Saturday is National Iced Tea Day and Sunday is is King Kamehameha I Day. We're marking all the occasions with our usual open thread poll.
Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, your favorite iced tea (or tea fragrance), the last fragrance you sampled, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…

I’m in the market for a tea perfume, sometime. Mr ringthing is an iced tea fiend, he likes to combine lots of fruity teas, then adds stevia and sparkling water to taste.
I’m wearing Harvest Mouse from a sample, liking it more and more.
I hit a new low weight this morning. It’s coming off by the ounce so it’s going super slow but I’m still heading in the right direction.
That’s great 🙂 congrats on the initial progress!
Not initial, sadly, I’ve been working a year to lose 80 lbs, I’m at 50 down so far. Doing it slowly feels like the best option for keeping it off.
Wow, that’s amazing, good for you!
Congratulations, 50 is a whole lot! I wonder if you have heard the story of Patches the cat, who has been in the news lately. He was over 40 pounds and was adopted by a woman who promised to work on helping him lose weight, and said she wanted to work alongside him to lose weight. It’s imperative, the vet told her, to keep him on a very slow but steady track, because it’s dangerous to lose too much too fast. He’s an adorable chonky cat, and is making progress! Almost five pounds now. https://people.com/pets/patches-40-pound-rescue-cat-happy-after-adoption-facebook-page/
Wow!! Congratulations on that!! 50 lbs is a lot!!
It’s impressive.
Congratulations on your continuing success! <3
So glad that you are meeting your goals and moving in the direction that is right for you!
50 in a year is just amazing, go ringthing!
For me, L’Artisan’s The Pour Une Ete is the perfect iced tea perfume. Doesn’t last forever but not it’s so refreshing!
I thunked a decant of it years ago, it’s great stuff!
I like both Assam of India and Dear Polly in the tea scent category, but I think my favorite of all time was L ‘Occitane’s original The Vert green tea. I went through the body milk and a bottle of the edt one summer. That was back when I had monogamous relationships with perfume.😉
Interesting because I don’t register tea with Assam. On my skin it’s all citrus and sandalwood.
Congrats to you! Slow and steady wins the race! 💪🏼
Good for you on your weight loss!
Congratulations, ringthing! That’s fabulous. I am in awe of your tenacity.
Have you ever tried Angelos Creations fragrances? He makes a wonderful one called Salon dt. (Salon de thé.) It’s my favorite for sure.
Harvest Mouse smells exactly like Vangelis by Delacourte to me!
Yay for you!
Seconding the Dear Polly suggestion. 🫖
that is great work! you didn’t put it on overnight, and it won’t come off overnight. slow and steady wins the race.
I lost 100 pounds over the course of one year when I turned 40.
Wow! That’s impressive! I lost 88 lbs in 2005, then gained it all back.
Congrats on reaching that new lowest weight! Dropping 50 lbs is quite the accomplishment.
I’m continuing my investigation of Ganymede this morning. So far it’s very interesting and unique. From the comments on fragrantica, this is a love-it-or-hate-it thing, completely unsuitable for blind-buying, but when it works it really works. On me it creates a bubble of scent reminiscent of freshly steam-ironed linens resting next to a pile of leather gloves, with something else that I can’t quite identify. I did buy it blind, and I guess I’m one of the lucky ones for whom it works. Another warning from nearly everyone on fragrantica which I will echo: do not go big with this one — one spray is plenty.
I love it and have been wearing it for two years now. To me it smells like Aramis New West for Women which I wore decades ago when it was first released and is now impossible to find
Oh, I bet that was great — looked it up, see that the notes are similar to Ganymede’s, and find there are a few bottles out there but for Absolutely Ridiculous prices.
The prices are insane which is why Ganymede is a great substitute for me!
Methinks it is cumin. I have a blind buy bottle myself.
Interesting. I don’t get cumin exactly … was wondering if it might be saffron. That’s a note I’m not very conversant with.
Ooh, or the immortelle — another note that I haven’t encountered a lot.
Immortelle is like maple syrup.
