Happy Tuesday and happy Halloween! Birthdays today: John Keats, Ethel Waters. What fragrance are you wearing?
Double points for me today in Diptyque Oyédo + a cup of Kagoshima Saemidori Sencha from Upton.
Reminder: on 11/3, we're off to Japan (just in time for Culture Day). Wear a perfume that is named for a place in Japan, or that reminds you of a (real or imaginary) trip to Japan, or that features a Japanese ingredient, or ?
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2023, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is Green tea [cropped] by City Foodsters at flickr; some rights reserved.
The nostalgia! When Robin reviewed Oyedo, it was $58/50 ml.
Drawing a blank re a Japanese connection, so I’m in Ambre a Levres.
It is flurrying–won’t last, but goes hand in hand with the upcoming time change.
Happy Halloween👻🦇🎃
Love Ambre a Levres, wish it came in a larger bottle so I don’t feel guilty overspraying!
Ha! Diptyque used to be a bargain. Although even now, $125 ain’t bad compared to some.
Hello and happy Halloween 👻 🎃!
Sotd is Shiseido Koto. Very pretty but doesn’t last. But I definitely don’t mind re-applying.
I am reading a new book that is very Halloweeny – Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs?: And Other Questions About Dead Bodies.
It’s very fun to read (the writing is funny) and filled with trivias/info!
Koto is very pretty. And that book sound fun! 🐈⬛
SOTD is Shiseido Mai. This is apparently a “Japan only” fragrance which may be discontinued. I have not been able to find much info about it. I have seen it described as an incense floral, which I would say is fitting, but it is light and airy, not heavy or smoky as some incense frags can be. It apparently came in both EdC and extrait concentrations; my bottle is the EdC. I have a number of Shiseidos, including several not officially sold in the West, and I believe I can identify a sort of Shiseido signature to them.
I wish they distributed here…always heard good things about their fragrances.
I do wish myself that they would just market all their fragrances here, not just the current iteration of Zen. I got reeled into tracking down Shiseidos after reading Chandler Burr’s article in the NYT “Display It, Don’t Spray It”.
It started with White Rose, which I had to get my hands on after reading CB’s description of it as “one of the most astonishingly beautiful perfumes I’ve ever encountered.” For the record, I concur; White Rose is hands down the most beautiful rose scent I have ever sniffed.
Most of the non-US Shiseidos I have (that is, everything except Zen and Feminite du Bois, which I bought at regular department stores) came from ebay, except for White Rose, which I got from The Perfumed Court. I prefer to buy only full boxes, preferable NIB, so I don’t have to worry about possible contamination/adulteration. The biggest drawback is that many of them are necessarily blind buys, since there is no easy way to sniff them first. So far, though, I have not been really disappointed in any of them.
Happy Halloween!🧙🎃👾
I decided to go fun and sweet today, so I went with BBW Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte shower gel, body lotion, and mist. The scent is warming me up on this sunny but very chilly day.
On my third cup of coffee and a couple of ghost shaped Peeps.
Happy Tuesday!
No fun Peep flavors for Halloween?
I didn’t find any flavors for Halloween. But I am looking forward to the ones for the Holidays!
I love BBW Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte gel, lotion and body scrub. I use it for evening baths during this time of the year. It does have a warm feel to it.
It is a very cozy scent.
Have a couple of Peeps for me if you can! I gave them up many years ago and miss them.
I will! 😀
I also love this scent, and it layers very nicely under many of my fall scents. I wear it a lot through Thanksgiving.
I went with an Alkemia perfume oil from last year’s Halloween sample set. Samhain is very smoky and woody, and would have fit last week’s CP perfectly. Very reminiscent of a bonfire, which fits Samhain beautifully.
I love smoky woods…I’m sure you smell great 🙂
Hello all!
Robin, glad to see you’re well enough for perfume again.
I’m celebrating the first cold front of the season with my pink wool coat and my beloved Borneo 1834. It’s all about balance, right? I still love every one of the Lutens I sampled back in my first sample pack (circa 2006?), and have bottles of them now.
