I wish we still had a Body Shop in our mall, but, alas, it closed some time ago. I still have their White Musk Libertine.
I think both BBW and TBS are closing mall stores, since generally speaking malls are not doing well.
Our mall is actually expanding. We’re getting a Target sometime this year, as well as an arcade/bowling alley. There has also been much talk of converting the old Lord and Taylor’s into apartments. The latter is sometime down the road, but they are doing what they can to adapt to these strange times.
We are also getting an arcade and bowling alley.
That happened at a mall near me. They got a Target, and several restaurants and amusements. But I have to say that in this case, it did not really change the equation in terms of shopping / foot traffic. Target does well, the Apple store is packed, Sephora has customers, the restaurants are fine, almost everyplace else is crickets. So the mall will survive but it is not the same.