Not immortelle then — Ganymede has almost no sweetness at all. Saffron then?
Immortelle is tricky… sometimes it’s maple syrup and sometimes it’s cumin! I’ve worked with the essential oil so I have experienced both!
The something-something that I can’t quite identify is a bit like cumin, but not quite what I’ve experienced of it in other fragrances (notably Gucci EDP). I probably need to seek out both saffron and immortelle in other perfumes to zero in on how they tend to read on my skin. Fun!
Or go straight for immortelle essential oil and see how it reads on your skin.
I’ve noticed that saffron can have a metallic aspect to it in perfume. Are you getting anything along those lines?
Yes! There’s a sort of “machinery” aspect to it — saffron, you say? Interesting!
I’m unscented this morning, because my husband and I are up in the middle of nowhere to celebrate our eleventh anniversary of dating, and it seems too disconcerting to perfume myself while surrounded by so many interesting smells. We look forward to hiking, drinking sparkling mead, eating piles and piles of oysters (we got a jump on this one last night), and going on a bioluminescent nighttime kayaking trip this weekend!
What a great trip! Enjoy the anniversary, the oysters and the kayaking.
Everything sounds like so much fun, enjoy.
Sounds wonderful! Have a great time!
Happy Anniversary! That kayaking sounds so fun.
That sounds wonderful. Enjoy!!
🥂 have a great time
I’m completely envious — have a wonderful time!
You guys are so cute! Enjoy your anniversary!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend! Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary!!!
Happy Anniversary! What a wonderful adventure to celebrate with. Have fun!
Happy anniversary! Sounds like you’re in my hood…
Glad you can get away and do so many fun things with your DH!!
Sounds like fun, happy anniversary!
Aw, you two are still honeymooning! Happy Anniversary!
The stretch of cool/cold, grey weather continues, so obviously I decided to wear warm, beachy Guerlain Terracotta Voile d’Ete. I love everything about it.
I’ll try and send you some of my sun.🌞
Hello all!
I’m working an estate sale this weekend, this fabulous almost-100-year-old house in the middle of a very old and historical neighborhood. It’s a wonderful house with a barely-working AC.
I wore Heritage Collection Colony today since the original was made in the 30’s, same as the house. I swoon every time I wear this one! I love the pineapple and leather.
Have a great day everyone!
That sounds fun AND interesting! I just love old houses. So much character.
I’ve been watching an Insta account on estate sales and vintage garden markets in the US and I’m gobsmacked at all the treasures at most of the places she visits!Have fun!
That sounds like fun! I used to tag along to estate sales with a friend of mine and her hubs, but they eventually filled their home with stuff, so they don’t go as much anymore. 😢
I’m in Carnal Flower from my new bottle. Had no takers on the split, so if anyone is ever interested in a decant swap, just let me know. I’ll never go through 50 mls of this stuff!
I was up early and met my friend for the Susan g Komen more than pink walk for the cure.💕 The walk didn’t start until almost 9:30 and by then it was pretty hot. Wish it would have started earlier, but I stayed hydrated. Better than rain, which is what they had last year.
We’ve got our air back on, but it will be short lived. A cold front is coming through tomorrow and we will be in the 60’s. Sounds nice. I don’t mind long sleeves in the summertime at all.
You smell lovely! When my sample runs out I may take you up on your swap.
Thanks! Yes, please do!
Love Carnal Flower. I may be interested in a decant, but do not remember what your prices were. I think you may have my email.
Thank you for doing the walk. I had breast cancer 24 years ago. Luckily, it was at an early stage, but I had a bilateral mastectomy and implants done. A lot of surgeries.
Another breast cancer survivor here — glad you are here with us, Kris, and yes, thank you, MTG.
I am also a breast cancer survivor. Thank you from me too.
I am so glad to read that you caught it early Kris! My family- knock on wood- has been very fortunate. No breast cancer on either my maternal or paternal side of the family, although other kinds of cancers.
I will email you.
One of my favorite cousins had breast cancer. She’s a survivor. I’m thanking you for doing the walk, madtowngirl.