I seem to sleep worse on the days I have to get up early for class. I’m already two coffees in.
Have a great day everyone!
House twins! SL does great perfumes for the cold days.
It’s true! Though I will admit to wearing them in the heat of summer too. 😶🌫️
Bad sleep twins, too! I woke up at 5:30 and could not fall back asleep. And it was pitch dark out…UGH.
Ugh, such a bitter time. Good luck tonight.
I did much better last night, thanks Coumarin.
Good morning!
No perfume yet but I have been wearing a lot of Coromandel as the weather cools. I only have one Japanese perfume, Shiseido Hanatsubaki Kai Sumire, a lovely violet but I don’t feel like wearing it today.
Well, in the time it took me to write this, I looked over at the perfume shelf and decided on Chergui. Happy Halloween everyone!
I am wearing a love child of Coromandel, le lion
also a great winter wear!
Coromandel is a good one for this time of year.
Today’s weather was perfect for Coromandel.
Made it to super early yoga, and as we finished we got a beautiful sunrise 🙂
D’zing! for the win over here-I really love this scent, and don’t get any of the weirdness. Plus best bottle ever.
Happy Halloween !
Love Dzing! Have a bub. You smell great!
Oh my, pre sunrise yoga! Good for you.
Fils de Dieu since it has rice and shiso among its notes
Perfect!I might copy you on Friday!
You smell lovely. It is on my list for the same reason.
Good call! I have some of that around, so now it’s an option for me.
Amber Oud today, simple, warm, non-CP, as far as I know, but oh well… bright and chilly day here. Adorable hubby thinks they may let him come home today, so I am off to the hospital for perhaps the last time in this round…woo hoo!!
Fingers crossed that he does get to come home today!!
I hope your husband is discharged and both of you can relax at home from now on.
Crossing fingers!
Great news! And you, smelling so good!
Fingers and toes crossed!
Wearing SL Chergui for another chilly day as we head south in search of non-freezing temperatures.
That’s a beautiful cup. So smol! I would need to have unlimited refills for that size cup just to stay hydrated. Currently drinking scorching coffee from a very large cup! ☕️
Happy Tuesday!
Hey, I’ve been wondering which coffee-making method you use now that you’ve sized-up your kitchen. I assume no k-cups are involved, waste management being what it is, but do you indulge in French press or something? Just curious.
I still make coffee the way I did when I started out in the van. I just do a pour over. It’s the best tasting coffee, imo. The filters are biodegradable which is a plus. The extra hot water not used for coffee does double duty for washing face and brushing teeth in the mornings. That way I don’t have to waste propane by turning on the water heater. It’s a 6 gallon tank and I would never use that much hot water unless showering or washing my hair. I’m very water conscious, especially when I don’t have easy access to water at a campground or the like. Even then, I really limit the amount of water I waste. Never used k-cups, especially after I heard the creator lamenting his creation because of the amount of plastic waste created. I had a “plastic awakening” in 2017 when I first visited Oregon and fell in love with the coast. I still remember walking the dog on the beach and seeing plastic particles that seemed to be just as prevalent as sand. I’m not perfect, but I started being much more conscious of the waste material I created. Nothing big, glass or metal straws, laundry sheets instead of pods or liquid. Still looking for a garbage can liner not made of plastic but haven’t found one yet…cheers!
Other than lining your trash bin with newspapers and washing out the bin when it gets stinky and yucky, perhaps this is a good alternative? I don’t like them because of how they feel (kind of sticky) but may meet your needs.
https://greenpaperproducts.com/collections/compostable-bags/compostable-trash-bags
I might see if I can track those down. I use basically the same thing for dog 💩, only a smaller size obviously. They’re rather expensive…now I use plastic bin liners, plastic shopping bags if I’m in an area where they’re still legal, or paper grocery bags…
Perfume twins! You smell great. I had forgotten how good Chergui is.
Hey twin! We’re setting the world on fire today! 🙌
OMG twinsies!!!
