those exotic American flavours. (I’ll be at the mall later and there is a nonzero chance I’ll end up with some boring Canadian Peeps.) If the latter, I love anything black licorice as long as it isn’t salted in the European fashion, so some allsorts would be nice, and candy corn.
4. I’m good, honest.
Today I’m out running errands and such in SL Fourreau Noir, black licorice and lavender together at last. It makes me extremely happy. It’s certainly in my Lutens top five (not that I have ever made that list).
I have some S’Mores Peeps I bought at Walmart just for kicks.
A friend passed along her unwanted tub of Samsara to me and it was wonderful! I had never had any fancy, scented body products before and I was an instant convert.
How nice of your friend!!
I am fascinated that Canadian peeps only come in boring flavors.
I am always astonished when I read about the amazing candy flavors (Kit Kats, etc) available in Japan and wonder why the US doesn’t get them.
Wow! Everyone must be sleeping in this morning. I’ll do the poll tomorrow, gotta think about it.
It’s been raining all morning. No drought for us this year, so yay. I think I’ve had to intentionally water my trees and plants 2x since October.
Speaking of trees—my new plantings from last year being an unexpected drama—about half of them will be replaced on Wednesday. 🤞 These ones make it, because I won’t be getting another round of free replacements.
In Eris Delta of Venus. I’m enjoying this. Very green, but fruity sour. I’m not a big fruity girl, but this isn’t a sweet bomb, so I like it. Surprise, it’s by Antoine Lie, whose work I love. Forgot he did Night Flower and several other Eris scents.
I’m crazy about the Eris line; Mxxx is probably my favorite, though I wear Ma Bête a lot, too. Delta of Venus is wonderful – you smell great!
I’ve sniffed Mx and Ma Bete, but pretty sure I missed Mxxx. Notes look promising. Added to the sample list! (I’ve a bottle of the aforementioned Night Flower.)
I stayed up til 2 am reading and barely got up in time to do the poll! Hope other people were out doing more exciting things 🙂
Happy Easter everyone! Hope it’s a good and relaxing time and a beginning of something new and good.
From my side I wanted to share that yesterday I qualified for a Lasik surgery to get rid of my short sight, I will have the procedure on April 11.
Sotd is Azemour
Happy Easter lucasai!
Happy Easter Lucas! Great news about the surgery!
Happy Easter, lucasai! You smell wonderful and that’s great news about the Lasik surgery.
Happy Easter. Good news about the Lasik surgery.
Have a great Easter! Good news on your eligibility for corrective eye surgery!
You smell wonderful, and I hope the Lasik goes well!
Happy Easter, and congratulations on your upcoming Lasik!
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
Definitely want to try the new Papillon scent that’s coming out in August. I forget the name but the notes sound wonderful.
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
I’m definitely buying another candle by Glasshouse, makers of the much lauded (by me anyway!) dragon candle. I’m about 2/3 through the dragon, so I’ll purchase a new scent before I head to Utah for the summer.
3. Your favorite candy?
Anything with good quality caramel and chocolate, although I do like a cheap frozen Charleston Chew that’s been whacked on a countertop to break it up. Been years since I had one and pretty sure it would pull the teeth right out of my head now. 🦷
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.
I really wouldn’t mind a bottle of Bois De Iles Parfum, Mr Bunny! 🐰
No SOTD just yet, still working on toast and coffee.
I thought about you: (not sure if you can read it)
https://www.wsj.com/personal-finance/van-life-living-96f4e986?st=a3cb99srmlpg1r0&reflink=article_copyURL_share
I was able to read it, thanks! 👍
Oh, you and I on the caramel, and the Bois des Iles!
Slept and slept.
Cannot remember rain so late in the year in LA.
1. New perfume – Dior Tobacolor a big bottle would work
2. Body creme – Chanel
3. Toblerone. Several.
4. A job in my Easter basket, please.
Post shower, Tea for Two. Happy Easter to those who celebrate.
Very much hope the Easter bunny brings you a job apsara!
