The eighth edition of a poll about transitional fragrances: what are your favorite fragrances as summer turns to fall this year? What scent makes you happy as the nights get chilly and the days take on that crisp edge? And tell us what perfume you wish you owned for chilly weather.
(Or, if you're like me, tell us what fragrances will allow you to hang on to that summer feeling just a little bit longer. And of course, if winter is turning to spring where you are, adjust the questions accordingly.)
Or, as always, talk about something else.

Not much transition going on where I am — it’s Summer Part 2: The Saturating. Yesterday the humidex was a brutal 41°C (105°F) and today it’s well on its way to 36° (97°). And like fools we walked to the mall this morning, about a 40-minute walk, just for the exercise, and were pretty damp by the time we got there.
But anyway! Today I’m in Mugler Aura EDT, which is like an alchemical trick — it’s brilliantly green and fresh while at the same time being warm and sweet and cozy. No idea how that’s even done, but it’s wonderful.
Aura is amazing, you smell wonderful!
Stay cool! Another Aura fan here; your description is great.
I owned Aura at one point; I remember it being really nice.
Omg people, it is a gorgeous GORGEOUS morning here!🌞
Currently 60 degrees with sun, blue skies and a gentle breeze. I have always been a summer person, but this year has been so hot that I am really finding myself leaning into fall. Loving the recent cool nights with the window open. I’ve also been enjoying a cup of stash cinnamon, apple, chamomile tea after dinner each night. Yesterday I stopped into 🎯 and picked up some of the Mrs. Meyers seasonal hand soaps. My daughter liked the Mum scent and I liked the Acorn Spice scent, so we picked up hand soaps of each. We both felt the Fall Leaves really did smell like fall leaves! (and a little bit of dirt lol) and the Apple Cider scent was very realistic and too foodie for my liking.
As for perfumes, I know I mentioned last weekend that I swapped out my perfume tray. It was scorching last weekend, but I knew this fall air was coming! Today I’m in Vanille 44. I love this one. I may need one of the cute 15 ml bottles when my decant is gone.
I am going to try to make it to the Le Labo store this week. I will smell Vanille 44 but more curios of the city scents.
Ooh, do report back! I’m curious about the new Myrrhe.
Hello, all. SOTD will be my new little travel spray of En Passant. Weather is cooler here and not smoky so I am grateful.
But I have to share a horrible experience from yesterday. I was in our local Sephora (a nice neighborhood in Seattle, not downtown) and about to leave when there was suddenly a huge commotion, and several people were running through the store. The SAs were all standing still and looking concerned. There was a big guy blocking the exit. It was one of the gangs you have likely read about – they come in with big bags and run through the store stealing huge amounts of items. (I couldn’t see what they were choosing although I was wondering afterwards if it’s just random or specific stuff.) The manager said afterwards that the police never arrive in time if they come at all (they are stretched very thin). All the SAs apologized to me but I said “no, I’m so sorry this happens to all of you.” They said it was a frequent occurrence. I was OK until after I left to walk home. Then I was so freaked out and scared and crying. And I know several of you work in retail every day. My heart goes out to you – difficult and rude customers, scary encounters, and now gang stealing. It’s just awful.
That’s terrible, Springpansy! I’m so sorry you and those SA’s had to go through that.
Thanks.
I have seen footage online of those flash mob lootings. I feel anxious just watching them! I can’t imagine. I’m so sorry you went through that, and glad you are safe. I hope you can take some downtime this weekend to debrief.🧘🏼
Walking up to “yoga in the park” in a few minutes!
I am not sure where you live, but this happen to me at 2 times in the Upper East side in NYC. Once I was at a “pop up store” and 3 guys came in and just grabbed all the jackets off the racks and were gone in about 3 seconds and the other was at my local Duane Reade. I was by the French company sections buying my Vichy face wash (that is behind plastic and needs a key for a SA) and while it was open a guy walked in and emptied everything, from all the brands. Didn’t even rush. Just piled it into a bag and the SA just stood there and then he left.