Twinsie/Triplets! GMTA! ✌🏼
I’m basking in Dryad this morning while drinking coffee with Reddi-Wip (SOMEone forgot to buy more milk, rrrrr) and watching a truly magnificent sunrise. I don’t “insta” a lot, having that account mostly to lurk, but today I had to post one of the many sunrise photos I took out an upstairs window — hope this works: https://www.instagram.com/p/CzET6rPrg_X/
Very beautiful golden sunrise SheriG!!!
Stunning sunrise!
Gorgeous !!!
Beautiful!
Beautiful!
My eyes were refreshed by your beautiful picture! LOL, Reddi-Wip; we are rather strict about shopping once per week and improvise in various ways when we run out of “essentials.”
That’s stunning. What time is sunrise where you are?
Hi Kanuka! Right now sunrise is just before 8 a.m. We’re on daylight saving time for another couple of days, which is why sunrise is so late, but this weekend we fall back to standard time. We also reportedly have an atmospheric river headed our way, so sunrises may be invisible here for a while — part of the reason I was motivated to capture this one.
Gorgeous sunrise!
Very nice!
Wow, what a beautiful shot! 🤩
Firey sky, very nice 😃
Gorgeous pic!!
Chanel Cristalle EDT
That is a great scent! My very first Chanel was Cristalle
You smell fabulous 😍
I’ve got to try the edt one day, but whether or no, I love the edp, too. I am sure you smell wonderful.
Yum. Still the best Cristalle.
(Ha, although I say that with complete ignorance, not having smelled a new bottle of either version in years.)
Good stuff!
I am still in Le Lion today.
I am trying to make a Japanese connection so I can get some points, since I don’t see myself wearing anything else this week.
Maybe this can be a connection between Le Lion and Kanainu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komainu
Have you checked out the new Lenny Kravitz video? Saw it on Vulture or The AV Club a couple of weeks ago, and the comments alone made me lol. Would link, but suspect it’s NSFW. Song is TK421.
Oh my.
I think 🤔 that is the best music video I have seen in years
Going to take a cold shower 🚿
Well, now I HAVE to go check it out.
what did you think?
He certainly keeps in good shape, doesn’t he (fans self frantically). I like the music too. 😉
Oh- there was music? 😂
😂😂😂
Hope you are feeling stronger today and less sore.
I am! And doing a lot of reading…
Unfortunately I don’t think I have it in me to go to the library this week and let them know. I miss it there but want to make sure I am in top shape
I’m in Dear Polly for teapot Tuesday.
There was a dusting of snow covering things when I left the house this morning, but I’m not going to complain because the sun is out!🌞 It was yesterday too, I don’t think we saw it once last week.
The weatherman said this will be one of the coldest halloweens in recent years, and although I have days when I miss my kids being little, today is not one of those days! We will stay tucked inside this evening where it’s nice and warm.
Keep cosy! We had snow last week, which was very late but lovely.
Thanks Kanuka, we will!
This is one of the chilliest Halloweens in recent times for my area, too.
Stay warm Jalapeno!🥶
I wasn’t sitting outside giving out candy this year, thank goodness!
Happy Halloween 🎃!
And in direct contrast, I love the serenity of today’s photo!
SOTD = Fzotic Corpse Reviver
While it may not be at the top of my loves in the Fzotic line, I love it for its depiction of Halloween – a scary clown 🤡.

Other than my stash of Ferrero Rocher chocolate candies, I have nothing here for the kiddies if they stop by. I may get a bag of something at Wegmans in a little bit and I will leave them out like I did last year. My dad used to give out change …
That is funny, were the kids disappointed to get money? Or happy?
It was 50/50 but this was a good 10 – 15 years ago when you could still buy something with a quarter. I think my dad gave out 50 cents.
I remember being really disappointed with families that gave out useful things, like pencils. Now, pencils seem like a great idea! Of course, when we were young, candy was actually a treat. I might be wrong but I don’t think it’s as big a deal now.
I guess change is better than giving out bananas on Halloween.