Fingers crossed for a job!
Thank you for all the crossed fingers!
Hello and Happy Easter!
1. Amouage Honour 43.
2. Any candle from Cire Trudon. The Bunny can surprise me.
3. Milky way or what the rest of the world calls Mars bar. If we are being generic and not brand specific, I would say toffee. I cannot resist the buttery caramel goodness at all.
4. I would like a new tote bag. My current one is a little too well loved and the corners and handles are proof.
Happy Easter to all who celebrate.
For my fantasy Easter basket.
1. I would love to have Patou 1000, I am curious about it after listening to Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez’s Live on Facebook.
2. Scented product would be scented hand creams from Bien-Aimé. They are to die for.
3. For candy, i really don’t have any favourites, don’t enjoy much any candy.
4. since it’s a fantasy,i would like to find some rare vintage perfumes .
I am wearing SMN Acqua di Fior d’Arancio ( orange blossom water) .
Hera,
I still have a bit of Patou 1000 in its silk lined box. Just a bit of juice at the bottom, must be more than 35 years old.
I think I will just leave it where it is, snug in the box.
Oh, woow, you have to smell it and please tell me what you think.
Patou 1000 in the vintage version is very different than its recent incarnation. The original was an incredible chypre.
Today’s SOTD: NEZ 1+1 Ambre à Levres. Love it.
1. A bottle or even partial bottle of SL Un Bois Vanille.
2. I’ll take the Astier de Villatte Opera candle please.
3. I’d love some really fancy truffles like the ones Robin showed in the Daily Lemming yesterday from Cacao & Cardamom Chocolatier. However, what I actually eat quite often is the Bueno minis from Kinder. Just a small bite of deliciousness occasionally.
4. I need a new pair of jeans. And I want them to be the perfect shade of blue, fit me perfectly including length, not get too stretched during the day, and make me look amazing. Thanks.
I must add another favorite candy to #3 – Lakrids Licorice. It comes in different flavors and we think it’s amazing. A good one is the caramel one with a chocolate coating and licorice in the middle. Might sound odd, but very yum.
Yes! Yes!
Those are delicious!
Good luck finding those jeans! I went shopping for some recently and struck out.
I have a pair from Yoga jeans that I love a lot.
Hi all,
I’ve been spotty lately…again. Just busy and a lot going on here.
My Easter basket:
1) I think Chamade extrait – it’s sleeting here and that blast of pure spring is needed. That, or something beautifully peachy.
2) Watkins made a lavender lotion that was a limited version years ago. It highlighted the minty aspects of lavender. I’d like that back.
3) As always…LOOK! candy bar. Dark chocolate covered nougat.
4) This would be something impossible. We said goodbye to our kitty Agnès last Sunday. Her FIV reared up and overtook her – she lost appetite and just took a turn from which we knew she wouldn’t recover. Broke our hearts. We didn’t have her long enough and loved her dearly. First time in our 25-year marriage we don’t have a cat in the house.
So, we are going away on a real vacation next weekend – first time in years.
I am sorry to hear about Agnes.
All our past friends were waiting for her at the rainbow bridge, of this I am sure.
So sorry you lost your furry friend, hope in time you will feel ready to adopt a rescue kitty.
I’m so sorry to hear about Agnès. Very hard to lose your kitty friend. Sending hugs.
I am so sorry about Agnes. It’s hard to lose them.
I am so sorry about Agnes. She is now happy and healthy across the Rainbow Bridge. Sending comforting hugs. 🌻
I’m really sorry for your loss LizzieB.
So sorry about Agnes.
Oh, so sorry. Sending warm hugs your way!
So sorry to hear about your sweet little Agnes kitty. 😿
Oh, I’ve been there with you with a FIV+ cat. I loved her so much — she was the best cat we’ve ever had. But her time with us was very short. We made it the best we could.
So sad to hear about Agnes. I hope she’s playing with Katrei now.