Propers to all the NSTers who are survivors!
Wearing boat loads of Eau Premiere today. The 1st version of no 5 that I understood and loved.
You smell lovely
Smelling good.
Me too
Same for me.
Today is my oldest 🎹 piano recital- she picked my dress and my perfume which is Love Extreme.
Tea this morning was Marco Polo
Thanks everyone who gave me their book that has knocked ( or almost) knocked their socks off 🧦 📚
Aww, that’s sweet. Good luck to her!
Which book is knocking your socks off?
None. I am in a reading slump. I am reading a lot of books but none of them particularly good
How sweet to have your daughter as your stylist!
Honestly — I was bowled over by the the first volume of Knausgaard’s My Struggle. I resisted it for a very long time — I tend to avoid hyped novels, especially if they are “serious” literature, because I am so routinely disappointed. This one was spectacular to the point where I started having trouble distinguishing between the world of the novel and my own so-called reality. I have not read the rest of the series because I I suspect I will simply read to the exclusion of all else, and I cannot do that right now.
I haven’t heard of this. What the premise?
It is a multi-volume novel-autobiography by the Norwegian writer Karl Ove Knausgaard. It is not brand-new. He has published some essays (and maybe also excerpts of fiction?) in the New Yorker over the years. I had read one NYer essay around the time My Struggle was appearing in English, and I was put off. Then a friend whose recommendations pretty much always work for me endorsed My Struggle enthusiastically, and I decided to read the first volume. I have rarely felt a work *in my skin* the way I did this one. To me, it was magical.
Here’s an article about the author:
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/11/knausgaard-devours-himself/570847/
Thank you.
Sounds interesting.
I will take a look at this article
Still deciding what I want to wear today, but this past week I’ve worn a wonderfully wide variety thanks to generous NST friends: Osmanthe Yunnan, Dune, Iris Torrefie, Baby Cat and Eau de Gaga to name a few. Fragrance is just so fun.
It really is. Have your worn Dune before?
No, I have not worn it before. Very interesting.
Dune is a strange one, for sure.
*you*
Fragrance is fun!Eau de Gaga is so well done! And Babycat was a surprise “lovelove!!” for me.
Happy weekend!
XO
Thanks, JB, same to you!
Which was your favorite?
Iris Torrefie by Guerlain. Beautiful!
Still dithering about scent of the day, but I’m leaning towards Shalimar Tonka.
The rain continues here, nice and slow so hopefully we’ll have minimal run off. Spent the day yesterday tearing apart and then putting back together the entire camper. I think I’ve almost got it dialed in.🙃
Hope everyone has a spectacular weekend and those in bad situations have at least a weekends worth of reprieve.
Love Shalimar Tonka
Wearing the last thing I sampled, and then received an entire bottle of from a wonderful NSTer, which is Ferre. I absolutely love it 💕
Ferre is BEAUTIFUL!(And some say the Mother of Iris Poudre)
I would agree with that. There are definitely similarities.
You smell lovely💕
Thanks my dear 😉
🤩 love Iris and Ferre
Me too😊
I love Ferre, and I do find similarities to IP. Like cousins. I bought mine at Winners years ago-I felt bad for it, because it languished there for so long.
Perfume people are the best, aren’t they-how kind of someone to share 🙂 You smell great!
Thank you Carole. This person has been a wonderful giver of different scents. I am eternally grateful.
Another Ferre fan here – it’s a standout among the commercial designer scents!
It’s very nice.
I’m just wondering how I don’t know about this fragrance!?
Maybe because it is discontinued? I wasn’t familiar with it either.
Happy Saturday!
20:12 pm and I am CRASHING!Day spent with the painting crew, the ceilings/cornices are all done.In two weeks’ time we’re painting the walls of the entire apartment, plus inside doors/skirtings and my iron balustrade on the balcony.Color of the walls will be “mushroom”,neutral without being too boring(or too beige…lol.)
I renewed my lease and plan to stay here for the forseeable future, even though I would love a little bit more space, this apartment and me just “get along”,you know?