Ahahahaha 😆
There were some people who actually did that when I was a kid.
We often did the same. My mom bought rolls of quarters and opened them and gave each kid a couple two or three. The way prices are these days, it’s cheaper to give money than to buy Halloween candy..💸💸💸
I had sticker shock, even worse than last year. I don’t usually plan until the day off, if I do. This year, I got a pack of 14 mini snack packs (ok, really 12 because I held back 2) and three 6-packs of boxed raisins. I put all in a nice fluorescent green garbage bin and let the kids tear into it. I will bring in the bin at 8PM.
Wearing Tobacco Vanille today and looking at the potential of getting some snow tonight or tomorrow.
Not ready for snow here!
I reached for my old Shiseido Feminite du Bois for the CP. I can’t believe I bought this at TJ Maxx oh so many years ago. I don’t even bother to go there these days, because I never find anything good.
In typical fashion, my son decided this morning that he does want to dress up for Halloween after all, sigh. Luckily his costume from last year still fits. Trick-or-treating is still up in the air, depending on his mood. I just read an article that some towns have banned teenagers from trick-or-treating!
Our TJX is rather tired these days too, but last year, they had quite a few Angel Muse edp’s! I have the “slot machine addition” to it; having hit the jackpot once or twice, I can’t not make a run every now and then!
Oh, interesting. I don’t mind teens trick or treating at all.
I don’t have a problem with teens trick or treating as long as they wear costumes and are polite.
And everyone has to say “Trick or Treat!”
This CP has prompted me to ink up one of my favourite fountain pens, a Mount Fuji inspired “Rokka” ( Platinum 3776 limited edition) which has a clear barrel that is faceted like a hexagonal snowflake. It catches the light and sparkles, and the ink inside throws nice colours along its length. It’s so lovely that I will ink up all my Japanese pens this week and have fun sketching and writing. Wearing a mystery J-Scent ( blurred label on sample) which is also lovely and looking out at the trees peeping through dense mist.
That pen sounds beautiful! I’m not a fancy pen-user myself, but I remember loving all the beautiful ones they used to have at Levenger. I don’t know if they even have IRL stores anymore.
I had a mystery sample a while ago, and the entire label was illegible. I liked it quite a bit, too; what a shame I could never figure out what it was.
I do calligraphy here and there and have loved it for years. Fun stuff. 😊
Oh, that pen sounds wonderful!
I’m feeling pretty terrible from my Covid and flu shots yesterday afternoon. I know the Covid one is the culprit. I still haven’t gotten Covid and every time I have the vaccine side effects, I think about how much I really don’t want to feel this bad for more than a day. Intense body aches, sore arm, fatigue, headache, blah. Even a teeny bit of nausea when I ate an orange right after waking up. Thanks for coming to my pity party. 😉 Usually, I feel better by the evening of the day after so I hope that holds true. I’ll be unscented until I feel better and then I’ll probably find something spooky to wear.
I just went through that! I hope you feel better soon. I drank tea, napped and read a book, but that’s hard if you’re trying to work!
Thankfully, I saw this coming and took off work today and tomorrow! I’m definitely taking it easy today and napping as much as I need.
I have not gotten Covid either, knock on wood, so I figure if I get a few side effects I won’t complain too much. I have been fortunate to just have a headache and chills once and a few swollen lymph nodes once. It is better than getting sick with Covid.
I totally agree! Thankful for vaccines. But I am a baby when I don’t feel well, so I do complain hehe. 😉
It’s time to baby yourself! ❤️ I hope you feel much better by the end of the day.
Thank you, Ann! I re-upped my ibuprofen and had a healthy breakfast so am starting to feel better.
What you describe is how I felt after my first COVID vaccine (it was the J&J). Honestly the worst body aches I have ever had in my life, even worse than any bout of influenza I have had. I have had two boosters since then, and had side effects both times–not as bad as the first shot, but bad enough, and longer lasting, if less intense. The most recent booster made me feel tired and rundown for a good two weeks. After avoiding it for three years, I finally did pick up the COVID virus this past July. I can’t say I had any symptoms at all for the first week, and wouldn’t even have had any idea I had COVID if I had not taken a test, which was required for an event I was attending. I did have some delayed side effects; I developed a dry cough that took a couple of months to resolve, and fatigue that lasted for a week or two. All in all, though, the symptoms of the actual virus were milder than the side effects of the vaccines I have had.