Lovely 16C and sunny with white clouds. Errands this morning, chocolate for tomorrow has been bought. Frozen blackberries, spinash and yogurt smoothie. Bronnley Passion Flower Eau Fraîche today, tonight TF Noir Extrême.
1. Chloe Rose essentielle intense
2. Goutal Eau d’Hadrien body lotion
3. A praliné egg from any good French pastry shop
4. I wish this spring my windows would just clean themselves.
Hopefully you will be able to find your #1 for one of your super discounts.
Thank you Lillyjo, there was a good deal on some large bottles but I only need 30ml, 50 max. We’ll see, it’s popular I think, so no risk of discontinuation, I want to explore Chloe, I like the ‘naturel’ concept, bonus no ambroxan.
I bet that blackberry smoothie was amazing. 😋
It was good, I’m also on a spinash kick.
Cold, rainy morning in LA, and somehow “La Fille de Berlin” seems perfect, so that’s what I’ve got on.
1. I’d love a 250ml bottle of Chanel’s Antaeus, pre-reformulation. The current version is excellent, but it’s missing the layered richness of the original.
2. The SPF 4(!) of Bain de Soleil’s orange gelée. (You know, for that Saint Tropez tan.) I just pre-ordered Vacation’s take on the original – fingers crossed it bears more than a passing resemblance to it.
3. For a mainstream candy, I’m pretty fond of dark chocolate Reese’s peanut butter cups. But an old family recipe for butterscotch with pecans, made by my mom, is something I cannot stop eating.
4. If the Easter Bunny is in the electronics biz, I’ll take the Canon EOS R5 mirrorless camera. I don’t need it, but it’d be a fun new toy.
Fille de Berlin was also perfect for a cold, rainy morning well up the coast earlier this week. 🙂
That Bain de Soleil jingle is an indelible childhood memory. I don’t have any scent memory—I THINK, maybe if I smelled it, it would be unlocked.
I bet if you ever smelled it, it would come back immediately. It really did nothing (SPF 4) to protect you, but it made your skin feel incredibly lush and soft.
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
I’d like to try vintage Bal a Versaille parfum. For the civet.
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
I already bought a new Thymes Frasier Fir candle for this year so I am set.
3. Your favorite candy?
Pralines. I might make some, I think there are pecans in the freezer.
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.
Since the Bunny is magical, I’m asking for upper body strength. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time since the pandemic closed them and I can hardly lift a thing. I’ll put in the work and get it back, but it would be so much easier if the Bunny could just twitch something and confer it.
Today’s SOTD is Insolence, from the Fumerie swap. I dirtied it up a little with some Zoologist Civet since it was a little too youthful-smelling.
I can send you a sample of vintage Bal a Versailles perfume, please contact me at herasuk at hotmail.
I just started going back to the gym in December. I would wish my pre-COVID fitness back with a magic wand, too. BUT, we will get it back!
SOTD = Jo Malone Salty Amber
It is salty, green amberish and a little bit of vanilla. ❤️

On to the poll!
1. Roberto Greco Rauque – so many have praised this but LuckyScent is all out.
2. Bath & Body Works Laundry Soap – I wish there was a discovery set!
3. Anything dark dark, did I say dark?
4. A decluttering genie – one can dream!
Ditto on your #4.
I know, right?
Would you be able to trust the genie though. I would be hovering over making sure they didn’t de-clutter the wrong thing. Lol.
True! One can only dream, right?
Yes. This is why the decluttering cannot be delegated or hired out.
Also this way of viewing possessions is probably why some of us have things to declutter to begin with!
Oh well 😂
At lunch today, I mentioned that I will place a higher priority on experiences rather than possessions. My sister remarked “Why are you just realizing this now?” I did not have a good answer 😳
Well, the answer is because you don’t know it until you know it. Then you know.
Exactly. The process of declutterring is important. Sorting through and assigning value to objects in your life and being left feeling freed of extraneous “stuff”. No shortcuts though.
I need to do the decluttering myself. I have found some wonderful things going thru the many boxes and totes that I moved.