SOTD was Putain de Palaces,I basically blind-grabbed this morning, but I’m glad I did.
I’ll be lights out before 9pm probably.
Favorite ice tea?Well Rooibos of course, with lemon and honey, maybe a strawberry or two for prettiness in a pitcher.
XO’s✌🏻🌹
Moving is so stressful–I too would rather paint than move!
Was it you who mentioned Iris Shot recently? Is it one of your fave irises? Have never tried anything from Olfactive, but since it’s a Ropion, might be inclined to give it a “shot.” 😉
I won’t say it’s in my Top 10 of Iris perfumes, but definitely interesting! The cardamom and cassis combination was a challenge for me,but if you like a dense carroty-iris perfume give it a “shot”!😉✌🏻
Galbanumgal – I have Iris Shot and Violet Shot; I prefer the latter. I also have 4160 Tuesdays Complicated Shadows, a beautiful iris. If interested, please send me an email and I will send you samples of each!
Appreciate the offer, h–very generous of you.
I do love strawberry with rooibos. 🙂
Living Grace by Philosophy which I bought because it was supposed to be a dupe of Gap Heaven according to fragrantica… it isn’t (just like Marc Jacobs Rain isn’t which I also have). It’s still lovely, nonetheless.
Glad you like it even if it isn’t what you hoped!
I’m at work today, and have the place to myself so I’m in a couple of sprays of Mon Parfum Cherie, par Camille, in the beautiful deep red bottle. It’s potent and beautiful and deep. And I must be out of my mind because instead of it being a powerhouse I find it stays very close to the skin.
Hope everyone’s weekend is good 🙂
Smoothie is mandarins and yogurt
Spent the day in Rosine Majalis, cinnamon and rose, my favorite Rosine but tonight I’ve applied Sahara Noir to my sleeve, it’s very potent so I use a hopefully judicious application.
So sorry Carole, somehow my comment ended up as a reply to you.
I rarely see people wearing MPCPC these days.
I think there’s an interview with the author on the BBC Bookclub podcasts, which I get through Apple, in case you’re interested. It’s a beautiful interview-I really like that podcast. Introduces me to all kinds of different authors.
oh no-meant to reply to you, Aurora, and accidentally posted here, when the comment has to do with the Norwegian book review-I need more coffee 🙂 And maybe a nap, even tho I just got up. Apologies!
I walked a ton yesterday so now my hips and knees are protesting, and I have a blister on my foot from shoes that are fully broken in. I may take a long, hot bath later. I’m wearing Sunset Hour, an uncomplicated fruity floral.
No luck yesterday reducing my internet bill. Spectrum loses a customer. Fortunately there is another ISP in the area, and their introductory rates are good.
Ouch! Hope the bath helps.
Internet access should be cheaper than it is.
Wearing La Curie Ossuary; it feels right on a cloudy day. We finally had some rain yesterday and a bit more today. It feels nice to cool things down a bit.
Still working on the floors but it’s down to the closet areas. We even put most of the baseboards back up yesterday. And I even did some laundry. What you don’t miss until it’s (temporarily) gone!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Great progress! Sounds like you can see the end of the tunnel. 🔅
Thank you! It seems like a slow go lately but lots of finicky things to do. Tunnel is brightening up!
You smell so good and irissy😊
In Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt and enjoying the spicy sandalwood on a cool PNW day.
That’s a gorgeous fragrance!! Once my elderly mother sniffed it on me she “borrowed “ my bottle.
I had smelled it before but didn’t fully appreciate it until I was a lucky swap recipient😊
Another one that’s been on my list forever. I might have to stop somewhere and sample it. Or not. 😁 All my discretionary $ seems to have disappeared down the rabbit hole lately.
It’s truly a mystery where that discretionary money goes and how fast! 🙃
Isn’t it, though? 🫤
My SOTD is Sexual Healing by Art Meets Art, from a set I just received from a generous NST’er. Thank you! It is a smooth tobacco honey scent. Since I’m a huge Marvin Gaye fan, I was hoping for some more heat to it, more piquancy perhaps? But it’s quite pleasant. I also am trying Lilac Wine from the same set. So far it’s mostly lavender. Imagine my surprise when I looked up the notes and found there is no lilac in it! Kind of false advertising if you ask me.