Those COVID vaccinations are rather gnarly, aren’t they? Worse than a tetanus shot for sure.
ooof the flu+covid shot this year took me out too. the first day after was the worst, and i was still groggy for another day but was fine after. good luck and rest up!
TRF, I hope that you feel better. How awful! Rest and hydrate, have a nap and take it easy if you can!
This year’s Covid booster even got to me a bit like none of the others did. Hope you feel better soon; it’s all worth the protection.
Scent: MMM Under the Lemon Tree, because lemon! Started out the day with a dab of Akro Awake – for me, the coffee start is fantastic, but it gets progressively sweeter over time. It makes for a very good pre-shower scent, because I can enjoy it for a while, then move on to something else.
Weather: First snow showers of the season, but a lovely interlude of sunshine midmorning. We’re back to cloudy (thus the lemon sunshine perfume), and there’s some chance the snow starts in around the trick-or-treating timeframe. We’ll see how much of this candy makes it way out the door – always hard to predict.
I am definitely craving lemon scents lately and haven’t tried this one, will have to ck it out:)
Aw, kids should not have to trick or treat in snow!
I remember trick or treating in snow a couple of times as a kid.
SOTD is VCA Bois d’Iris.
Like most people, I think Christmas is advertised way too early, but believe it or not I have all my Christmas shopping done and today mailed out what I needed to send to the grandchildren. Could it be the OCD in me? Probably😊😄😋
Oh, and Happy Halloween everyone!
I never finished this early, but back when I still had a large list of Christmas gift recipients, my goal was always to have everything bought and wrapped by Thanksgiving.
Oh my goodness. I have barely thought about Thanksgiving.
Good for you!
Trying to ignore the Xmas stuff as best I can this year.
I’m sure with all you have had this year it is difficult. Will you be moving before Christmas?
I have kind of a hard time during this time of year too. My birthday is the day after Christmas and even though my dad died several years ago, I didn’t see him again after my birthday. (He died a few months later.) Now, after my mom dying a few years ago and being an only child, it is kind of hard for me during holidays and special events. I have my husband’s family, but still not the same without anyone on my side.
It seems like we all have “stuff” in our lives we have to deal with at some time. I sure think about you, Robin and others on here often.
I am not sure exactly when in December I will be moving. Too many things up in the air right now.
Time to start dealing with that stuff.
Yep, we all have stuff…more and more of it as we get older.
It’s been over 20 years since my dad died and almost 13 since my mom died. Nothing is the same without them, but I’m so thankful for all the memories of great (and some bad!) holidays we had as a family. We were midsized with grandparents on my moms side (my dads parent were in Ireland), one uncle in the US, some cousins here and there. Over the years I’ve watched it whittle down to nothing since neither myself nor my brother and sister-in-law had kids. It makes me sad, so that’s why I generally volunteer to work these holidays. At least I’m useful that way.
That is a very kind thing to do, and I am sure is greatly appreciated.
Oh my goodness…rabbits tomorrow!
I have on my fall/winter bathrobe, took it out last night.
Have a sample of Parfums de Marly Althier from Luckyscent, so will give it a try.
Interview this afternoon. Hoping to land a project soon.
Robin, the picture is lovely.
Good luck with the interview!
Hope you got the job apsara!
Hope that your interview went well apsara!
Best of luck! 🤞🏼
I am in Hermès Osmanthe Yunnan for a calm rainy evening. I know that osmanthus grows in Japan, but this perfume was originally made as an homage to China so I’m not sure I can claim any points 🙂
Happy Halloween everyone!
You smelled so good points didn’t matter!