Tackling the books is going to be a pain, though.
I did a big culling effort a few years ago but the books kept multiplying.
Happy Easter! We have a four day weekend, which is very welcome. The Easter bunny is a bit late to our household this year, but I’m expecting that there’ll still be plenty of chocolate eggs in the shops for a while yet.
1. You can pick one perfume.
I’ve been thinking about Immortelle from Manos Gerakinis. It’s quite sweet and not the sort of thing that I usually like, but it really appeals to me. It is probably partly the glamour associated with trying it in Athens a year ago.
2. And you can have one other scented product.
I don’t wear many other scented products, so I’m sure the Easter bunny will recognise the money saved and bring me another perfume, maybe Vero Profumo’s reissued Rubj VdE. I have the EdP, and this is quite different.
3. Your favorite candy?
That’s a hard question, but something from a local chocolate company, Bohemein.
4. And any random present?
Maybe the Easter bunny could give a hurry up to the bottle of Ambra from Omnia Profumi that is on its way from Australia. Australia Post is taking its time 🙂
Good thinking on #2 Gaynor!
Wearing a smidge of EL Legacy White Linen. I get some cedar in this and it actually IS one of the notes. Testing these Legacy versions is fun but since I never really got into the originals, I have no frame of reference.
1. For “pick a perfume” nothing really comes to mind. I already bought my limit for 2024. I guess I would get a backup bottle of No5 Eau Premiere.
2. Scented product. I would really love some Byredo or Le Labo products but they are super expensive. I found a site called “Wicked Good” that sells creams that are dupes of expensive scents. I never get dupes for perfumes but thinking of doing that for body creams. I use lotions and creams for evening after cleaning up.
3. Favorite candy is chocolate caramel. I am not picky about brand.
4. My fantasy gift would be a tree and landscaping company to thin the dead and redundant trees in the back yard and convert them into mulch for me. Husband is the sort who never wants to hire anyone for anything but the end result of the is a colossal amount of work that neither of us can do. I spent most of my week off doing raking and weeding which I enjoy to some extent but I really have too little time off to get the work done and I do NOT have tree cutting skills.
With you on the caramel!
Well, am I kicked out of the community if I confess that I don’t really want the bunny to bring me any perfume, as I already have about thirty lifetimes’ worth? But I’d take a D.S. and Durga Big Sur After Rain candle — I’ve never smelled this one, but have been intrigued for ages since I grew up camping in Big Sur at frequent intervals. And I’d also happily accept some Icelandic chocolate with licorice in it!
Day 10 post surgery and I’m more or less drowning in food from caring friends and loved ones! I’m so amazed and moved by the generosity all around me, all the many people from my community who’ve stepped up to feed me, get Biscuit to and from school, handle logistics, keep me company and make me laugh. So really, as long as the bunny fills up Biscuit’s Easter basket, I really don’t need anything at all!
So glad to hear that you’re being so well supported! That’s wonderful.
I’m glad you are doing well Isabella.
This is wonderful!
What an uplifting post! Happy to hear that your “village” has stepped up in a major way.
SOTD was Monsillage La Haute Route, which I got a sample of when I ordered some soap recently. It smells nothing like the Haute Route, but it does smell nicely and politely of a Spanish cathedral. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend the Monsillage violet soap.
My Easter basket:
1. Any perfume: Probably Feu d’Issey. Or, 1981-vintage Halston, for personal reasons.
2. Scented product: I want a full-sized candle of Otherland Extra Hour. I bought a small candle when I was in NYC last year, and that was the best of them. Or Santa Maria Novella rosewater.
3. Favourite candy: Anything with high quality chocolate and caramel. Or not-high-quality chocolate and caramel. I’ll take a Caramilk egg. When I was in high school we used to have to sell candy bars for various fundraisers, and I always raided the caramel ones. You could break off the sections and suck out the caramel through the channels in them…I loved those.