The next story is probably the worst of the two. I was on the subway and bumped into a guy and he started yelling at me and it was just a really bad scene..threatening me etc. All up in face and I was saying a word back. When the 6 train stopped I called the cops on, and you know what they did??? They put him on another car on the same subway. So I am commuting along and I see him coming for me between the cars. I mean WTF! 2 guys standing next to me said, don’t worry- we are here-and you need to get off the subway now. And I got off as soon as the door open again and walked the rest of the way to the library.
That’s VERY frightening. ♥
I live in Seattle.
Between your stories and springpansy’s, I think I am glad I live in the Midwest although I know this could happen anywhere.
Ltsg that’s so scary!
I have read in the Bay Area it’s become a real issue – theft and store closures
I am so sorry this happened to you! The Montréal subway used to have individual cars, so if there was something unpleasant in one car you could just get off and switch to another one. Now the new trains are all connected so someone could follow or chase you through the entire train, your only chance would be to jump off in a station. I have thought about this and prayed it never happens.
Threatening you and then coming for you!! That’s horrific! Thank goodness you could get off in time. Some people are just “off”😠
That’s terrible ltsg, so glad you escaped, in my twelve years in NYC nothing ever happened to me in the subway, but fortunately there were two decent human beings to help you.
Scary! So glad that a couple of good folks had your back on that subway ride LTSG.
Oh my goodness. I haven’t heard of that happening up here, but it probably does. And LTSG, that subway story is awful. Up here our subway trains are only 2 cars long and open to each other (we have what I like to call a baby subway, at least the line I ride), so that approach by the police would not work.
You were probably in shock springpansy. That is horrible!
Take some time to relax today.
I’m so sorry that happened springpansy, what a world we live in.
springpansy and lovestosmellgood, my heart goes out to you both. And like you said, sp, I do worry about our friends who work in retail stores. No theft is a victimless crime – and it is normal to be shocked at such a sight. You might want to share your stories directly with a local city or county council representative!
I am so sorry you had to witness that, and for the employees as well. So shocking.
I’m so sorry this happened to you and the store’s staff! It hadn’t occurred to me that anyone would do this at a Sephora or other mid-range store. I thought it was limited to high-end designer boutiques. No wonder retailers just pack up and go, or close. And that NYC subway story — ugh. I used to commute on it, and I was always on edge, on guard, even after years. How awful that the police were no help.
I used to work in retail on and off, and one of the first things they tell you about loss prevention is that you absolutely cannot confront a thief, even if you see it happening with your own eyes. For safety reasons, obvs, but the thieves can actually turn around and sue you for accusing them. They know this, and I think that’s part of the reason why they are getting more brazen. It really su*ks.
I am sorry the posters here went thru what they did.
I am sorry you had to go through that. I hope the weekend treats you much nicer.
It must have been such a shock. And Seattle is not a crime hot spot I think.
I am sorry this happened Springpansy. I despise these people. I will add that it’s important to vote for prosecutors and District Attorneys. People are much more emboldened when they don’t fear prosecution.
Completely agree.
Thanks, everyone, for your commiseration. I didn’t intend to make such a downer post, but I knew that all of you could relate to an everyday outing like stopping in Sephora and the shock of the robbery. It also made me sad – did these girls think this was their only option? Is no one taking a leadership role in their lives to teach values? What’s going to happen next? Etc.
Wow, that would be enough to rattle anybody. Hope that you are feeling better today, springpansy.
There have been a lot of smash and grab incidents in the NJ suburbs where I am at. Thankfully, I haven’t experienced them personally. But the 3 ULTA stores closest to me have all been hit in the past year or so. Very unsettling.
I am in Bond Tribeca
A nice transitional scent
La Danza delle libellule, Omnia, Angel’s Share, Le Lion..a few nice one to welcome the change into fall…
Farmers Market this morning..making sauces thumbing through the journal and if the kids give me a break, I will read a bit of my book.