I’m wearing Chanel Bois des Iles parfum this morning. I think the connection to Japan is weak, other than Japan has trees and so does the perfume name…I am chalking up my lack of CP inspiration to a poor night’s sleep. I hope to do better tomorrow.
“Japan has trees” made me laugh, so thank you!
Hope we both get better sleep tonight.
Lots of love for my SOTD today:Chergui!
I needed the comforting tobacco-hay-vanilla on this(hopefully!!)supercold day in October.Tomorrow we’ll be almost back to normal at 23°C high.
One of my favorite pieces of furniture in my apartment is my Japanned black lacquered Chippendale secretaire.Beautiful panels depicting a tea ceremony and music soiree, white cranes and traditional houses, while the inside drawers are all red with gold handpainted drawings of various scenes. It was supposed to be THE PERFUME CUPBOARD,but it’s too impractical for that.
XO’s
*this LAST supercold day….
That cupboard sounds like a real treasure! And of course, you smell fabulous!
2nd that!
It was a chilly 51 degrees F (10.5 degrees C) for the high temp here today. Those are December type temps!
I would love to see that cabinet!
Thanks guys, maybe my insta will ne up and colorful again asap, then I’ll post a pic or 2 and link.✌🏻🤗
The weather has been warmer over the last couple of days, which is very welcome. I’m wearing Le Galion’s Bourrasque, a light amber.
Yay for warmth! As you get warmer we are of course getting colder…I am bundled up right now, although really it’s 45, not all that bad.
Happy Halloween, the glowing orange of my Mauboussin Histoire d’Eau beckoned this morning and tonight I didn’t know what to wear so I ended up in Clair de Musc.
Mauboussin is difficult to find here. Even the discounters are hit or miss.
Mai had worn off, so now I am in Shiseido Murasaki, the original formula in the tall, purplish bottle.
I am a bit put out right now. I am baking pies for a church event, and the pies need to be delivered tomorrow morning. I planned to make one blueberry and one pumpkin, and had bought both regular and deep dish piecrusts during my grocery run yesterday, since the pumpkin filling usually does not seem to fit in a regular piecrust. The only thing is, I cannot find the deep dish crusts anywhere. They are not in the freezer, fridge, pantry, or anywhere in my car. They ARE on the receipt from the grocery store, so I paid for them but they did not make it home with me. I would be ready to own up to the error if I had done something with them (put them in the pantry instead of the freezer, left them in the car, etc.), but it really irks me to pay for something that doesn’t make it back into my cart.
Yes, I do know how to make piecrust from scratch, I just hate doing it. Now I am wondering whether I should (1) try to stretch the crust to be able to fit all the filling in (2) give in and make my own piecrust, or (3) just put a much filling as will fit into the crust I have, and do something else with any leftover filling. I am wondering if it would work to just put some of it in a custard cup (without a crust) and bake it as a sort of pumpkin custard? I will probably go with #3.
pumpkin custard sounds good, or a pumpkin crumble! I love crumbles as lazy alternatives to pies.
Generally, if you call the store they will give you the missing items. I’ve done that once or twice for things that were rather expensive, like Parmesan cheese wedges…🙄 But it can be a PITA depending on how far away your grocery is.
Yeah, it’s not far away at all (three blocks), and it’s not much money either, mostly I’m just annoyed that something I need and made a point of buying isn’t available when I need it because of someone else’s error. I just really didn’t feel like going out to get that one item. I was already in the middle of cooking/baking, and didn’t feel like stopping to run out to the store for one thing.
The pumpkin custard is my favorite part of the pie.
Pie crust is my least favorite thing to make, too. I know it’s too late to help you now, but I used to make a pumpkin flan that was wonderful. I don’t have the recipe anymore, but I did find a similar one with an online search. Maybe for Thanksgiving?
This was for a church fundraising meal, and they specifically asked for either pies or cakes, so a crustless custard would not have worked. For Thanksgiving, since it is only two of us, we just go out to eat somewhere.
How annoying, I’m so sorry!