4. Random present: A new car? (Well, that’s a big one. I’d take the insurance assessment on our old car, though.) Or…an irrigation system to take care of my garden while we’re away in the fall.
I’d also take a bottle of Puente Iris Doux…
I’m with you on the chocolate and caramel! And, oh gosh, I’d suppressed the memories of having to go door to door selling candy bars in grade school. It was always so dreadful and onerous, even with a buddy, and I’m not sure that it taught us any adult skills other than the knowledge that most people do not like to be bothered…
Fortunately I never had to go door to door with the candy bars, but I had to do it with Girl Scout cookies, pizzas, and sausage and cheese. I definitely hated it. The only thing I really learned was that you should be very cautious about houses with dogs barking inside.
We sold the candy bars in class in high school — much easier to just carry a box of candy bars from class to class.
Thankfully Ockeghem Teen has never really had to go door to door. She’s sold raffle tickets at a table her elementary school set up at the local grocery store, and otherwise has just hit up family. (This reminds me, though, she’s supposed to be selling doughnuts for her track team right now, and I’m kind of stumped on that one as family is all far away and we don’t like doughnuts. Even selling manure for her other track club was easier — lots of people need manure this time of year.)
🤣🤣🤣 at “selling manure”!
I understand intellectually why it would work, but it still sounds funny to this suburbanite.
And she was selling it in the city! 🙂 Her track club was in a part of town where there were a lot of large yards and gardens.
Happy Easter! 🐇🌷🐣🌞
Wearing L’Artisan Passage D’Enfer for my last day of incense scents.
Beautiful warm, sunny day.
I’m on my way out to church and then joining my aunt and my youngest sister and her family for brunch. It has been a nice comforting weekend. I am so thankful for it.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Easter!🐰
Thank you, Lillyjo! 🐇
Happy Easter! Have a wonderful day, pl67.
Thank you, Springpansy. I hope you also had a great time!
Happy Easter, perfumelover67!
I am glad to hear that you will be spending it with your loved ones.
Thank you, Jalapeno! We had a very nice time together.
Happy Easter! We’ll have a sunny day to celebrate. Church, then hosting a brunch with homemade bagels and lots of toppings. I will be in Memo Sintra.
That sounds like the perfect brunch.
Thanks. The bagels have been rising in the fridge. I am crossing my fingers that they are great. I bake them soon!
Update: bagels turned out really well. It was a nice brunch.
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, lillyjo!
Happy Easter, springpansy!
Happy Easter, Jalapeno!
Happy Easter!
I slept in this morning and am being slow with getting any food started.
Poll answers:
1. I would love a bottle of vintage Fendi.
2. I would like to try the No.5 body oil.
3. Yesterday I had a chocolate truffle egg so that is my new favorite. Lol.
4. I could really use some good health insurance.
You deserved to sleep in,
And that should have been a period, not a comma. 😒
Great poll answers!
Happy Easter to those who celebrate.
We got some terrible news about my brother from the oncologist on Friday, and he and his wife are heading back home to Michigan today. The treatments have not worked, his cancer has spread, and the doctor said it is time to think of palliative care and hospice–“go home now if you want to, while you still can.” It was a horrible thing to hear, but I appreciate that he gave us the news in a straightforward and kind manner. What a tough job that must be.
What a shock–I felt both light-headed and sick to my stomach at the news. For now my job is to be as supportive as I can. I feel it is so important to enjoy the small things and beauties of life, little flowers, acts of kindness, a soft breeze, an affectionate cat, a nice scent.
I’m so sorry Calypso.
I am so sorry to read this, Calypso.
I will keep your family in my thoughts when I light my incense nightly and hope for peace and comfort.
I’m so sorry for your terrible news and the sense of loss over your brother’s future. Sending lots of love.
So sorry to hear your discouraging news. Thinking of you.
My heart aches for you and your brother, Calypso. I am so sorry to hear this.
So sorry to hear this news. Sending love and healing your family’s way.
So sorry that the treatment could not stop cancer, hoping you can have some precious time with your brother and that he can be made comfortable.