I don’t remember this scent, LTSG. I did like the Bond line, and the one I bought is Little Italy which I still really like. I have Le Lion lined up for later-still too warm for me to wear right now 🙂
Bond Tribeca has a similar DNA to BR540
I love the shoulder seasons! Every fall I think fall is my favorite, and every spring I think I like spring the best. For now, fall is winning. 🙂 Scents that work well for me in really crisp fall weather are things like L’Ambre des Merveilles, Paracelsus, Indochine, Ambre Narguilé … the warm cozies. Before it gets really cold and crisp, I like “beefier” chypres like Azemour. And I’m rapidly falling in love with Agar Èbene for the dry, sunny-but-coolish conditions here right now. Is there something I wish I owned for the coming chillier weather? Why yes, there is — Indult Rêve en Cuir. Maybe Santa will be good to me. 😉
Glad I grabbed that mini bottle of Paracelsus while the getting was good! The only size Soivohle has of it now is 100mL.
Ye gods — 100 mls of Paracelsus is more than anyone needs!
I think I am ready for fall after 3 weeks of scorching heat. It was unbearable.
I am looking forward wearing my fall scents, when I go back to Montreal, I am planning to wear Guerlain SDV and my new bottle of Voskanian Iris Boisé.
When do you get back? Guerlain Tobacco Honey launch at HRO is Friday 9/15.
Oh no!! I am going to miss that. I will be back end of September.
Let me know when you’re back, I’d love to meet up for sniffing. 🙂
That would be great. I will message you.
Hello all!
I’m in Feu d’Issey today, which I’m scared to say, but I found another bottle of yesterday. Just a freak sighting, but it never feels less surreal. I thought for sure it has a saffron note, but it doesn’t.
I also picked up some 70’s Bellogia, which I think might be the mysterious perfume that inspired the new Heaven Can Wait. Malle was coy about the inspiration, but that clove is unmistakable.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Oh, lucky you! Le Feu d’Issey really is a marvel. (Or was! I bought it when it was launched and loved the hell out of it: I have a few mL left, but ruined and unwearable, sitting in that miraculous bottle, taunting me. Just another reminder that we should enjoy these things while we can, because some day, one way or another, they’ll be gone.)
It is a great fragrance in a fabulous bottle. How lucky that you had it and loved it! I know exactly what you mean: use it while you can.
I love stories of rare vintage finds!
I miss looking around for them. It’s so fun.
Coumarin, do you mean Caron’s Bellodgia? So good 🙂
I think The Perfume Guy on YouTube thought it was Caron’s Poivre-I’m excited to think either Caron could be the genesis of this idea! Years ago I bought 30 ml of Poivre extract. My brother loved it so I gave it all to him. He used some but he still has it-he’s giving it back to me this fall lol. I still have the EDT – Coup de Fouet, which is gorgeous.
I’m looking forward to smelling Heaven Can Wait.
I love Bellodgia!
I’ll admit I’ve never tried Poivre, but it’s entirely possible. I just felt that rush of cloves and jumped to Bellodgia.
Persolaise on youTube love at first scent thinks the inspiration is Poivre too. I’m so pleased about this.
Yes, I saw that!
OMG, I’d kill for that find! I have an old decant of Feu and would love a bottle, but of course it was gone by the time I got into perfume.
It’s crazy how rare it became! I hope you’ll be able to find a bottle one day.
Another bottle! That is amazing.
I am close to being on the same page as Sheri today. I found a good transitional fragrance is Hermes Eau des Merveilles which I am wearing at the moment. I so want to get out my fall/winter perfumes, but is still going to be in the 70’s this week so will wait for a little while.
Eau des Merveilles is lovely
Grey, rainy, much cooler here. Looking forward to dinner with friends tonight at our favorite local brewery. (And to a good long walk on my own when it stops raining — soon, I think.)
I’m commando for now, but one that I love as a transitional scent is original Stella. The roses are for summer, but everything else in it feels like fall to me — a nice depth without being Too Much.