My cold or whatever is really knocking me out and I have just no energy. I did make a nice dinner last night, trying out a new recipe for a chicken stir fry with mushrooms and other veggies. I’m glad now because I’ll have a few meals’ worth of leftovers.
After watching about 7 total hours of news yesterday I really could use a good show to binge-watch. Any suggestions? Preferably something that will hold my attention like a good thriller!
We are watching Silo on Apple TV with is a sci-fi thriller.
I binged the then existing episodes of Silo a few weeks ago recovering from a medical thing. I found what was good about it really good— the mystery at its root, the premise (sort of the same, I know), and the world-building of the underground universe. I definitely plan to watch the rest of the episodes at some time. I just wish the characters weren’t so two-dimensional/stereotypical. I never understand how someone can sink so much money into special effects and set design and developing a concept, and then inhabit their story with the most cookie cutter personalities from 1970s dramas and cop shows. But what do I know!?! 🤔
😂
Well said
Last week the cable station TNT started showing a British sci fi thriller series called The Lazarus Project. Watched the 1st episode, and will continue–looks intriguing so far.
Mindless fun – Never Have I Ever … on Netflix
This sounds like just what I need. Thanks!
The storm has passed here, and now the sun is coming out. Hurrah! On a whim, I picked up my bottle of Habanita today. I always forget what a powder bomb this one is. Next up: KM Canyon Dreams.
Wishing everyone a restful Sunday!
Yes, powder bomb but you smell great.
Thank you!
I’m drinking the leftover Earl Grey tea I had this morning over ice, so I guess I’m observing Iced Tea Day?
Got up this morning, did my leg workout and went to a Pointilism painting class. It was interesting. It was absorbing, but not something I’d want to do on a regular basis. Mainly, I just don’t need another hobby! 😆
I’m in Voyage d’Hermes today. Love this one! Hoping everyone is having a fun weekend.
That’s a good one. And the bottle design is so unique
I love the design too, but being a klutz, it’s a little hard for me to spray. I applied six sprays twice yesterday, so it must not be that bad though!
Voyage is a favorite cardamom, you smell elegant.
Thanks, Aurora. I remember trying it in Sephora and realizing right away that it was love. ❤️
In Jasmine de Nuit by TDC. I really like this one although there’s not much jasmine.
Did a NYT tuna kimchi recipe for lunch and there’s no other way one should eat canned tuna. Delicious!
JdN is lovely but I know what you mean about missing a bigger dose of jasmine.
My husband would agree, but he’d skip the tuna 😂
Biscuit and I finally got the last of our summer veggies in the ground today — it’s super late in the year, but it’s been so unseasonably cold that maybe it’ll all work out? Enjoying some sun today, though. We’ve been lying in the grass, eating popsicles, and listening to Dick Dale.
Somehow only Terracotta would do today, but both of my decants are absolutely nowhere to be found. I did find my Lys Mediterranée, though, and that also felt suitable for a sunshine-on-bare-skin day.
Yay for gardening with your Biscuit! I planted my tomato seedlings (which had true leaves) almost three weeks ago, and they are just now starting to stand up and grow. Same with cukes and okra. I had a few bigger commercial tomatoes that did not lag as much. But if you’re Zone 6, June is not too late most years.
We’re Zone 9b, and often have killing frost up until mid-May, so I’m only a few weeks behind. We did get the tomatoes in a couple of weeks ago; today was corn, cucumbers, summer squashes (big starts, so we’re well on our way with those), and a whole bunch of salad greens to replace a crop that was, er, desecrated by a skunk event last week.
My happy time of the year is when I can just wander outside with a colander and find out what’s for dinner!
I am no expert, but I am surprised 9b would have such late frosts. Anyhoo, sorry about that skunk attack, and yes – I love taking a colander out to my garden when dinner time approaches.