Happy Halloween! I’ve got my jack-o-lantern carved and set out. We have a massive amount of candy, so I hope we get a good crowd. It’s chilly and windy but I’ve never noticed the weather affecting our turnout. We shall see. I hope everyone with a porch light on gets to see some cute kids!! No CP points; I saw a little bottle of Hilary Duff with Love from a recent rooting-around, so I spritzed away. Such a nice woody base. I’ll get serious about the CP tomorrow!
I had a kid dressed up as a knight in plate armor. And two miniature superheroes who *might* have come up to my knees.
The trick or treaters have been sparse this year, and started late.
Happy Pumpkin Day 🎃 🐈⬛️
Definitely noticing a temp dip, not enough to turn my heat on yet but enough to crave hot cocoa lol.
Sotd Chanel Jersey
Last call for the Chanel 1957 split..if anyone wants a spot just hit me up..kalliela11 at the hawtmale.
Hope ok to post? But going to do Chanel Paris-Riviera too. Needing a Chanel fix I guess lol. $16.50 for 10 ml, shipped. 6 spots available. USA only PayPal only. If not ok to post, feel free to delete.
Snickers snack size is my weakness along with Chanel lol. 🍬
I do love frozen Snickers, and you smell lovely! Jersey and Beige were complete surprises, not my usual thing but I do love them!
My favorite are the snack size Twix. That cookie and caramel combo gets to me every time. Heaven help me if they ever come out with a dark chocolate version!
I won’t delete Omega, but please let that be the last of it 🙂
No problem and sorry:)
Doesn’t seem to be interest in it anyway:)
Bvlgari Eau Perfumee Au The Bleu, because it has shiso note.
The Au The Bleu is so pretty in the height of summer.
Ah, good call!
Happy Halloween! On theme w/ SS Gibbon’s Mischief Night. 🎃 👻 🦇
Oooh, I have a sample of this!
Happy Halloween NST! 🕷️🎃💀👻🐈⬛
Not a single trick or treater here yet. I have the porch light on and candy ready just in case.
Further news update: we ended up having 9 offers by the deadline this morning. Eight of them were real; one was an insulting $15K below asking price. My thoughts on that are not NST-safe.
We accepted one of the legitimate offers. Hopefully things will go smoothly.
SOTD = commando, except for Dame Perfumery Gardenia soliflore body butter.
I hope it goes well Jalapeno.
I would say congratulations but I know it is bitter sweet. I am glad though that you got a good offer.
Thank you lillyjo. It is indeed bittersweet.
That is wonderful news! I hope all goes well. 🙂
Thanks SmokeyToes!
Hoping all goes smoothly and congratulations on selling so fast. It took 3 miserable months to sell my house in BC. Total nightmare.
Thank you cazaubon.
Congrats! I hope all goes smoothly for you, too!
Thanks madtowngirl!
I hope you have a smooth transaction. Eight offers is fantastic, and glad you were able to accept one. “Boo” to the lowballer; totally insulting.
Thank you Gail!
I hope the lowballer runs out of TP when they need it most!
Congrats on all the offers, much deserved after all your hard work!! I hope it all goes smoothly.
Thanks tulipani!
Now comes something even more challenging: packing for a move.
Congrats jalapeño! The lowball offer – what goes around will come around.
Thank you hajusuuri!
I was shocked at the number of offers. It exploded overnight. But our Realtor said that we live in a rather desirable area. He wasn’t kidding.
Congratulations on the offers. Fingers crossed it works out!
Having been a “lowball” / under asking price offer in a very competitive market in the past…it could just be their agent’s advice / not realizing there was a bidding war / being stuck in what used to be reality. There used to be a universe in which you bid under asking and then negotiated (actually that used to be…normal…), though I know these days that feels like a fairy tale land. We’ve bid under asking both times we’ve bought, not meaning to insult the owners, just because that was how things seemed to work and our agent agreed. One time we got it for under asking even after the owner threw a fit, claiming insult, though we were the only offer she’d had after a month on the market; we shrugged and moved on and she came back, hat in hand. The other time the owner asked us to come up to asking since she had another bid over asking but felt we were a better fit for the development. Anyway, I wouldn’t take a bid under asking as an insult; it was just a poor negotiating tactic in an environment they probably didn’t totally understand.