I did not manage to thunk my Cristalle Eau Verte this summer, probably 10 ml left, so it will go into storage until next year. I haven’t done my big seasonal shift yet — probably won’t happen until next weekend.
Oh, good call on original Stella. That was a great spring or fall scent.
I love fall and this time of year when the soybean fields put up seed pods, which turn the crop yellow and tobacco brown, and the trees get that bleachy look before they turn colors. The walnut trees have yellow sprigs and the sumac turns red early.
I like Imaginary Authors Yesterday Haze and Slow Explosions as transition scents, along with Chergui and Nicolai New York.
I’m wearing Cashmere Mist today, which is so pretty. Tonight I’ll switch to Dior Addict.
As to what transition scent I want, it would be the great discontinued Bond 9 New Haarlem. You can still find it on ebay for a small fortune.
Beautiful description of subtly changing landscapes and colors.
I missed fall when I lived in Houston, but the azaleas in the spring helped make up for it 🌸
I turned the oven on to bake something for the first time in months yesterday, I don’t use it in summer because it makes the house too hot. These days of slanted light and cool mornings make me want to wear woods, light leathers, and heavier soliflores. This morning I thunked my Infusion d’Iris Absolue, but I have a BUB. I like it so much more than the regular Infusion.
I miss cooking things in the oven, but I’m like you–it doesn’t make sense when the a/c is struggling. Perhaps I can bake something in another month or two…
I’ve been thinking about baking, too. Sometimes I use the oven down in the clubhouse, but never for very long. That AC has to work hard too!
May I please be forgiven for guffawing at the phrase “chilly nights”?
That’s a wonderful photograph today, Robin!
Do nights in Houston ever get chilly, Calypso?
I’m not Calypso so please pardon my butting in but I lived in Houston for over a decade and feel qualified to answer: there are cool pleasant nights sometimes in December. I also remember celebrating the holidays in shorts and t-shirts, so it just depends.
Yes, as ring thing wrote, we do get some cooler weather, at least at times, between mid-November and March or so. It can be beautiful. A lot of times at either Christmas or Thanksgiving, though, even though it isn’t TOO hot, .e.g., lower 70’s, I still turn on the a/c because it’s still very humid and sticky. And there are tales of the ultra-rich Houstonians in River Oaks turning the a/c way down in the winter so they can enjoy a pretty fire in the fireplace at Christmas. Plus you still can see some of the ladies wearing their furs to the opera when it gets down to 60 outside.
😀
Ha, I do know I am not covering the fall weather everywhere! You may guffaw. Furthermore, we are not having “proper” fall weather here either.
Happy weekend!
My favourite transitional scents are Youth Dew and Shalimar.
What I really wish I have for Fall will be the Shalimar a la Iris. I think it’s coming next month? So excited!
My SOTD is Bitter Peach.
Doesn’t it sound amazing? Hope it comes to town and be sniffable
I am finding a single spritz of a warmer scent is the perfume equivalent of a light cardigan. Today is OJ Muscat.
No. 19 Poudre called to me today, a lovely cloudy day in the 70’s. The NST theme really resonates with me wearing this one! It seems so in harmony with the bright grey sky and the soft cricket sounds. I ran some errands and had a subtle scent bubble as I moved around. It’s not quite Fall, but it is late Summer. No. 19 in any form seems very right to me, right now.
MossyBerry:I love No. 19 Eau poudre. I will wear it tomorrow after it calls down tonight.
You will smell wonderful – I’ve smelled and love vintage No. 19, but stoutly say, Poudre holds its own!
I will wear no 19 Poudre today
I think I’ll join the Poudre crowd today!
Excellent! I’d like to meet the non-perfumista who is out there somewhere, with just two or three perfumes she loves, and her favorite is No. 19 Poudre!
I keep thinking about the bottle of No. 19 Poudree I passed up at the Duty Free store in Denver. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. But I honestly was not at all interested in perfume when I saw it.