Commando most of the day, then I decided I’d do a random grab from my travel spray box. It was Opus VII – a smokey, oudy, heavy hitter that was also, come to think of it, a random pick for last year’s PurplLux Subscription. It fits the theme of smokey air and weird sunsets. I would need to wear this several times before I could say whether I liked it or not. Right now, it is wearing me and goes right to my head wanting to be understood.
If it’s smokey air and weird sunsets, it is probably not something I am ready for just yet! Boy is it nice to go outside and not get a headache.
Last night’s concert was fantastic – all chamber music and really extraordinary musicians, including a cellist who was part of the Tokyo string Quartet when they still existed. The concert hall was only about 100 seats, so very intimate – we could see the musicians, and they could see us. I did wear Iris Poudré end it was perfect.
This morning, Mr. Skal and I met up with some old friends and the new baby in their family. This afternoon, I volunteered at our area Pride festival. Looking forward to a relaxing evening. Commando ATM, except for traces of my Jergens coconut body lotion, which really does not linger. It is warming up again here, so it may be time to go back to Cristalle Eau Verte.
That sounds like a wonderful evening, and also the perfect fragrance for it! I love Iris Poudré but don’t wear it very often because it feels so elegant and I usually feel so scruffy.
SOTD = Lush American Cream
I copied Aurora’s SOTD from yesterday. It is quite nice and I really should wear it more often – and it is guaranteed not to offend anyone.
I got to thinking that my 8 sprays from a 30 mL Lush bottle did not quite dispense my usual “8 sprays” worth as compared with wearing it from a 100 mL or even a 50 mL bottle. I used to think it simply a matter of the atomizer on the bottle. What do you think? I may end up using more sprays than my usual 8 (WFH) or 3-4 when going into the office (except for some where I need to be wearing the 8 sprays).
As a light dabber, that is something that has literally never occurred to me! If I ever work up to 8 sprays I will give it some thought 😉
I wore Dilletante today, and it still lingers on the back of my hands. We bought our little travel trailer today, and now I will be putting things in it and getting ready to head off to Wyoming next weekend. Lots to do in a short time! Any travel trailer tricks and tips gratefully considered. I want what we need, but not much else, but I am a habitual overpacked, so I have warring impulses and basically 6 days to do it, since a couple of days are taken up with medical appts. and other things….so much fun, tho!
Have tons of fun in Wyoming! If you’re a history buff and will be anywhere near Guernsey, make a point to see the Guernsey Ruts and Register Rock. They are fairly close to one another and to me, very awe inspiring. It was just me, T-Rex and some deer when I was there and I’ll never forget it. There are tons of amazing place’s to visit in Wyoming, so it will pay off to do a bit of research and plan a route depending on how much time you have. Also, great Native American places/museums/sites. I especially enjoyed driving to remote battlefields where the peaceful undulating hill have stories to tell, most of them frightful.
As for packing, take what you think you’ll need and then halve it. All you really need is food, warm clothing, empty grey and black tanks and a full fresh tank. Will you be boon-docking or staying in campgrounds? If you are staying in developed campsite, I hope you have reservations! Boon-docking offers the best privacy and chance of spotting wildlife, but your rig has to be set up for it. Have a great trip!
Thanks for the good advice, Deva. We are going for ten days, and when we get there we will be at my sister’s place. She bought it from someone who put in a trailer pad, so we will being doing the opposite of roughing it, mostly. I am so exited!
In Orange Sanguine today, five sprays. 🍊
I hope every has a restful Sunday. 🤗
That one has such a great opening. So juicy! 😋🍊
Jo by Jo loves…sunshine in a bottle!Juicy citrus-woody.If you love a orange-colored citrus-fest do try this one out.#HolyGrailFiles.
Happy Sunday!
If you have time, how does Jo compare to Orange Sanguine?
Ohhhh they are on par with each other.I enjoy and own Orange Sanguine as well, the Jo somehow sparkles more and feels more wearable to me.I feel there is room for both in a collection.