Thanks ockeghem!
Real estate prices here have been crazy since before COVID. Most properties don’t stay on the market very long and go for well over asking price. So given that background, the lowball offer wasn’t taken seriously for a second.
I’m glad you’re able to get your price! Hoping for that for us someday when we have to sell, but given the market here we’re going to have to stay put for as long as we possibly can…hence all the renos.
I hope that you don’t have to sell anytime soon after all the work and aggro you’ve been dealing with!
That is a very good point, and one that is good to keep in mind. I have a home in FL, and receive so many calls every day inquiring if I want to sell my home.
I’ve asked (Out of curiosity) if they are calling from Real Estate Investment Trusts, and about eight times out of 10, they are. I refuse to sell to a REIT, something about just rubs me wrong. I’d rather sell to a family.
Congratulations! Hope all goes well with the process.
Thank you AnnE!
That’s fantastic, good for you.
Thanks Robin!
We shall see how many bumps are in this part of the process…
Sending you 🤗 🤗 and wishes that the rest of the sale process goes smoothly. 🤞At least there are numerous offers in case the first one doesn’t pan out.
Thank you Laila!
Great news about the house, but I know you still have work ahead of you with all the packing. I am sure the entire process has been mentally and physically draining for you. Just take it one day at a time.
Thank you Kris!
I’ve done some packing already, just because of all the home improvement projects. But yeah. So. Much. More. Left.
Wishing you all the best for an easy transaction. Hope Teflon cat provides some calming vibes.
Thanks Aurora! Teflon kitty has NOT been a fan of strangers in her house.
She’s going to hate the move even more.
Working again tonight and it’s snowing. I have never liked Halloween, even as a kid. I do like free candy though, so it was a bit of a conflict. Lol.
My sotd is Prada Candy Night. It seems appropriate.
I loved Halloween as a kid. Costumes AND candy? Couldn’t beat that with a stick.
I’m twins with you; we smell good!
Snow already? I do remember some Halloweens were quite cold but all the recent ones were warm-ish.
Today I’m wearing Memoir Woman, a witchy brew, on my favorite day of the year (I’m also wearing earrings that look like orange moons with little bats in front of them). Happy Halloween everyone!
Yay, holiday earrings! That’s always a sign you take the holiday seriously 🙂
Hi all and happy Halloween! Popping (very late) on for a quick hi/hello!
My SOTD is vintage Magie Noire extrait by Lancome. Always a favorite for tonight. Hope everyone is healthy and enjoying the day!
I was fortunate enough to get a bit of the vintage Magie Noir EdP. It was freaking gorgeous. Bet the extrait is even more so.
I was wafting a little bit! Wish they’d bring back the body products!
Excellent choice!
Thank you! 🙂
Very late today, but I went with CdG again today for the CP. (Zagorsk isn’t geographically in Japan, but Rei Kawakubo is from there…)
Just trying to get through this week. Kid’s costume got done and the pumpkins got carved last night. Kid should have finally gotten her vaccines today, after rescheduling multiple times around various conflicts. Tomorrow is Take Our Kids to Work Day and my kid is finally old enough to go, but of course it’s virtual but I feel like I should take her into an office even though I don’t have any meetings, so we’ll drive an hour out to the HQ. Thursday we fly to my niece’s wedding and my mother-in-law is already being a handful. Sigh.
Good luck surviving the week/wedding!
Happy Halloween 🎃! SOTD is PDC Vampire layered over BBW’s Dark Kiss, my favorite spooky day combo 👻. Strange weather day here: our ‘snow showers’ turned into mini-blizzards, which stopped for a few minutes and turned into blue sky and 🌞, then back to mini-blizzards. So weird!
Back to the World Series, which I’m really enjoying this year ⚾️ Hanging on to every bit of summer despite the snow on the ground outside my window.
