French niche line Olfactive Studio will introduce Smoky Soul, a new unisex fragrance joining the Sepia collection. Smoky Soul is the first in a trilogy exploring world tea traditions, and focuses on a smoky Chinese tea flavored with osmanthus.
Inspiring and carnal, Smoky Soul features smoked black tea infused with Osmanthus absolute with fruity accents of apricot.
Black tea, extracted with supercritical CO2, is smoked with Java Vetiver essence, which brings out facets of burnt hot wood. Black pepper enhances the spicy and black notes of the tea while a trace of seaweed absolute accentuates the mossy, savory and mineral notes of some Chinese teas.
Smoky Soul was developed by perfumer Marc-Antoine Corticchiato (of Parfum d’Empire), who is also expected to develop the next two fragrances in the trilogy. Additional notes include rose, jasmine and patchouli.
Olfactive Studio Smoky Soul will be $240 for 100 ml Extrait de Parfum (and will possibly be available in 15 ml as well).