So sorry to hear this, Calypso. I hope he enjoys the time he has.
Calypso, I am so sorry, what awful news.
Oh, I am so, so sorry to hear that. I hope both you and he can revel in the small things in the time you have.
I am so sorry, Calypso. I will have your family in my daily prayers.
I’m so very sorry, Calypso. That sounds incredibly difficult to deal with.
I’m so sorry to read this, Calypso. I hope he is able to get home and to feel the love around him. I agree, it is all the little things and the many tiny moments of beauty every day that really make up our lives. I try to remember that, but it is so easy to forget.
My heart is breaking for you, Calypso. I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
I am so very sorry for your unhappy news. You are right, it is the small things that will really mean something in the end. I hope you are able to spend time with him, i am sure it will bring you both some joy and peace.
Oh Calypso, I’m so sorry and join others in wishing your family much comfort during this painful time.
Rabbit rabbit rabbit. April is the one month that always seems to surprise me with its arrival. Every single year. How can it be April already? It’s such a “ down to business” month after long Christmas and summer holidays. Back home and no ambergris to show for it, despite beach combing. Beautiful, remote beaches though.
I still have Winter Palace on my list. It’s been so long I don’t remember how it smells.
I would like Boucheron Jaipur if I could ever find it.
Maybe some frankincense resin for a non-perfume scented treat.
Candy? Well it’s my grandfathers birthday today ( he died in 1980) and his favourite was sugared almonds, which were a once a year treat . I used to love the pastel colours and how the colour faded when you sucked them…you had to take them out of your mouth to check on the fading progress.
Wearing Fiele Viola for a hint of that violet scent
I’m glad you reminded me of April 1st. I may still forget …
I used to love those almonds!
I don’t dare eat them now because of the hard coating.
Happy Easter to everyone celebrating. 💐🌷🪻🐇🐣
Onto the poll answers!
1. Maybe a vintage bottle of Samsara parfum, or Un Air de Samsara?
2. Some Flying Fox showergel from LUSH. Or the Mastic showergel from Korres.
3. Favorite candy? For Easter, it’s Jelly Belly jelly beans. Year round, it’s Chocolove candy bars.
4. Extra? For everyone going thru dark times, or dealing with a broken heart, I wish for light and healing. OK bunny?
👍, especially for number 4.
Happy Easter Jalapeno!
That’s a beautiful #4
I also love your #4.
A horrible night with no staff. Really, I don’t know how this is legal anywhere in the US, or any developed country for that matter. 75% of staff are travelers, and it was a traveler who oriented me last week. I didn’t think anything would ever be as bad as Covid times, but it seems to just get worse and worse with each successive contract. Anywho, I won’t go into details, which I know is shocking and disappointing to everyone here. 😉
As for perfume, I’m wearing Indochine to try to soothe myself. For whatever reason (I’m sure there’s some deep seated disturbance in my psyche), I was a thumb sucker when I was little and every once in a while I have the urge to kickstart that habit. I guess picking at my cuticles isn’t enough anymore.
To all the folks struggling these days, I have no optimistic platitudes except to say everyone here is strong and resilient and with a little help from our friends (perfume friends too!) we will carry on. 💪
I’m sorry about your work situation and even more sorry about what it represents in this world. I believe in your last paragraph. We are stronger than we often give ourselves credit for. Sending you strength.
Yes to all of this.
Gosh Deva. Hope your time there will go quickly.
Spring is here! I’ve been sleeping with my windows open this weekend, and the sound of birds is so thick. Wonderful!
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it? A la Nuit. No matter how many jasmine fragrances I try, I can’t stop thinking about this one.
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it? The scented hand and foot cream from Buly 1803. It is THAT good.
3. Your favorite candy? The candy I most want is guimauves from Paris—the big square ones in brilliant colors and flavors. Nothing compares.
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you. A bookbinding sewing frame from Peachey Tools. So expensive, but so elegant and functional.
I hope April is a beautiful month for everyone.