The heat wave finally broke and today is lovely. I’m wearing Floral Romantique and dreaming of my upcoming bottle of Tobacco Honey on Friday. Fall scents I’m looking forward to wearing are Tabac Tabou, Ambre Narguile, Praline in Maple, Mitzah and Cuir Ottoman.
They all sound lovely. I wish I was in Montreal for the Tobacco Honey launch. Please let me know what you think.
I got to test it and liked it very much. Lots of honey.
After wearing Chant d’Arômes yesterday morning, later in the day I switched to Scherrer. It was a successful blind buy, and I like it more each time I wear it.
It’s another sunny day, two lovely spring weekends in a row!! We’ll go for a walk after a bit of housework, and I’m contemplating Chamade, another spring/summer favorite.
Scherrer twins with you today!
Today I am wearing La Vie est Belle, the last of my 2 samples. Rain and showers and thunderboomies hear all weekend; good match for my mood.
Thunderboomies–I like that!
Late to the party here. It’s hot, even near the water today.
BUT it’s a dry heat:)
Am finally showered and dressed for a mani pedi then meeting my friend who will check on my casa while I am gone to treat her to dinner. Lots of Deep Dark Vanilla.
I am hoping to see/try Tobacco Honey at airport on way back from Africa.
I was at an Apple store when a group of smash and run people came in, they were so fast that some people didn’t even see it happen. It is upsetting.
I am even later apsara! Hope it was a fun day yesterday.
Cool and cloudy today… what a treat! Went to spin class this morning for the first time in a couple months. I felt so much better afterwards.
Looking forward to Shalimar Iris. I wonder if it will be the same kerfuffle trying to get a bottle as MVP was.
This time of year I think of Tam Dao, Eau de Shalimar, and anything vetiver. Cozy but nothing too heavy. I wish I owned Sycomore.
I would take a bottle of Sycomore too 🙂
I loved wearing Safran Troublant so much yesterday that it was my SotD today as well.
After that wore off, I sampled two new ones, Profumum Vir and Kerosense Follow. Vir was warm with tobacco and out, but there was just something in it that really bothered me. I think it was the cannabis note. Next up was a complete scrubber, Kerosense Follow. I know many people love it, but it was just all kinds of wrong on me. Too sweet. And it dried down to a weird burnt-down candle note. Had to go through two rounds of scrubbing to get it off, lol!
I can’t wait for fall! It’s always been my favorite season, and with the warming climate, I just get through summer as best I can, mostly by staying inside. We have so few nice, summer days now. Ugh. I’m going to be putting out my bottles of L’eau d’Ambre, Vetiver Oriental, Scherrer (thanks for the reminder, gaynor!) and d L’Ombre des Merveilles, for starters.
LOL—Follow a scrubber! Figures then that it was so hard to get it off, right?
There must be someplace on earth where the climate is more pleasant than it used to be? But I don’t know where that is.
Yes, it was a case of Murphy’s Perfume Law in action!
Tried Deep Dark Vanilla today..very woody vanilla but it did not wow me. Pistachio is the only one I find FBW from this line.
Now I am trying Pink Boa 😉 🐍 which is a sweet, fruity w/ citrus so far. There was a snake our on front door mat when Mr. She-ra came home late from work last night. Not a rattlesnake but probably a San Diego gopher snake….looks just like some of them pics in the link below. He went back to his car for a minute and it was gone when he returned. He didn’t understand how it disappeared so quickly. ehaeheh Snakes have been around for millennia I reminded him…it was not going to stick around to see if this human meant harm.

Scents of Wood has their 2024 subscription up on their website. I have no affiliation and haven’t done their previous subscriptions but do have several travel sprays a couple FBs from this house. Some of the scents coming up look quite good so I debating as one does. 😅
I was unwowed by Deep Dark Vanilla as well. What did you think of Maison Mataha Escapade Gourmande? I’m trying it today, it smells like a sweet floral vanilla on me.
As for the Scents of Wood subscription, I decided to give it a go this year, partly because I really wanted the Vanilla in Armagnac. :-). I’m hoping being a subscriber will allow us a discount on full bottles or at least early access.