Thanks for the info, J B! Sounds like I need to scare up a sample of that one. The other orange forward fragrance I love is Shay & Blue Blood Oranges. It is very juicy with a little musk in the drydown. ❤️
I have a full day of writing (for a client, not interesting) ahead of me so naturally I am preparing by reading NST and thinking about perfume. Yesterday I discovered Dusita’s Melodie de l’Amour, a jasmine and floral bomb tempered with something anamalic— a blend I fall head over heels for and then rarely muster the vavavoom to actually wear. So there I was looking mournfully at the little dabber vile and knowing I should just “walk on by” when I remembered I already own a near dupe, Fueguia 1833’s Amalia (just the straight up Amalia. There are others by the same house with the word “Amalia” in the name that are completely different—not remotely flankers). So this morning I am wearing the Dusita on my right wrist and the Fueguia on my left. Slightly prefer the Fueguia. When worn wrist to wrist, I detect a hint of mothball in the Dusita that isn’t necessary.
In other news. Had a very fun evening last night in SF listening to sea shanties and eating too much fish at a small fundraiser for a cooking school that works with at-risk youth. Joy was tempered by a call from my son who is/was driving to Houston. His car hit a tire that was on the highway. He didn’t see it until it was too late. Smashed in the front and stranded him in Texarkana. It will be complicated getting the car sorted and he starts an internship on Monday. But he was okay and I am very very very grateful for that.
👍🏻for sea shanties! I took my mom on a tourist boat ride around Boston Harbor once, and we were regaled by “sailors” singing. If truth be told, I enjoyed it!
So sorry to hear about your son’s accident and glad he’s okay. 🤗
Glad your son is OK!
It’s unfortunate that your son was in a car accident, but a Good Thing that he is not hurt.
That’s very unnerving for both of you!! Glad he’s okay
I’m glad your son is okay! Hopefully he has it sorted out by now.
So glad it was not worse, gosh. Hope he is back on his way soon.
I’ll be zipping up north of Seattle today for a couple of appointments on Monday and Tuesday. Then, zipping down to Portland to hang out with friends from North Carolina who are there visiting kids and grandkids. Can’t wait to see them, it’s been 3 long years! They’re like family, only better because we chose each other instead of being foisted upon each other. I’ll mooch dock there for a couple of day and then head back for my last two weeks of this contract.
Looking for a scent that is benign today. My sinuses are bothering me and I’m constantly sniff, sniff, sniffing- to the point I’m annoying myself. 🤧
So I went with SL Un Bois Vanille, a long time love of mine.
Sunday are the best days!
You smell wonderful – I finally tried UBV last year. “Mooch dock” made me *snort.*
12 hours sleep. mmmmmmmm
Was on phone with my sissy for five hours last night planning our days in Nairobi part of our upcoming trip.
Started my weight loss for trip last Sunday and this mornings weigh in was 2.2 pounds lost. 13 more to go.
big adventure for today is going to nose piercing studio to have nose checked and see if time for them to shorten the post.
then home to laundry and house tidying before the work week starts again. I started this project with 13 pay periods to Africa, now at 7 more to go. Don’t think I will be coming back to this project. The clients don’t even try to be nice.
SOTD will be Tea for Two or Passage d’Enfer.
Congrats on the weight loss! You must be counting the days to your trip 🙂
First warm day in quite a while here. Time to break out the Eau des Merveilles!
Heading out to a local pond for a walking loop; it’s in an urban area, so it’s paved all around, and it adjoins a large wooded area. Great for dog-walking, too!
Armani Prive Cuir Zerzura… leather, vanilla and Iris. Beautiful in the heat.
That sounds nice! I’m plinking a sample of Chanel 1957. No need for more, I find it very boring.
Yay for plinking!! Even better no need for more 🤣🤣
Shout-out to therabbitsflower – my “pet” car is a Buick Century Wagon. Still, sending you station wagon love for your Camry memories!
Ah, thanks for letting me know, MossyBerry!
SotD: La Panthere, from the sample stash. This one totally surprised me. SO vintage-smelling and therefore in my bailiwick. I can see this sample going “tink,” and then…not FB worthy, but will seek another sample or decant!