I was underwhelmed by Escapade Gourmande. Lots of reviews on Fragrantica think it’s similar to Fire At Will but I think it actually smells closer to good old CSP Vanille Extreme.
Yes, Vanilla in Armagnac sounds good and so do a few others. 🙂
What did you think of Akro Bake?
I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, a sample is waiting for me in San Diego.
If *you* are not wowed by a vanilla, I will move that one to the bottom of my to try list! Snakes! Worthy of caution, but I’m convinced they are always more scared of us than we are of them…
I’m not convinced. Lol
I was in Tears of Iris today. Doesn’t last long, but I don’t mind respraying.
Transitional fragrances:
ELDO Remarkable People
Serge Lutens Clair de Musc
L’Artisan Mure et Musc
Hermes Galop
Hermes Voyage
PdE Le Cri
Yikes! Le Cri is calling to me right now. Will wear tomorrow….❤️
Happy weekend, friends!
I’ve been thinking about le Cri as well. Love Tears of Iris!
No 19 Poudre
I finally heard from the Riad I stayed in, in Marrakech, everyone the staff and their families are all safe. When I saw the news I reached out to them immediately. I left a piece of my heart in Morocco.
I am going to try to go to another farmers market today after hearing from a friend that she buys her yogurt there. ItItss on the west side but I will make the journeying across town for good yogurt.
I meant to reply to your comment! It’s my comment underneath🙂
I partook in an earthquake simulation when I was in Tokyo. I experienced similar magnitudes to what happened in Marrakech. Truly horrifying. Everything fell and moved; it was very difficult to just try stay hidden under a table, and my arms and neck felt like jelly wobbling to the movement of the floor beneath me. I could only imagine how bad it must be being in Marrakech. I hope they recover quickly from this.❤️
Wow! That sounds like something I wouldn’t want to experience, even in simulation form
Testing out Escapade Gourmande by Maison Mataha. It’s a pleasant floral vanilla but it’s $215 and I have so many vanillas already, so I’m thinking not. Will wear PdE Tabac Tabou after my shower. Nice rainy cool morning here.
I’m continuing last week’s CP with the most saffron-forward scent I have — IA Slow Explosions.
As for transitional scents, I tend to like ELdO Like This, as well as Arielle Shoshanna Sunday. Also Fat Electrician (the vanilla is balanced out by the vetiver, so not a straight up winter scent) and La Curie Ossuary. Oh, and Azemour, but then, that’s pretty much good in any season. 🙂
Has anyone smelled AS Monday? I should probably get a sample.
PSA: Ulta has the following on sale for half price, today (Sunday 10th) only:
Philosophy Amazing Grace 2oz, $27
Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere 2 Oz, $25
Coach Dreams Sunset nevermind, sold out. The Coach was the only online only item, the Philosophy scents are in store and online.
SOTD: Byredo Gypsy Water. Our weather is gorgeous today. I have always loved the fall.
I didn’t post any transition scent thoughts earlier so here are mine now:
– Eris Mx. is a great one (no surprise to hear that from me, I’m sure)
– Parle Moi de Parfum Milky Musk and Papyrus Oud
– SL Chergui is perfect!
– FM Iris Poudre for no particular reason other than it’s lovely
Yes, Chergui is perfect.
I forgot about Chergui, that is perfect. How are you doing after your traumatic experience? I hope you were able to get some restorative rest.
Thanks, ringthing. I feel a bit better, but definitely less safe. Even in my house.
A cool, rainy Sunday here. The passing thunderstorms did no damage in these parts, but brought the temperatures down. And a nice relief it is!
I am one with the wet, still-green leaves in Synthetic Jungle. Im surprised by how much I like this one, once I get over the initial shock of the in-yo-face galbanum. The galbanum never goes away, but thankfully, it calms down quickly and becomes softer. Oakmoss is definitely present. No wonder I love it! I’m
Ignore the typo. 😒
Lots of thunderstorms here yesterday, but not much relief from the heat here. That comes later on this week.
Sorry to hear that! Our humidity is supposed to drop by the end of the week, too.
Jardins de Bagatelle today, OG bottle, edt, and so, vintage-ish. It seems somewhat transitional, but I just wanted to wear it again. Perfect Midwestern weather here today: sunny, lingering cool breezes, and 78F high. I made oven-broiled shish kebobs today, so I had to open up the house or get smoked out! *Note to self and to all* check smoke detectors! I was concerned that one of them did not go off – it seemed a bit too smokey to get a “pass,” even with open windows and various fans.
Hi MossyBerry, I thought I responded to you but my comment posted separately, see below.
Perfect weather twins! And my husband set off the smoke alarm cooking sausage for breakfast.
Le Cri for me today. It’s a gorgeous day out there…very low humidity and 96 degrees. I know that doesn’t sound particularly great, but it is delightful for Houston.
I worked out, and since I wasn’t done with the endorphin flow, I walked across the street on the church grounds.
A work out and a walk!?… I’m exhausted just reading the post! Lol.
If it’s 96 here the humidity is always high. Low humidity really does make all the difference.
It’s almost always high humidity here too, when it’s 96. I’m sure you walk a lot with your job, right? You probably get a lot more exercise than I do!
The longest heat wave of the year in my area has finally broken. But you wouldn’t know it by stepping outside. It’s so muggy that it feels just as hot as it did yesterday.
Picked up loads of goodies at a farmers market and a farm stand earlier this afternoon. I will have to find out where those are in Colorado…
Some sad news from Mr. Jalapeno. His Mom had another fall and now has a compression fracture in one of her vertebrae. There’s the possibility that she will be going into hospice care after the hospital. So I might be taking a trip out to Colorado to see her one last time in the near future.
SOTD = Safran Troublant, from the Sample Stash, and Dame Gardenia body butter on my shins. They work surprisingly well together, and I have enjoyed the wafts I’ve been getting.
Forgot to mention that a perfume I would like to get for chilly weather is JM Myrrh and Tonka. I thunked a sample of that from hajusuuri in record time.
That’s definitely on for the cold!
I’m sorry about Mr. Jalapenos Mom. This has been such a rough year for you.
Thanks lillyjo. 2023 is not on my list of favorite years, that’s for sure.
Sorry to hear that; I hope she recovers. But hospice workers are generally wonderful, if it comes to that.
Mr. J’s Mom has been in poor health for a while now. The last time I saw her (back in 2021), she was incredibly frail. And things have continued to deteriorate since then.
I’m sorry your weather has been miserable for so long. That kind of discomfort just makes everything worse. Hope you can see her again.
JM Myrrh and Tonka is great, I’m enjoying my decant.
Compared to what some other folks have experienced this summer, a week long heat wave is NBD. The humidity is definitely cramping my style, though.
We shall see what the next few weeks brings…
Oh, no. 😔 What a hard time you’ve had. Sending more hugs!
So sorry to hear all of that, Jalapeno.
I’m so sorry to hear about Mr. Jalapeno’s mom. I’m hoping for more positive news for you in the last quarter of the year.
The Renegade Craft Fair was in Chicago this weekend, and I went both days! Just got back from my second outing and I’m exhausted; I think I walked about 5 miles at least. I miss the good old days when it was more amateurish and cheaper–no bargains to be had anymore, but I still bought a bunch of stuff! So fun. I remember seeing an Imaginary Authors booth at least once before, but they weren’t there this year. Other perfumes on offer were mostly scented oils and rollerballs. I got a scented candle in a vintage drinking glass that I liked, and some bath bombs and bath salts.
I wore Omnia today, which I blind-bought a while ago, but I can barely smell it! I applied heavily today and it was still really faint on me, or to my nose at least. It will be going on my swap list.
Gonna read the rest of the comments now 😊
I couldn’t smell much with the original Omnia, either.
